I was five yrs old in 1961. we had a black and white tv that got three channels on it and a radio in the kitchen on a shelf. My mom would play it while in there cooking for us eight kids my dad and grandmother. I remember these guys singing on the radio and I remember Tennessee Ernie show on tv. Where did all that time go?
Melissa Ward here. I remember them being so handsome and awesome singers! And I was just a little girl. Miss the simple times when music was so pure. I think I was about 6 yrs.old probably watching this. Daddy watched Tennessee Ernie Ford. Good shows then.
Tenia 10 años era el año 72 su música cruzo fronteras yo vivía al otro lado del continente Pero...la voz de estos chicos maravillosos ! se escuchaba en todo su esplendor! Tengo 62 años y sigo escuchando eran hermosos! 😢
What fantastic entertainment. Phil and Don with Tennessee Ernie Ford. they don't make entertainment like this anymore. I've listened to the Everlys since 1958, when Bird Dog was a big hit . I wore out the 45, and still have it. I treasure it.
🧡 It 💯! When Phil did his part by himself on "Bird Dog", I don't know if anyone else noticed, Don took Phil's part against Tennesee Ernie Ford's voice. This was so enjoyable. The guys learned very well from Papa Everly.
This is great! Loved when Tennessee Ernie Ford joined in 😄 So cute when Phil was put front and center 😄 Gorgeous, sweet Phil. ❤️ I love his speaking voice, too. RIP 🌹
can we just take a second to talk about 2 things, the end of BirdDog and Don's switching to harmony like that in a click...and Phil's just overall adorableness and inability to have any clue what to do or say when he's put front and center like that....Everly Brothers are easily still the best harmonizers ever there was, but also funny and adorable.
Phil Everly had the greatest natural tenor voice ever. Their harmonies have never been bested. It's sad that they had so many split ups. Pretty tumultuous relationship, but when they sang, there was nothing wrong with the world.
#1 duo per Rolling Stone Magazine. OMG they were so young and I was just 11. Will be some great harmony in Rock & Roll Heaven. And thanks to Ike for bringing his boys to the world. RIP all.
Both guys are so gorgeous and talented, their hair is to be envied by anyone. Baby boy Phil's voice, even when talking is so adorable. If he was to flirt with me at the age he is here, I would be so giggly and girlish. I am glad they existed in our generation because they are a true blessing and gift to Music.
What’s not to like about this segment!!! Ernie used their time together really well & they all seemed to get a kick out of it...especially adorable were the reactions to the messed up word, ha! Phil got it right & I’d like to have been the fly in the car after the show! Brotherly ribbing can be so much fun!!! ... sometimes ... great video🤗
Good ole Tennessee Ernie Ford! I remember him on TV constantly as a kid. I always liked him. He was like your favorite Uncle. And he could sing too. RIP Tennessee And then the Legendary Everly brothers. Great Songs and Harmonies! RIP Phil
I always liked the Everly's as they were my dads favorite group, this is a real gem i've never seen before! and here the were actually performing LIVE as opposed to overdubbed by the record like they were on the Bandstand Show!
They always sound fabulous. And as handsome as they are here in 1961, they just got more and more gorgeous as the 60s progressed, and onward. My favorite look, particularly for Don, is on TH-cam videos in 1962 (their Marine look),1965, ‘66, ‘68, ‘69, ‘70 and 71. Actually I’d take Don ANY year…
The first time I have seen this. I can't stop smiling. The boys are glorious! Ernie was fun too. I wonder if Phil and Don were this shy in real life? I would love to know. ❤❤
@@EverlyBrothersInternational I already have. I went straight to Everlynet when I found this channel. It does the boy's honour. It is wonderful.Thank you.
Ernie and don,Phil singing for a moment sounded like Crosby Still and Nash ,of course the came years later after the Everly Brothers..The EB influenced many rock ,acoustic artist, include The Beatles
When Tennessee Ernie started the 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 rhythm and things developed it goes to a whole different level.Dons comment about I play on what's left over is great! This looks like it wasn't planned if you watch Phil's reaction as Ernie starts singing rattlesnake daddy ! I could picture an E.P being recorded back in 1961 with the 3 of them together I certainly would have bought it!
Connie Shelton Oh no, it was Don who made the mistake and after that he didn`t smile, I guess he was angry at himself LOL. The right line is:"I want you to KNOW..." and Don sang:" I want you to TELL...". Very funny how he wheeled himself back in line :))))
I grew up loving Tennesse Ernie and the Everly Brothers! Born in 1953! Grew up with best of music!
Since 9 years old in 1957 my eyes were glued to Don. I had no idea Phil was there. The crush was that bad.

What a great find. The fabulous Everly’s in living color and in all their pompadour-hair gorgeousness. ❤️💕 Tennessee Ernie is a bonus, I love 6:15.
Yes you just have to love that hair!! And they always had fantastic hair even when they got older!! Two gorgeous men!!
The Everly Brothers’ classic hairstyle!love it!❤️😍
Everly Brothers is the only music you'll ever need
So darn cute ..love them...😚😚😚

Wow I didn't notice that the first time! So cool. Thanks for pointing that out! :)
thank you for pointing that out!
Love this clip of Tennessee Ernie Ford's show. Such fun and good times were had by all!
First heard Wake up little Suzie years ago in my Dads car. Now after many years of classic rock I'm coming back to the Everly Brothers.
Seems like yesterday and an eternity since the fifties and sixties. Still remember when I first heard them.

I really wish they kept their pompadours up until the 70's. This hairstyle of theirs is god-tier lol.
And I wish this video was longer.
Its like they ran out of hair gel. They went from very neat to shaggy.
Phill found that third harmony by sheer instinct! I could never resist singing a third part when I listened to the Everlys.
I do the same. Its challenging and fun. I love to harmonize
Phil was a genius at what he did!
Im totally agree... Igual me pasa a mi 😆😆😁🤭
While I loved both Everlys, I would die happy if could watch and listen to Don Everly on an endless loop forever.
sharona666 so could i
So,you love Don?👍
