Mixed feelings for the mother. Happy that her daughter connected with the grandparents, but very sad that it didn´t happen to her, and that she is sharing her daughter in some way.

misskoolkaitykat True if people keep watching them maybe they will come back one more time. I don’t think Amy and Dan want to do any more though. I am fine with how it ended but I had hoped Rory would have had more success and didn’t act so entitled. I didn’t expect her to be the next Christiane Amanpour but I thought she might get a paid job at a newspaper. How did you feel about the revival?

@@cmrwrite I felt disappointed, After Season 3 Rory seemed to go downhill and it would have been nice to come full circle and see her back on top and/or likable again

@@cmrwrite I know you weren't asking me, but I hate the way they ended it. It's tainted the whole series for me. There's a saying in writing: "Kill your darlings." I think Amy is extremely talented, and I get that she was in love with the idea of her final 4 words, but it was a bad idea. It was cleverness and irony at the expense of being true to the characters and the world she had created. Someone should have told her before she ruined the character of Rory, and everything Lorelai had been working towards for Rory's whole life.

Selfish Lorelai realizing her daughter actually likes and feels confortable in the Gilmore's world.
    Rory is no Lorelai

if you where in Lorelai shows and your parents treated your kids better then you. You would feel the same.

Lorelai is WAY insecure, even though it might not seem like it. I think what we are seeing isn't jealousy, it's fear. Her parents have always been critical and told her after age 16 that she wasn't good enough and how she disappointed them. I think she's afraid Rory will see that world as superior and abandon her mother for that and her grandparents. There is a lot of anger in that relationship, on both sides. Rory isn't mature enough to get all the nuances or reasons.

@@suzannecompton67i think it's a mixture of both jealousy and fear. Jealousy that rory bonded with her parents particularly her dad in a way lorelai was never able to. I think lorelai knew she was a misfit in that world and kinda decided rory is too but she starts to realise rory isn't a misfit and fits well in that world. A world lorelai desperately wanted to get away from but finds herself having to reconnect with it because rory likes it.
