I don't know why but a real pang of sadness got me when he introduced Johnny Guarnieri Jr. Here was someone who was just starting his life with a wife and child and blooming career. Then you realise that is now all over for him and sadly he died at only 52 in 1988. Live life fully as it's over like a flash in the pan.
After five seasons, Ernie decided to "pack it in", and end his prime-time series. After a final summer replacement, "GREAT GHOST TALES" (a live anthology produced in New York), "HAZEL" premiered- in black and white- on September 28th.
Ms Shirley Booth real last name was Ford so in time Ford Motor retained their Thursday 9:30 pm est time slot on NBC . Tenn Ernie moved his family to San Francisco and had an ABC daytime show from there in 1962 with a lesser budget .
His ABC daytime show was quite successful (he previously did a similar one for NBC in the mid-1950's, before moving to prime-time in 1956)- until he decided to end it by the end of 1964.
No problem for Ford Motor Co. the Baxter's had Fords in their driveway every episode. One of those Country Squire wagons too. Funny when Hazel would go shopping every parking lot was full of Thunderbirds, Falcons, etc not a Chevy in sight!

Nice seeing Mr. Ford and the cast clap their hands and sing in that great getting up morning.
I would love to see all of his Shows...at the beginning...love his shows!

I love the fare thee well song, we're almost there, and they sang about it over 60 yrs ago, kinda makes you wonder.

I like the wide shot at the very end, classy...
The red Ford at the end has the steering wheel on the wrong side. Must have reversed the pic.
Enjoyed the video. Thanks.
Thank you.

That's was "Samantha's" territory on "BEWITCHED", remember? Besides, Ford wasn't about to promote another auto company's models on *their* program! 😏
@@fromthesidelines So true!
Excellent!

The Peanuts characters were not as wel known in these early years. They became an American institution worth millions of dollars.
Charles Schulz was a born again Christian 😊✝️👑
24:57- Jesse White appears in the final commercial.
Guess that was before he became the Maytag repairman! Ha!
LONG before. At the time, he was appearing in several of Stan Freberg's Chun King commercials.

Back in 1961, one year later they threw God and the bible out of the schools.
Worst thing they could ever do to us children, but I got saved at the age of 44 and 21 years later I'm thrilled that I'm a child of God!
