  • The Danchee Ridgerock (amzn.to/3CAw2uV) is one of the most budget-friendly 1/10 RC crawlers you can purchase! But of course, it is not perfect.
    One area the truck really is weak is the stock servos and servo savers. They just are not very powerful and have some issues keeping the tires pointed the correct direction on the trail.
    This video is how-to on swapping out the servos for a cheap upgrade alternative.

    Great budget upgrade Troy. I've been eyeing the Ridgerock for quite a while. I may have to ask Santa for one. I just noticed that you're closing in on 40K subs. Well deserved considering all you do for the RC hobby. Many thanks.

      Thanks Rick for the kind words.
      There are a lot of crazy deals going on with Redcat right now through 11/3....you might want to check them out before going to the Ridgerock. You can get more car for your $$$!

    I cut off my bed and hood to the windshield almost, and the whole rear up to the cage. It's a rolling cab painted authentic camo paint. 6 months nothing broken. 1x9 wheels and mud terrains. It just works perfect.

    I ordered a Betu 35kg servo for my Tekno. It was supposed to be here yesterday but now they said Monday. Amazon is a good place to find a bunch of budget friendly stuff for rc cars. My 4wd, 2wd, and my son's RMX all Hobby Wing clone setups. 👍

    I ended up dropping quite a bit of money into a Ridgerock before just upgrading to a more hobby level RC. It's on proline Swampers, Axial 380 dynamite motors(proper fitting pinion gears were hard to find), 25kg Zooskay servos, homemade aluminum lower links, Jconcepts creep body, and 3s lipo. Still have the Ridgerock for when the grandkids come over though. Gives me enough time to order parts and repair it before the next time they make it over. Parts are cheap through Redcat(parent company)

      I agree, it is a great starter, but I wouldn't recommend folks dump too much $$ into it.

      Haha I’ve been spoiled by Axials, Elements and a Trx-4, the Danshee is a pet project for me as an excuse for the “$100” crawler build 😂 It’s always fun to see the Danshee flexing 90 degrees!

    • @Mark-qv4bn
      @Mark-qv4bn ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't like the body or tires and wheels, everything else is fine, Next one for me is Redcat Gen 7 or 8 crawler. I've seen them online at least for $229 or allot more. Plus $70 shipping probably.Seen one crawl, I want one. Something else good around $300?

      @oldmanjeepingandbiking9621 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mark-qv4bn I have actually gone hog wild on RC crawlers over the last year and have tried many different ones out. If you want to be around the $300 mark, I suggest the Element Enduro SE. for the money it is really a good truck. You will likely want to change out the speed control (ESC) to a Hobbywing 1080 after you have driven it for a while, but it will work even in stock form

    Great info here Troy. I recently got a deal on a nice set of 2.2’s for Grayson’s but they are a bit heavier and made the steering lag even more. He’s also got a light bar to install so the tipping the tray is a great tip for accessing the electronics.. I happen to have a pair of 35kg injora servos, might have to donate them to him 😁

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was really hesitant to add more rotational weight in the tires and wheels. Seems like the ESC and motors on this are a little underpowered.
      How has it done?

      Yes! The factory electronics will handle a 3S.

  • @farmoboy83

    i cant use the metal servo horn provided with the new servo because its too long and rubs the steering linkage...i have ti use stock one and loose a few degrees of steering...

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is it really different than I show in this video?
      I believe mine touched some, but not enough to worry about.
      Also - you can always grind off the very tip of the servo horn to help with clearance.

    I have the same servos on my son's and I still have a lot more travel after the steering stops. It's really flexing the steering links. So I had to use the stock plastic servo horns. I'm just wondering how yours seems to work just fine. Any ideas?

    • @RoadsideRC
