Looking up, all the Doctor ever sees is explosions and destruction. He'd hoped there for once, would just be a peaceful night sky, full of stars. But as he saw, as he's seen time and time again, there were never any stars... Just more destruction that seems to follow him wherever he goes. Just for once, he'd hoped he could catch a break and just sees the stars like he's always wanted.
I always shed a tear whenever I hear this heartbreaking piece, whenever I rewatch The Doctor Falls (and Twice Upon a Time). Despite the Series 10 soundtrack still yet to be officially released, Murray Gold's scores for the Series 10 finale are among his best works.
“A life this long, do you understand what it is? It's a battlefield, like this one, and it's empty…because everyone else..has fallen. Thank you. Thank you both, for everything that you were to me. What happens now, where I go now, it has be alone.” Such a brilliant scene.
Just when I think I've listened to all the unreleased doctor who music on TH-cam, another devoted fan decides to give it another go at isolating the music. I'm constantly impressed by how devoted people are to Murray's music. I hope he knows how much we love his music!
This is amazing! I loved the music in series 10, especially this theme! The music used in series 10, especially the emotional themes like this and even Bill's theme are just beautiful! Such a shame they were never properly released 😊
This is mindblowing. I came to show one of my friends the piece of music. Been a while since I listened to it, so I saw that yours was more recently uploaded. I can't believe how clean this is. Bravo.
Now THIS is doctor who. Beautiful, Magical, slightly eerie with elements of Classic science fiction tales. we need to remind RTD that this show doesn’t need to be campy and childlike in order to be entertaining, the show grew and evolved with the age range of a majority of viewers after he left and became something a little bit more mature over time but still fun for all the family. Moffat created the blueprint for how classic Who could work in a modern generation and it’s a shame that we never really expanded on it.
👏This is beautiful! This is the cleanest version of this score that I've heard so far! Congrats and thanks for making a clean, clear-cut version of one of my favorite Doctor Who scores!
🥺This is incredible! I have loved this music since I first heard it when this aired and to hear it without all the sound effects and noise, I never thought it was going to happen. Music really connects with me, the right musical score to a scene and this emotional crescendo of music the end of Bill's story as well as Capaldi's, it was perfect. Thank you. You're skills are unmatched 🤗
Glad to be revisiting this piece now, knowing that the S10 soundtrack will be released! 😁. Don't let that stop you Jackardy!. You're doing brilliant work
Perfect science fiction. Time travel to the space-age, time relativity science stuff, eldrich body horror that's almost worse once you know the extent of it, all culminating in a tragic ending for all involved with a haunting soundtrack to release all the pent-up frustration and sadness, followed by an optimistic spacey-wacey almost annoying deus-ex machina. But actually, this deus-ex machina preserves the tragedy; Bill still died thinking the Doctor is dead, Missy did what she did without witness, Nardole protected the farmers until death, and this instance of the Doctor's life is completely over with a buffer period. It's so beautiful
I always said if they just decided to end the entire show with this episode, it would have worked. The Doctor Falls would have been the perfect ending for the show. One last victory…at the cost of the Doctor and everyone else dying to what he thinks.
THIS is how the show should have ended. When it still somewhat cared about it's characters, the story, the delivery, and the viewers. When it wasn't just "The Message". Today the show is just seeping with woke stuff. Bill was fine. Yeah she was a bit annoying with saying that she is a lesbian every goddamn episode, but it was manageable. 13th Doctor was just devoid of anything good. Not due to the people who played the characters, mind you. Chibnal killed it. And today "The Message" is the only thing the show cares about.
I can't believe it's been an entire era and we still haven't gotten this soundtrack..
Thats about to change!
@@they_fw_lei don't do that. Don't give me hope.

"Pity. No stars. I'd hoped there'd be stars." - The Twelfth Doctor
This line got me as hell
It still get's me.

The greatest line in the history of the show

This speech crushed me
"Pity, no soundtrack, I'd hoped there'd be a soundtrack" 🤣 how the DW community feels about S10.

For everything that you were to me.
It's a crime that this was never released.

Time to leave the battlefield
Such a tender, beautiful piece of music...I can't help get teary eyed. Time for a rewatch....
I don't think I can forgive them for not releasing the series 10 soundtrack. what happens to bill was so tragic

amen 🙏
Moffat was Doctor Who’s best showrunner.
Time to leave the battlefield..
I consider this to be the requiem for the Doctor.
Well, now I am crying. Again.

"due to the lack of series 10 music out there it would be rude not to share". Oh yes, yes it would be.

I'd love to compare this to the soundtrack version... if we HAD one, MURRAY!
I think if the show ended here we would all be happy with how it ended
The melody reminds me so much of Song of Freedom
I still say they refused to release season 10s soundtrack because they wanted to give the next composer a chance.
I adore Doctor Who but it should have ended here....

As far as I’m concerned it did.

Indeed. In my mind the show ended with Capaldi too.
