Thank you sooo much for this 🙏🏽 I was actually contemplating going to my local junkyard, removing and purchasing 4 door panels for the same vehicle that had power windows. This is much simpler, cheaper and less time consuming! Especially since I have to keep checking for the model and wouldn't know until after installing if they even work!
I really like this video, you explained all this very well, no filler, no BS. Much appreciated! I am about to do this job on my 04 Honda Civic DX, I'll have power windows for the first time! (11 years with this car, still running great). Cheers mate!
I wasn't planning to do this in my Solstice, I was watching your power locks actuator video and this one auto played by accident and now you've convinced me. Good project for all my free time!
Imma be honest, I didn’t need to know this information. Stayed because you did a great job breaking stuff down. 😂 I will probably never have to do this, but I stayed liked and commented. Thank you for your hard work
Excellent video. There’s a 2019 F250 crew cab work truck with the diesel engine and a whopping 7 miles that my local Ford dealer wants to sell for $35,000. The truck has no power windows and no cruise control. It seems that those two things can be added for fairly cheap. I don’t care if they don’t work the same as factory as long as they get the job done. $35K for a diesel work truck that’s brand new and can be converted to a fairly comfortable truck is starting to sound really good.
Do an extra step and run a wire from the battery to the new fuse box. Splicing into existing things are just lazy work and you wanna do quality work. Adding a fuse box will allow you to add rear view cameras, dash cams, lighting or anything else that needs power.
Awesome video. The makers of this kit should of definitely payed you for doing this video. I'm sure I can speak for 90% of the people in these comments your video convinced me to buy this kit.
THIS IS PERFECT, thank you so much for not wasting time, best video on this subject I can find, about to upgrade a Colbolt with this kit and this was SUPER helpful, I will be checking out your other videos.
Thanks for this... I used to put these in new dodge cars in 1990 and 1991 when I worked for car stereo company... spal was the brand, amazing they are still the same, this was the best kind then and I still believe now.
I suggested this product to my mother-in-law for her older car. She purchased one from Amazon and it did arrive fast but when we opened the box, the parts looks like it had been used before. Seems like they have sent a “returned” item. The white gears and risers were dirty and greasy, some of the screws & rubber bushings are missing. Even the power window motors are dusty and scratched. We are communicating with the seller but it has taken a lot of emails back & forth. We sent them pictures of the parts and lately pictures with circled notations. They are probably figuring out either to send a brand new box or just replace the missing and dirty parts. Hoping to get this sorted out so that I could install it this weekend. Btw, I installed the Keyless Power Door Locks without any problem. Awesome video tutorials and keep it up!
Excellent video. Very easy to follow and you described everything very well. Thanks. I used a similar kit on a Frontier I had back in the day after I got tired of manually cranking open the windows. LOL.
Great video 👍 just ordered 2 sets one for my 91 honda crx and one for my 89 hatch back civic 😎💯 cant wait till they get here looking forward to this conversion
Great video man I wanted to let you no I couldn’t cover the old window handle so i made it were it could fit back so it looks manual up and down.but i have the new power switch installed in some blanks that was in my dash.wasn’t fun getting them to stay in place lol.
I just did this today. Thanks for the instructions! I used a fuse tap for the power. Ford has a 15v fuse for power wondows and sunroof even if you don't have those options lol.
Good video. It was informative and Finnertaining. There was a section in there where you videod your hands and Finners which is usually hecka irritating to me but this was not. Thank you for doing such an informative video, you helped make my choice for my window actuators and the Finnershed product looks really good. All joking aside, killer video. thank you.
Merci beaucoup pour votre vidéo.... J'ai une voiture ancienne. Cela fait un petit moment que je cherche à installer des moteurs électriques pour les vitres de mon véhicule. Je ne savais pas trop où chercher. Mais là c'est une révélation. Encore merci.
How do you "connect the last red wire to the fusebox for ignition power"? How does that work? Are there terminations for bare wire at the fusebox? Does the wire have a clip or connector to plug into the fusebox? Ive done a lot of work on my van but nothing electrical yet. Great video, though! I learned a lot!!
Dude great video, I was looking for a tutorial video to install one on my tacoma, I’ve been doing some stuff to it, security dash cam, led lights in the bed, backup cámara and next will be this, thank you and GOD bless keep up the good work.......
That’s pretty dang slick. Great find and very good information. I should see if there’s room in my little Nissan work truck. I’d happily spend that to go from manual. Getting lazy in my old age. 😂
lol now I'd like to see you close the door, I probably would've either grabbed a power window door panel from the junkyard or cut holes in the blank space above the door pull, but to each their own.
Wow beautiful job on your video and you installed it on my very vehicle. Now were you mounted the switches doesn't it get in the way of you closing the door.
I found a set of these switches and all the wiring for around 30 bucks. Do you think this setup would work with oem power regulators from higher trim truck? Instead of using old gear system and using the chain type you have couldn't it work with the originals to gm? That's my plan anyways I guess I'm just speaking into the ether to see if anyones done it. Great video BTW if I decide to do this soon I'll definitely be using your tutorial! Super clear directions
Great video. It will make my job much easier, *but* I wouldn't put the switches in the door pull like that. You can't put your hand into the pull, and on a windy day you need to hold on tight.
@@Fentertainment I was just thinking maybe the ignition wiring would be too small a gauge and or fuse rating would be too low. Whenever I install things like high flow fuel pumps, that’s what I do to be on the safe side.
I have a question. If my truck has manual windows, and I installed factory power window buttons, could I run the wires, after they are ran to power/ground to the factory switch buttons? Regardless phenomenal video man!! You gained another subscriber! Thanks for posting a how to video the right way!
Great video! Absolutely supreme detail! I have the same truck ('01 Sierra) I bought the same kit and I'd REALLY REALLY like to know where you got your 12V ignition power. I'm going to do this install, plus the power door lock install you did soon (weather permitting). Thanks so much!
Charlie, Check this link out. Should tell you everything you need to know. This website is listed in the description of the video and what I use for all of my vehicles. www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=7482
Great tips on removing the window handle. Sure hope those motors last longer than GM factory ones. Are there clips for removing the door panel? Like plastic push and pull ones?
This seems to be a solution for my 2014 Titan S model, which currently has manual windows. However, manually they are quite tight to operate. Is this motor assembly stout enough to handle normal pressure?
Just use a cloth to remove the window crank, I normally use an old sock. Wedge it in the gap and just pull the sock until it hits the wire and just keep pullig and viola.
I installed this type of conversion a couple of years ago and they both have started to fail. So I ordered a set of replacement power regulators from A1 Auto for $75. Since I already have the switches I will just use them. You can get a set of universal switches from Amazon for $26. Yes, you will spend a little more if you buy the actual regulators and a set of universal switches, but you will get a superior product with better performance and reliability from the actual regulators. You will have to remove the manual regulators and install the power regulators. The good news is that the mounting holes are already there, so no drilling. Look for a video for your specific car or truck They run up and down smoother and not as jittery and noisy.
Hi great video I wanted to ask if you might know if i can take the electric window motor and all of the mechanism from one car and install on another car . For the matter I’m asking about a mazda lantis 333 i have two of them and the newer one doesn’t have power windows while the older one has them. Do I need to take some of the wiring too?
Where do I connect the red wire to power it I got a mini fuse tap to tap into the fuse box but the fuse tap I got Says not to use anymore them 10 amp but the window kits is a 30 amp so I can’t use the fuse tap. Where els can I connect the red wire
im curious, for ascetics , can you not swap door panels with factory electric power windows ,and use the factory switches, there just open and closed switches, may jave to do some meteoring to figure it out ,but probably be worth it,
I bought a kit like this with lit up buttons, I rolled the window up and it was having a hard time then it stopped. Lights went out and I heard a pop. The in line fuse wasn't popped, and I'm plugged into an IGN port. No longer works and I'm stumped!
Does it have 2 swtich for friver and passenger side? Or only the driver side have the switch?? Nice tutorial by the way Very simple and clear explanation..
I bought a replacement window crank at auto zone and the teeth that grabbed the crank didn't last one turn. I'm concerned if the plastic quality will be strong enough to maintain hold on the door crank?
I have the same one and recently, the plastic belt inside the bridge got jammed and is popping out and different sides… would you recommend buying another one, or is there an easy fix to this??? (Not sure if this is common)
Where did you connect the ground wire. I followed these exact steps. I connected the power wire to the ignition fuse and when I connected the ground wire to metal it sparked and blew the ignition fuse.
To be honest I literally just found you and the way you explain stuff is so good. Keep up the good work !!!

Question for you: did you use a fuse tap for power, and if so, what existing fuse did you tap into and what AMP was it? Thanks.
I wasn't planning to do this in my Solstice, I was watching your power locks actuator video and this one auto played by accident and now you've convinced me. Good project for all my free time!
Me too
I like how clean and very clear you are when you explain everything, Thank you 👍🏿
I try to keep the videos simple and straight to the point.
Such a wonder fully made explanatory video highlighting all aspects, makes it simple for novices, like me, to grasp and understand

Could you please show how/where to connect the red wire to fuse box, that’s literally the only thing I can’t find anywhere
Should connect to your windshield wiper fuse. 30amps, with a fuse tap
Do an extra step and run a wire from the battery to the new fuse box. Splicing into existing things are just lazy work and you wanna do quality work. Adding a fuse box will allow you to add rear view cameras, dash cams, lighting or anything else that needs power.
Sifaka since my truck is a base trim work model I would love to just add a fuse into my stock fuse box. The spots are there. Any advice on that?
Same, just did mine yesterday and only thing i need is the power 12v
Go to your auto part store and ask for an add a fuse. And you can connect your existing fuse and a new fuse in the same slot
Awesome video. The makers of this kit should of definitely payed you for doing this video. I'm sure I can speak for 90% of the people in these comments your video convinced me to buy this kit.

I am super grateful for how detailed you are. You are giving me a lot of confidence to try this myself.

Thank you so much for the video, can’t wait to do my truck 😎
great video. So a year after, how is this kit holding up?
the part where you fed the wires through the A pillar door jamb, it seems to me your WHOLE life lead up to you saying "the correct way to do it"

To this day the witches are still there. Kinda wish I would’ve mounted them different but the hole is there so it’s done.
I think I will copy all your activity. It is exacting what I was looking for but for my old Alfa Romeo Duetto Spider 1989!
Great video, the only thing I would do differently is add a relay for the power to the unit, use the ignition to trigger the relay.
me too is the way im going to do it
How exactly do u use a relay to trigger it? I know how they work im just trying to figure out how to wire it correctly
Use an automotive 5 prong relay (universal) 87 to batter 30 to feed power (to windows switches) 86 to ground and 85 to ignition position on
which this brand u used
I was hoping this would come along 👍👍👍
I already install the tailgate assist ,door locks lol

Nice video. I would add a relay with power directly from battery and have the ignition act as the signal.
Honestly thought of doing this. I’m sure it might be a tad responsive as well. Should be able to deliver more amperage to the motor.
