Ah one of the lore fathers, Necrit, the lore father of League of Legends. There's also another lore father you'll love, especially the way he unravels lore in interesting narratives. His name is My Name Is Byf and he tells the story of Destiny.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames you guys should do reactions to the videos on fudgemuppets TH-cam channel as they do lore videos on the elder scrolls series.
Yup. thats exactly what it is. Heimer is a yordle which were the first of the creatures to appear on Runeterra along with the Vestaya. He would have known about the rune wars from his ancestors, if not directly, as yordles cant die from aging as it was revealed in In The Meaning in Misery.
"Even Death Itself Came To Be" Lamb : "Are You There Dear Wolf" Wolf : "I Am Little Lamb" I Realy Recommend Kindred Story Bio And Voice Lines They Are Very Uniqe And Deep And Great Reaction As Always
In January Riot released a video about their plans for 2022, where they strongly hinted, that this year we will get big event about the Void. I am really hoping, they will also release another epic cinematic for it, like "The Call".
About the void mental whispers, it is an absolute hell, if you guys have the chance I very much recommend watching Necrit's video on Aatrox or read the short story ''The Cage'' it is honestly heartbreaking to see how torturous life was for the corrupted Ascended that remained and how the Celestials made it even worse. My personal favorite is the story ''Where Ichathia once stood'' which explains the Ichatian war and how the region was tossed to ruin along with every soul that lived there in a desperate attempt to stop Shurima's oppressive reign, I watched Necrit's video on it and I was absolutely stunned how the storytelling was made, it is phenomal!
Ah good ol' Necrit. He's definitely the best person to watch to learn more about lore. Fun fact, he's actually a part of the lore itself now! In the recent Ruined King game they made him into an actual character. But yeah, the lore for League is awesome, and it's really expanded since this video was made, with tons of new events and champions expanding on all of this as well as Legends of Runeterra game adding in so much lore through its cards. Honestly I'd just recommend watching Necrit's videos for fun, not necessarily to react, since so many of the stories are really interesting. If you want a good video to watch next though, I'd honestly recommend either the ones about the Darkin War, for more history, or the ones about the Lux Comic, which talk about Sylas and some current events in Demacia.
I agree, the Lux comic is great 9mostly coz I love Sylas. Also Viego the Ruined king lore is worth checking out too th-cam.com/video/QoEtC_RgxP4/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Necrit.
Ive been playing league and I know the lore of some of the champions but THIS video really glued a lot of their lores together, it really explained the connective tissue, this was fantastic, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! The link to the vid is in the description if you want to check out more from Necrit. A channel we plan on seeing more from as well 😀🥳
Necrit has alot of videos regarding the lore but also just some general lore videos that you might enjoy, like: How old the champions are, how powerful they are etc. He also has lore videos specific to certain champions, but they are a little older and might be outdated but might still be fun to react to
I'm glad you guys watched Necrit for the lore of league of legends he was like the Godfather of League Lore, so yeah, he got a lot lore related stuff for league
Victor from Arcane was a victim of these void whispers too, I think. Seems like they were corrupting him and at the same time gaining power by corrupting the Hex-core thing he made.
I've said before how much I enjoy the both of you and your chemistry, but both of you are also very observant and critical thinkers. It's really a joy to see! Till next video 👋🏻
Thanks so much for the kind words. It’s fun watching these lore videos and then having a nice discussion afterwards about it. Even when our theories miss the mark 🤗
haha and there's a bunch of non-league players that thought arcane was the main story xD it is actually such a small part of the map and whats happening in the wider lore. FYI Necrit's recommendation on Sylas' lore is the opening scene in the "Warriors" cinematic and Udyr's lore is tied to the ice scenes in "The Call" cinematic (girl riding the boar is Udyr's daughter, Sejuani)
Two interesting side notes to take away if you are an arcane fan is one, that Heimerdinger was probably referring to the rune wars whenever he had those flashbacks and two, that the Hexcore that Victor was working on took on a very void-like appearance towards the end of the series. That kinda scares me because its not even very subtle.
First time watching this as well, and what I got is that Runterra is basically a planet-sized pot filled with bad stuff thats been slowly building up over the years and is about to boil over in any number of ways
Watchers in the north, void rift in the south, demons in the east, celestials fighting in the west, world runes below, angry star dragon above and an immortal warlord in the center
Props to this guy for pouring over page after page of information and reading story after story, finding out every last detail about League's backstory.
Haha my head has already explored from all the lore in runeterra. Not only are there 11 regions (not including the void), and the stories of all the 150 odd champions, then you add all these individuals, creatures and locations that they introduced in Legends of Runeterra. Necrit has his hands full.
just in time, you are getting deeper into the LoL iceberg, Arcane was just the beggining remeber the lore is ever shifting, some tingh have change, as a fellow golden bird man would say tell the people what you have seen today
btw, is obvius that this video was a HEAVY drop of information, we dont really mind if you have to take breaks, there are a lot of strange names, Necric is a great youtuber by puting all the images that fits the narration, but us A LOT we lore nerds, readed this by the course of 10 years xD
We’ve thought about pausing to discuss but at the same time it’s interesting to take it all in at once and see what sticks. What truly stands out. What’s the takeaway from it. What do we need to go back to and learn more about. 😀🤓🥳
Necrit is the best narrator ofLeague's lore. Riot even made him a character in their new game because he's acknowledged as the Lore Father by the community.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames yeah it's pretty good, there's a famous player named TYLER1, he used to get permanently banned for being too toxic, but he changed after and just months ago he reached Challenger (the highest rank possible in the game) in all roles, which is pretty impressive, and Riot sent him customized badges and medallions for his achievements.
I actually felt a little stressed watching this, because I was probably one of the people who recommended this channel. Necrit is very thorough, which can be good or bad, depending on your interest level and attention span. I hadn't even seen this video before, which is not that surprising because he has mad so many. Anyway it seems like you liked it, so I'm glad/relieved. The unique thing about his channel is how he brings pieces together from different sources, to make the over all picture more clear, and concise.
We did enjoy it. And no need to stress! Even if we don’t enjoy a request or a game or video isn’t our taste it’s all good. Never know until you try it out and we love some good lore vids 😀🥳🥳🤗
Hahahahh the zed - nocturne shadow conspiracy theory was one of the oldest ones in league which necrit like many others thought nothing of. It was mostly a joke. And then it was kind of confirmed, hence the shocked necrit face at 2:45
for someone who follows League of Legends since season 2 it is interesting how much the lore changed to make it more cohesive and logical. The whole setup of the Summoners Rift changed and if I remember correctly Nasus and Renekton were both transported from somewhere to the Rift while fighting each other. Or looking at Swain the leader of Noxus: Before you could find lore in "newspapers" about him overthrowing the previous government with the help of Darius because in Noxus only "strength" (aka capability and willigness to use it) is what defines your position. He killed Jarvan III. the king of Demacia after that king killed the person who became Urgot later. Urgots history was also completely changed. It is true that the lore was a bit all over the place back in the day and sometimes forced to somehow still work together but it was cool to find out about the different champions within the bio's of other champions.
Man, it is cool ya'll are committed to covering League each week. I believe ya'll should rewatch this video soon, as ya'll have seen plenty in the music videos and cinematics that are mentioned here, like Ryze and the World Runes, As We Fall shows a Darkin get released from his weapon peison, the Bard cinematic shows exactly what the Celestials are doing to stop Man from using magical items for war, etc. Ya'll ask questions in new watched cinematics that you would already understand if you remembered Necrit's video. Hell's, just start reacting to Necrit's videos.
The was a very . . . brief overview of the whole creation of Runeterra, he didn''t even mention that the Watcher that came through in the Howling Abyss was Vel'Koz, a playable champion. Or the fact the Ixtal (ish-tal) severed themselves from the outside world when the Void took over Icathia.
Hmmm, 3D model of C'thun's eye. 3D model of Voidwalker. Evil formless beings from other dimension corrupting people through whispers. Music pieces from Ulduar. Are we sure it's LoL lore video? ;)
Poor beings in Runeterra being used by both the celestials and the Void Watchers, it really sucks to live there especially if you're just a regular dude. But it makes for a good story and lore. 😂
To give u a picture of how the corruption looked like: Some of the shuryiman ascended were aatrox, Rhaast and Varus. They were human ascended, beings that were godlike and looked golden and angel like, after the void corrupted them and they were trapped in their own weapons by aspect of twilight, they literally became a being formed by flesh and meat of human beings. I recommend u watch the voiceline of aatrox, it gives u a clear idea of their point of view
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames not without a reason, they are pretty good. as i said, i recommend u do aatrox first, since his tell a bit story around his perspective. i also higly recommend u do react to the champion teaser of the champ of the voicelines before. these teasers a barly 1 min long and therefore would be perfect to put it togther with the voicelanes reaction
I wouldn't be surprised if Riot took inspiration from Blizzard. Celestials are basically Titans, and Watchers are basically Void lords. Azero...I mean Runeterra is heavily involved in a cold war style fight between these two. Oh and both games literally having "the void" as the big bad, spawning purple lovecraftian horrors. And Riot also currently working on their own MMO, which will likely be used in a similar vain to advance the story as the champions of Runeterra fight, loot, grind their way to saving the world every expansion.
YES. Just started this video, and ya'll are winning just by depending on our boy Necrit. He is amazing. You go through his channel, and you will know League of Legends in a level unimaginable.
Ah yes Necrit! You guys should check out his video called "How Powerful Are Champions According to Lore?" It gives a small insight to most champions in the game
I feel like you guys will enjoy a story from the region of Noxus titled "Principles of Strength" narrated by Necrit. The story features the Trifarix of Noxus(their leaders) and how they do business. It is one of the best stories league of legends has to offer in my opinion. Also, great reaction as I enjoyed it like always. Reading League lore has become one of my pastimes even after I stopped playing the game for about two years now. The vast numbers of stories from each characters and regions makes the lore very welcoming to newcomers for there is surely a story that will grab their attention and meet their interests.
Just how last year we got more cinematics and events about viego and lucian and senna , this year we gonna get more stuff about the void who starts attacking again.
Yeah please take your time. I personally would love to watch some of your journey into the lore. If you want to upload videos whenever you feel like diving back in, I'll be watching them. I recommend is pick a region, Necrit & Tenebrix has amazing videos on each region. If you want to get a hopeful peek at the next season of Arcane, get more info on champions that are or possibly will be in the next season? Piltover & Zaun focused vids. Either way hope you upload more lore dives so we can take the ride with you two. Thanks
They aren't "still" active, but rather "got reactivated", as they were properly sealed, but were released by foolish and/or desperate mortals. See Varus' cinematic.
dang, youre right on the decoy planets, or maybe not decoy, but more chances of the warriors they want comming to fruition instead of putting all their eggs in one basket. but well, seeing how they are doing terribly looking out for this one planet it doesnt seem possible for them to supervise many more lol
Ohhh been waiting for a video like this for a while now, I'll be excited to see it after work. Also, I dunno if this is the place to say this but it would be amazing if you could check out Frostpunk's trailers. its a game centered around the last remnants of humanity after the world has completly frozen. Its trailers are some of the best works I've seen on this decade, the best ones in my opinion being the main game's trailer, On the Edge and The Last Autumn.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Thank you, it was great all the way! I had actually forgotten a few of the things the vid talked about rven though I watch a lot of the channel's content.
Oh, I come back to this again. So In Arcane, Rio, the animal Singed (“doctor”) raised and fed the purple flower and extract shimmer from, was believed that the purple flowers were a result from the void. Before Piltover, Piltover and Zaun was called Osha Va’Zaun, ruled under the Empire of Shurima. There are actually an even lower layer than the Zaun’s deepest place where Jinx and Vi grew up, and those places holds the ancient structures of Shurima, with relics, temples and ancient wardens. So In theory, the void could’ve leaked from the shuriman’s former empire, and thus creating the void cavern with purple flowers absorbing those leaks from that. Shimmer is addictive might not because it’s simply a steroid drug but because the voices, demonstrated during the Jinx vs Caitlyn fight, pushing the consumers to do things that makes them feel alive. This is proven by some. Easter eggs in the show, there were references to all regions of runeterra, but the Void isn’t presence because it mostly doesn’t have a clear location, so they slicked it in with Shimmer to make the reference to the void. This will help them when they wanna explore other regions’ stories telling in the future, as the Arcane is presence in almost everything. Also the show does have a lot of foreshadowing, so if Arcane goes beyond the story of Jinx and Vi, you will start seeing names pop up like Bildgewater, Shurima, Noxus, Demacia (direct counter to Noxus), Ionia, and of course, the void. Here’s a list on top of my head where other regions references had in Arcane: - Ionia: episode 1, the 2 tall figures with masks from the scene of entering the under city, the masks in Benzo’s shops, the Brothel, the princess that got her head cut. -Void: Shimmer, Rio, the Hexcore - Noxus: Mel’s “mother”, she could be an adoptive mother btw. -Frejord: The violinist’s background - Shurima & Targon: Mel, when she was a child, she could be accepted into the Merderda’s clan. He tech Gem could be explore deeper into the tragic story of the Brakerns, an indigenous group of animals of Shurima that got exploit. - Bilgewater: the 2 traders in episode 1 - Bandleader city: Yordles - Shadow Isles: one of the masks in Benzo’s shop ( Liandry torment). This map is particularly sorrow design in my opinion, maybe it has a curse that makes people fall into tragedy. - Demacia: I have not seen anything that screams Demacia into my face, but my educated guess might be some trades between Piltover and Demacia for building materials since it can absorb magic. - Bilge water, under water edition: there’s a whole other world beneath the surface of the ocean, and the fish guy was a representation of that part.
It is hard to tell the story, because it is still getting updated. it happens a lot that they add a new champion and then they update lore of some already existed champions, so the new champion would fit in the story. That is why there never will be fully completed story or a full movie or series. You can see it with Arcane, it was so amazing and it provided a great plot, but you can see they are really careful with it - like there are just from real characters from the game ans they try to not work too much with their own stories or backgrounds. Aurelion Sol is very popular among players when we talk about his design, it truly is beautiful creature - but about his gameplay - you need a high skill to play him. So they changed him now, because a very few players played him - they play him well so they nerfed (weakened) him a lot even though nobody really played him. Now he will get a complete rework so we will see how the community will react to it. But they try to put or create a lot of sources of plot - they make comics, cinematics, songs, stories or events to provide the stories of champions and regions. The comics are really nice, I highly recommend to read them. My recommendation for a story to read about a specific champion - I liked the story of Braum - it is like a fairlytale that is being narrated to a kid about the kindest man Braum. I also loved story of Nami (mermaid) - you can find the comics. But you can watch a video created again from Necrit where he ranks the stories and the power of each champion in League. So I recommend to watch it 🙂
Huh, so The Void is thing that is basically considered as the Main Enemy in League of Legends, huh? Hm, well anyway, i highly recommend that you check out more of Necrit, he is pretty good at explaining things, also he can be pretty much considered to be the Main League of Legends News Guy, so he might be your best source of information whenever you would like to know something specific about or within League of Legends.
you seem to like their version of death at 4:26! Her name is kindred! you should check out her voice lines and trailer! they are so pretty and have some deep meaning to them!!!
I definitely think you can make small connections to the Void/Watchers to Arcane. Specifically shimmer/that production facility and Viktor's Hexcore. Demacia, Noxus are worlds I would recommend doing more videos like this on if you both continue at some point (Leblanc is one character thats so essential to modern league lore).
Necrit explain all the cinematics and the lore of League very well. Kai'sa, she is in K/DA and in the cinematics Warriors and the Call, she was tainted by the void; she and Taliyah fight the void minion in Shurima and the void Queen Rek'sai in the Call Cinematics. In the Call we saw Pantheon, he was the aspect of the war, that ascended mount Targon and we saw also Leona, the aspect of the Sun. Aurelion Sol maybe is who defeat Pantheon but he ult back on the mountain. For the Ascended if you don't see them there are two video: 1) Descend in the Tomb: th-cam.com/video/JKnM6Hh5gOg/w-d-xo.html 2) Rise of the Ascended : th-cam.com/video/CYyuH1Bp2ZI/w-d-xo.html I don't know if you see them.
With the Aaron Fraser Nash rap battles the first one I want you guys to react to is Chucky(KingHenryTheEtch) vs Slappy(KingHenryTheEtch) also wait until near the end otherwise you'll miss out on chucky and slappy having a unbearably hilarious argument
Something the lore video forgot about what's next: Targon's power is getting weaker and weaker, as so the control they have over Aurelion Sol... and he is not happy. In the own words of aurelion sol in legends of runaterra, he will burn the whole planet and keep it orbitating around him like a broken toy once he is free.
Since you guys have done a bunch of Riot stuff, I think you should also check out the Valorant cinematics! There are currently four story cinematics right now. If you do ever react to them, I would highly recommend you also react to the "Die For You" Valorant music video.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Well Noxus aside, hope you're a patient one since Season 2 will take a year or two...and not even that will scratch the surface of the plot of Runeterra.
well the author of the 3rd rewrite of the League of Legend lore was a poached Warhammer Narrative Director and Majority of the writers in the League came from Warhammer so
Hm, say, i have been wondering about something, about Arcane, more specifically about it’s Story, since the League of Legends Franchise has such a huge amount of Lore and Stories all over, with it’s many Locations and Characters within said Locations, each having Stories of their own, So, basically any of these Stories could’ve been used as the basis of Arcane, so out of all the Locations that Arcane could’ve been about, why exactly did they decide to have it focused around on the Story of Piltover and Zaun? League of Legends’ very First official TV Show, After having been releasing nothing but Cinematics for so long as Animated content, Riot finally gets to make and release a TV Show based around League of Legends for the first time and the Story they decided to have this very First TV Show to be about ended-up being about Piltover/Zaun, i don’t have any problem with that, i just wonder if there were any particular reason for that and if so, what was that reason?
It really didn't cover anything in detail, just a massive overview of how runeterra came to be. I guess covering the major current nations would've just taken too much time.
Necrit is a good starting point to the lore of Runeterra, but keep in mind he is still human and gets some things wrong. Not entierly by his own fault even, Riot often tweaks things about the lore, so it is really hard to stay on top of it.
As necrit said you can start anywhere but as for a video to react i would react to kindred and their voice lines i dont know if you want to read their story just to understadn but i HIGHLY recomend their voice lines as a video to watch for a tldr their the personification of death in runeterra its death that was so lonely that he split him self in two
Try to learn more about the War Lord Necrit was talking abput, his story literally changes all the Valoran continent, hus name was Sahn Usal, he controlled the entire continent because of his belief that if he conquered a lot, at his death he would be with other gods in the hall of bones, but when he died he didn't saw something great like the Valhalla, he only saw a sad environment with many wondering souls, he was so angry that he refused to disappear and wanted to come back to the worls and conquer even more, in the mortal world, some mages that were loyal to him, managed to bring him back to the physycal world ataching his sould in his old ashed armor, they wanted to use him as a weapon BUT he started to kill them, the only way to stop him was saying out loud his name Sahn Usal, but it didn't work, WHY?, because he changed his name in Ochnun, a cursed language that no living things talked, and so he new name was Mordekaiser, and now in his secomd empire, he spread his control farther than in his first life, and now he had a new purpose, not just controlling as much as he could, but to collect all knowledge about the other worlds including magi over life and death, his terror reign lasted centuries until someone of his most trustful circle, she was Leblanc, and many others managed to put him back to the death realm, but all this was part of his plan, because in the death world he created called Michna Rachnun, he met tha souls of all the people he met, enslaved, killed, slaughtered, etc, and to turn them in his brand new dead army, he plans to come back some day and use hi army to control the entire world. Now when he was banished to other world, the noxi tribes took he most important fortress, the Inmortal Bastion, and in that place was born the Noxian empire, but the important thing is that there are many catastrophic possible events that could end the world, in order of the worst one would be the Void coming back, Aurelion destroying the wolrd, another Darkin war, the ruin (ended with Viego's defeat), and Mordekaiser's return would the fifth most dangeroures event that can and will happen, so this mad dude is something to fear, ironically, not all the world knows about him, maybe some people in Noxus, of course the black Rose (Leblanc) are aware of this, but they call him the Iron Revenant, NO ONE KNOWS HIS NAME NOW IS MORDEKAISER, so this can be a big pickle, also my fav champ in league xd
u guys can go on universe of league of legens u can see the map there, its for free and all the chanmpion stories and comics u can find there, free again
Video's a bit old so he only left out the Ruination which we didn't know too much about at the time (Or more accurately didn't think would be important enough for the video and would get a whole event revolving around Viego returning to resurrect his queen) Basically just before the Rune Wars, the Ruination was caused by Viego coming from some unseen continent west of the Blessed Isles with his dead wife, he begged the people of the Blessed Isles to use the Waters of Life to resurrect his wife, but they refused because death is permanent and to undo it is unnatural. Viego took this very well and ordered his knights to slaughter the monks in his path and took his wife to the Blessed Waters without permission with a little help from Thresh who was still alive at the time. When he dunked her in the Waters she came back to life, but as a horrifying spectre and stabbed Viego with his own sword. The magical properties of the blade reacted with the Blessed Water and created a massive explosion, turning the White Mist that hid the Isles from the outside world into the Black Mist and chaining everyone on the Isles souls to it so they can live out the next 1000 years as undying phantoms. But at the time this directly led to the Rune Wars because the monks of the Blessed Isles were the main group hiding the Runes from people, after they got annihilated all the magic nukes proliferated without anybody to keep them in check. Yeah this is the backstory/World History of the world. It's too big to talk about individual nations or characters who just live in it. There is so much scale to it the story of Arcane is just insignificant in the broader scale of this war between the Watchers and the Celestials which 99.9% of people on Runeterra are just completely unaware of. It's just a framework for all of the wars and other conflicts mortals will wage on each other now and the story of each modern region starts after the establishment of Noxus and Demacia post-Rune Wars.
We knew a little bit about the ruination saga but this helps even more so thanks for that explanation on it. And this vid gives us at least a good base layer to work with. 🙂
Xerath wasn't "jealous". That's propaganda. Xerath wanted to not be property of his "best friend" anymore. The "best friend" for whom being Emperor of a slaver nation wasn't a powerful enough position to make slavery illegal and who first wanted to become God-Emperor before even telling his friend/property of his plan to not continue owning him anymore. Who here can say that if he was able to divert ultimate magical power from his slaver into himself he'd rather just not and instead see his slaver get it? Even if the slaver was of the "nice" sort.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames for example, Mordekaiser was reworked and his story was rewritten, now he has nothing to do with the Shadow Isles which lets Viego come into the story easier

In January Riot released a video about their plans for 2022, where they strongly hinted, that this year we will get big event about the Void. I am really hoping, they will also release another epic cinematic for it, like "The Call".
The Call was a very great cinematic for sure. Hope to see more like that as well 🤩

Thanks for the video suggestions on where to go next with the lore 😀

I'm glad you guys watched Necrit for the lore of league of legends he was like the Godfather of League Lore, so yeah, he got a lot lore related stuff for league
We enjoyed our first taste 😀
Victor from Arcane was a victim of these void whispers too, I think. Seems like they were corrupting him and at the same time gaining power by corrupting the Hex-core thing he made.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions 😢 Poor Viktor
That depends on whether not not shimmer is Void based which I think makes a ton of sense given the mutations it has as side effects.
Sylas is one of the characters we first saw and definitely wouldn’t mind learning more about him 🙂
Two interesting side notes to take away if you are an arcane fan is one, that Heimerdinger was probably referring to the rune wars whenever he had those flashbacks and two, that the Hexcore that Victor was working on took on a very void-like appearance towards the end of the series. That kinda scares me because its not even very subtle.
Those both make sense and also feels like next season is going to have much higher stakes 😯😀
First time watching this as well, and what I got is that Runterra is basically a planet-sized pot filled with bad stuff thats been slowly building up over the years and is about to boil over in any number of ways
Yup 😳
Yeah pretty much
Watchers in the north, void rift in the south, demons in the east, celestials fighting in the west, world runes below, angry star dragon above and an immortal warlord in the center
Props to this guy for pouring over page after page of information and reading story after story, finding out every last detail about League's backstory.
Agreed 😎🤟
Haha my head has already explored from all the lore in runeterra. Not only are there 11 regions (not including the void), and the stories of all the 150 odd champions, then you add all these individuals, creatures and locations that they introduced in Legends of Runeterra. Necrit has his hands full.
🤯😝
just in time,
you are getting deeper into the LoL iceberg, Arcane was just the beggining
remeber the lore is ever shifting, some tingh have change,
as a fellow golden bird man would say tell the people what you have seen today
btw, is obvius that this video was a HEAVY drop of information, we dont really mind if you have to take breaks,
there are a lot of strange names,
Necric is a great youtuber by puting all the images that fits the narration, but us A LOT we lore nerds, readed this by the course of 10 years xD
We’ve thought about pausing to discuss but at the same time it’s interesting to take it all in at once and see what sticks. What truly stands out. What’s the takeaway from it. What do we need to go back to and learn more about. 😀🤓🥳
Its a bit funny that the Eye for the watchers is actuallythe model for C'thun from World of Warcraft.
You know what is also funny ? The similarity of the cosmic history of the two universes. Watchers / Old gods VS Cesltials / Titans. 😂
The Kindred diaogue thing is so good. The Lamb and the Wolf - Kindred voices.
Been hearing we need to look more into Kindred 🙂
Necrit is the best narrator ofLeague's lore. Riot even made him a character in their new game because he's acknowledged as the Lore Father by the community.
That’s so cool how involved with the community Riot is 🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames yeah it's pretty good, there's a famous player named TYLER1, he used to get permanently banned for being too toxic, but he changed after and just months ago he reached Challenger (the highest rank possible in the game) in all roles, which is pretty impressive, and Riot sent him customized badges and medallions for his achievements.
And then it was kind of confirmed, hence the shocked necrit face at 2:45
Ah okay. Thanks for explaining that bit 🙂
Watchers and Celestials of LoL is soooo like Voidlords with theirs elder gods and Titats of WoW universe -_-"
Recycling, rewrite, different presentation but same flavor
for someone who follows League of Legends since season 2 it is interesting how much the lore changed to make it more cohesive and logical.
We’re glad riot saw how important the lore is and how it can even bring people into the game more. 😀
Yeah this is something we will have to watch again on our own time. Lot of it has faded from memory already 😅
Necrit is so much into the lore of League that he actually is canon in the lore himself x3.
😀🥳
Yooooww its Necrit! You guys been reacting to a lot of my favorite channels lately XD
We enjoyed our first Necrit video. He does them really well 🙂
The was a very . . . brief overview of the whole creation of Runeterra, he didn''t even mention that the Watcher that came through in the Howling Abyss was Vel'Koz, a playable champion. Or the fact the Ixtal (ish-tal) severed themselves from the outside world when the Void took over Icathia.
This is also one of his olde vids I believe. He may have an updated one 🤔
It is going to be so interesting to see what happens when Riot finally gets their MMO going.
😯🤩
It's heavily implied in Arcane that the rune wars is the reason Heimerdinger is so Averse to the use of magic
Hmmm, 3D model of C'thun's eye. 3D model of Voidwalker. Evil formless beings from other dimension corrupting people through whispers. Music pieces from Ulduar. Are we sure it's LoL lore video? ;)
🙃😜
Poor beings in Runeterra being used by both the celestials and the Void Watchers, it really sucks to live there especially if you're just a regular dude. But it makes for a good story and lore. 😂
Haha, yeah no one ever thinks about just the regular Joes and Janes of these worlds 😝
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Exactly, consider yourself lucky if you normally reached old age here.
Necrit is amazing. Love his videos and he is wholesomeness x100
Haha, we can vibe with that ☺️
To give u a picture of how the corruption looked like:
Some of the shuryiman ascended were aatrox, Rhaast and Varus.
Voice lines are being frequently recommended so seems like we will have to start checking those out 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames not without a reason, they are pretty good.
as i said, i recommend u do aatrox first, since his tell a bit story around his perspective.
i also higly recommend u do react to the champion teaser of the champ of the voicelines before.
these teasers a barly 1 min long and therefore would be perfect to put it togther with the voicelanes reaction
A great followup cinematic to see after this would be Call of Power - Ryze Cinematic. It features some stuff from this video.
A video we have been meaning to check out for awhile 🙂
I wouldn't be surprised if Riot took inspiration from Blizzard. Celestials are basically Titans, and Watchers are basically Void lords. Azero...I mean Runeterra is heavily involved in a cold war style fight between these two. Oh and both games literally having "the void" as the big bad, spawning purple lovecraftian horrors.
And Riot also currently working on their own MMO, which will likely be used in a similar vain to advance the story as the champions of Runeterra fight, loot, grind their way to saving the world every expansion.
I was thinking the same !
React to Aurelion sol The star forger returns trailer, since you liked him
😎👍😀
It was fun to learn alongside you guys, since I'm more of a Dota 2 fan lol
Always happy to share on the learning experience 😇🤓🥳
YES. Just started this video, and ya'll are winning just by depending on our boy Necrit. He is amazing. You go through his channel, and you will know League of Legends in a level unimaginable.
Really enjoy his style of explaining things and putting a video together for the lore 😀
Ah yes Necrit!
You guys should check out his video called "How Powerful Are Champions According to Lore?" It gives a small insight to most champions in the game
Thanks for the vid rec! 😀
Thanks for the video rec! 😀
Oohhh guys you two have no idea how badly i wanted to watch this reaction
Yay! Glad we gave you a reaction you’ve been waiting for 🥳🥳
You can also watch necrit's champion lore. It's very detailed.
We will check out more of his vids for sure as they are quite good 😀
Just how last year we got more cinematics and events about viego and lucian and senna , this year we gonna get more stuff about the void who starts attacking again.
Hope the cinematics really start exploring the void 😀
Yeah please take your time. I personally would love to watch some of your journey into the lore.
If you want to upload videos whenever you feel like diving back in, I'll be watching them.
I recommend is pick a region, Necrit & Tenebrix has amazing videos on each region.
If you want to get a hopeful peek at the next season of Arcane, get more info on champions that are or possibly will be in the next season? Piltover & Zaun focused vids.
Either way hope you upload more lore dives so we can take the ride with you two. Thanks
Good suggestion to hit regions that we are already somewhat familiar with from Arcane to dive more into 😀
The 3 known Darkin still active are Aatrox, Rhaast/Kayn, and Varus!!!
😎👍😀
They aren't "still" active, but rather "got reactivated", as they were properly sealed, but were released by foolish and/or desperate mortals. See Varus' cinematic.
Should we say 5 since varus is like 3 man combined?
dang, youre right on the decoy planets, or maybe not decoy, but more chances of the warriors they want comming to fruition instead of putting all their eggs in one basket.
but well, seeing how they are doing terribly looking out for this one planet it doesnt seem possible for them to supervise many more lol
Haha good point that they probably couldn’t handle watching over more than one planet 😂
You can recommend vids anytime 🤗 And hope you enjoyed the video after work 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Thank you, it was great all the way! I had actually forgotten a few of the things the vid talked about rven though I watch a lot of the channel's content.
Yes, react to more lore videos by Necrit, he is amazing!!
He does a great job 😀🤓
I love you guys ❤ please do more league of legends reactions ❤
We will always have some League of Legends reactions coming 🥳🥳
Here’s a list on top of my head where other regions references had in Arcane:
- Ionia: episode 1, the 2 tall figures with masks from the scene of entering the under city, the masks in Benzo’s shops, the Brothel, the princess that got her head cut.
-Void: Shimmer, Rio, the Hexcore
- Noxus: Mel’s “mother”, she could be an adoptive mother btw.
-Frejord: The violinist’s background
- Shurima & Targon: Mel, when she was a child, she could be accepted into the Merderda’s clan. He tech Gem could be explore deeper into the tragic story of the Brakerns, an indigenous group of animals of Shurima that got exploit.
- Bilgewater: the 2 traders in episode 1
- Bandleader city: Yordles
- Shadow Isles: one of the masks in Benzo’s shop ( Liandry torment).
Thanks for sharing some of the Easter eggs you found in Arcane 😀
We also heard Riot made him canon in game. Have enjoyed his first video we saw so will be checking out more 🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames they have made him Canon? Really?
Make more of that please.
Sounds good to us 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames and sounds amazing to me
it would be great to see you guys reacting to some necrit videos about some lore champs as he said like Udyr, Sylas or i dunno Pantheon

you seem to like their version of death at 4:26! Her name is kindred! you should check out her voice lines and trailer! they are so pretty and have some deep meaning to them!!!
Yeah their version of death is very interesting 🤩
*Their name is Kindred
You guys should def check out sylas's lore sometime!
Sounds good to us. He was a character we were interested in learning more about after seeing him in Warriors 🙂
If I had to describe this channel in one emoji it would have to be 💯 because I would rate this channel a 100/100
Yay! 🥳🥳🥰🤗😀
Shimmer comes from Rio tho, it's the mutation that Singed references in the scenes with Rio in them
@@bloodknyte shimmer does not come from rio.... You see in episode 8 the shimmer plant and where its coming from/being mined. Its very void like
Thanks for the recs on other areas and character to dive deeper on 😀
I would recommend watching league's voiceline.
Personally aatrox would served as a bridge between the void war and the sealing of darkin
Voice lines have been getting some good recs for us to check out to learn more 😀
ooohh, Necrit best lol lore content creator
😎🤟
Necrit explain all the cinematics and the lore of League very well. Kai'sa, she is in K/DA and in the cinematics Warriors and the Call, she was tainted by the void; she and Taliyah fight the void minion in Shurima and the void Queen Rek'sai in the Call Cinematics. In the Call we saw Pantheon, he was the aspect of the war, that ascended mount Targon and we saw also Leona, the aspect of the Sun. Aurelion Sol maybe is who defeat Pantheon but he ult back on the mountain.
For the Ascended if you don't see them there are two video:
1) Descend in the Tomb: th-cam.com/video/JKnM6Hh5gOg/w-d-xo.html
2) Rise of the Ascended : th-cam.com/video/CYyuH1Bp2ZI/w-d-xo.html
I don't know if you see them.
We have not seen those yet but we will 😇
Love you guys you can watch champ story like 5 to 7 every time in his channel
😎👍🙂
With the Aaron Fraser Nash rap battles the first one I want you guys to react to is Chucky(KingHenryTheEtch) vs Slappy(KingHenryTheEtch) also wait until near the end otherwise you'll miss out on chucky and slappy having a unbearably hilarious argument
it actually give me a headache to connect all the champs stories together
😂🤯🤗
Fun fact: Necrit was included into the lore in the ruination event. So he's canon😂.
That’s very cool of Riot to do that 😀
I recommend reacting on necrit's champion power scaling based on lore
Appreciate the vid rec for more Necrit 🙂
Something the lore video forgot about what's next: Targon's power is getting weaker and weaker, as so the control they have over Aurelion Sol... and he is not happy. In the own words of aurelion sol in legends of runaterra, he will burn the whole planet and keep it orbitating around him like a broken toy once he is free.
😳😨
So Old Gods from WoW are everywhere, even in League xD
😂
He has videos breaking down characters in each region that cover the individual stories if you guys want more of the personal stories
Thanks for letting us know 😀
Also check the other 2 members of the triforce of lore. Dinka and TBSkysen
😎👍🙂
Since you guys have done a bunch of Riot stuff, I think you should also check out the Valorant cinematics! There are currently four story cinematics right now. If you do ever react to them, I would highly recommend you also react to the "Die For You" Valorant music video.
We do plan to check out some Valorant stuff in the future 😇
Yes pls. I suggest you go for regions first, then go for events, and then champions.
Nice advice. That might make it seem less daunting of a task 🤔🙂😀
react to demacia lore from necrit !!
Arcane is gonna be on a roll once the other regions are brought into the fray.
It is already rolling! Just takes so long for the animation unfortunately 😢
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Well Noxus aside, hope you're a patient one since Season 2 will take a year or two...and not even that will scratch the surface of the plot of Runeterra.
well the author of the 3rd rewrite of the League of Legend lore was a poached Warhammer Narrative Director
and Majority of the writers in the League came from Warhammer so
Interesting 🤔😀
They need to watch the 3 shurima cinematics! They are great!
Yup. We need to check those out. Have them in our request list 😇
I would love for you guys to react to killer instinct. Also I love you’re guys videos and your reactions❤️

Hm, say, i have been wondering about something, about Arcane, more specifically about it’s Story,
since the League of Legends Franchise has such a huge amount of Lore and Stories all over, with it’s many Locations and Characters within said Locations, each having Stories of their own,
So, basically any of these Stories could’ve been used as the basis of Arcane, so out of all the Locations that Arcane could’ve been about, why exactly did they decide to have it focused around on the Story of Piltover and Zaun?
League of Legends’ very First official TV Show, After having been releasing nothing but Cinematics for so long as Animated content, Riot finally gets to make and release a TV Show based around League of Legends for the first time and the Story they decided to have this very First TV Show to be about ended-up being about Piltover/Zaun, i don’t have any problem with that, i just wonder if there were any particular reason for that and if so, what was that reason?
Good question. Sure the answer is out there somewhere or at least some good theories 🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames yeah, maybe.
Haven't watched this before, but if it doesn't mention how POPPY FOUNDED DEMACIA, I'll be unimpressed.
LUL

For laughs and giggles, you ought to also review bad gaming mobile ads. XD
OMG NECRIT! This man knows it ALL.
😎🤟🥳
Necrit is a good starting point to the lore of Runeterra, but keep in mind he is still human and gets some things wrong. Not entierly by his own fault even, Riot often tweaks things about the lore, so it is really hard to stay on top of it.

Whoa! 😯 Thanks so much for going into the lore briefly for Mordekaiser. Sounds like a trickster, Rumpelstiltskin esque 😀😁😈

Video's a bit old so he only left out the Ruination which we didn't know too much about at the time (Or more accurately didn't think would be important enough for the video and would get a whole event revolving around Viego returning to resurrect his queen)
Basically just before the Rune Wars, the Ruination was caused by Viego coming from some unseen continent west of the Blessed Isles with his dead wife, he begged the people of the Blessed Isles to use the Waters of Life to resurrect his wife, but they refused because death is permanent and to undo it is unnatural.
Even if the slaver was of the "nice" sort.
necrit has some really good videos. maybe you guys could check out his recent video about the canon lore of league of legends to get familiar with it.
Thanks for the suggestion on more Necrit vids to check out 😀
this video is from 2019, since then, a good bit has happened
We bet. 😅
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames for example, Mordekaiser was reworked and his story was rewritten, now he has nothing to do with the Shadow Isles which lets Viego come into the story easier
But where can you read it all?? What website???
