Hi Josh I loved the video! I have a question that I hope hasn’t been asked relentlessly before and I’m rather confused about it. 1) For department of design, there’s a undergraduate intake for the course “Design” but when I look at the course outline for design undergraduate degree, there’s instead 5 *options* of course outlines given (common, interaction, communication, product and transportation). This confuses me a bit because it makes me unsure of what I should really cover through my portfolio (I know in the form there’s no specific guidelines only the amount of pages needed). So my question is, for “Design” undergraduate should my portfolio be centered around graphic design (web design, poster, illustration and etc) or is it wise to include a little bit of (product design, ux/ui design) into the mix? 2) I’m currently enrolled in a diploma program in a local uni after graduating highschool, but I think by the time I apply for 2024 AMA or next year’s intake I won’t be done yet with my diploma program. Do I just send them my highschool transcripts or partial transcript of my diploma program? - I hope I worded my questions correctly and I wish you a great day !
All those divisions you mentioned are covered in various units. Submit your portfolio based on what you are good at and wants to develop more as a student.
hey, am not sure how grading is done in your country. but you need to have a convincing pass in your high school exams. based on your country's grading.
Can you make a video on the application form because I am still confused and do not know how to fill out the form. Please reply to my message before time runs out.
Hiii! Thank you for this video. I found it very insightful. I have one major question and that is about academic merit. In a case where for instance, the CGPA from my bachelor's degree is not up to what is required as eligible for the scholarship, but I am able to put together an outstanding portfolio, Personal Statement and Study plan, alongside language requirements, do you think my application will be considered?
Hello Josh)) Thank you for ur efforts. I need to make sure about some points: 1- My university scores are not that good and it makes me a pretty nervous. Will that effect on my chance to get the scholarship? Though I'm studying korean and will start preparing for the next year. 2- The documents that need a signature, should I sign by hand then scan it and upload it, or use an electronic signature? What the way the accept them? 3- In the application form they ask about the English language proficiency, should I submit it or it's enough to have a topik? Is it ok to leave it empty? Cause I don't have it I'm working on Topik. 4- What do they mean of subject research in Study Plan? 5- Kindly tell me more about the portfolio, I will apply for filmmaking. Can I send my previous works? Can I make a video showing all my works? Is there a max or minimum for the length of per video? Should it have a subtitle in English or Korean? I really need to know such details. Thanks in advance!
1). regarding this i think you will just have to apply and see what happens. 2). whichever way you use to sign is fine. 3). if you have topik you dont need to submit any ennglish certificate. 4). the subject of your graduation thesis. 5). you can edit highlights of all the films you have made into one video. or send 2 ~ 3 of individual films. subtitle would be great.
@@JoshuaWera19 Regarding the graduation thesis, I don't have one cause my major doesn't required a graduation research. What should I do in this case? - About portfolio, can I submit 2 films and a highlights one? - I need to make sure about the recommendation letters, if I have three strong letters like from the Korean embassy, will that give me more chance? and what about it's date, if u kindly clarify it. - I have a topik level one, and the next test will be on April. Once I couldn't reach level 3, can I submit the level I have with my certificates from seajong institute? if you plz give an advice or tips to reach topik 3. ** Kindly make a video about filling the application, it will help a lot! T Thank you very much for ur efforts.
@@RajaaYasin - Then just explain briefly why. It should be fine. - Yes - Most recent date is preferred. It will most likely have an added advantage. - I think you can.
Hi sir....sorry to bother you again...as I searched more about the language requirements...in FAQ they said that we must acquire the required TOPIK level before applying... If they do not receive any appropriate Korean language proficiency certificate at all, our application will NOT be reviewed regardless the quality of our portfolio or the rest of our application. I really can't find any other way to get the level certification because here in bhutan ...no Korean language center is available and when I called the korean embassy they said we have to go to Bangladesh to test....
sadly, rules changed recently and they made it a bit hard to accept applications without topik. you can try but it's really not guaranteed. all the best.
Like what you said in 02:22, I also have known that the university would give a call during before their final acceptance. Could I know what kind of questions do they try to ask at that time please?
Hello Josh! I really enjoyed your video, you helped me a lot 💕💕 I have a question: Do I have to send my TOPIK level certificate by email to them in July? Or do they make us to do TOPIK test online?
Hi Josh ! Thanks for the video it was really helpful just wondering : -Do you have to be 18 or can I have just finished secondary with passing grades ? -Sort of a obvious answer but I'm half chinese and half polish and was born in England, I have a British and Polish passport so does that mean I can't even apply for the AMA+ scholarship ? That's quite upsetting as k arts seems so cool and has been the only school I've actually looked at but thank you for reading and hopefully answering my questions !
I pursued my Bachelor's in English Literature, but I want to study Masters in Visual Design. For this AMA scholarship they ask for 'portfolio', I want to change my major So how can I submit my portfolio without any knowledge about that major. Can I apply without portfolio.
Hey Josh , Their is problem can you answer Actually in my country topik was to be held on April but it's registration form has been closed and due to some reasons we weren't able to fill it but I am prepared fully as I have been studying for past 7 months and next topik in my country will be held on October 14th So is there any chance like i submit my all documents in this April and put details in my document that I wasn't able to give topik but I am prepared and my portfolio is also well done . So do you think they will clear my screening process and let me give their own language exam and consider me ? ( Is this is case I will be able to submit my topik score before arrival in korea on November)
sorry about the topik situation in your country. pls find out if there's king sejong institute in your country and take a korean test there. you can apply with king sejong institute certificate and submit topik later.
@@JoshuaWera19 hey Josh , Sorry again I am disturbing you I have one more query , I just called king sejong institute of my country and I found out that they don't take any open tests they conduct their own semester wise exams that held once in 6 months for that I have to wait more 6 months from now that will be lose for my this year coz instead of waiting for their semester exam I can take next topik But that will be too late for this year ama So I come to know that there is official website of learn Korean in my country they provide 10 weeks extension language classes according to our level and give certificate at the end of 10th week So I was wondering can i submit that as my substitute for this time ??!
1). Your free time will depend on how many credits you want to take in a semester. In my opinion, it's better to take many credits during initial semesters so that you can have more free time in your senior year. 2). Part-time is possible subject to AMA+ office approval and the immigration office.

you need to send the recommendation letter form as it is given from k'arts to each of your THREE recommenders. they are required to delete any instructions written in the spaces to be filled. after that they need to write about you. these are the only recommendation letters that you can send.

Hey if you are international student, do you need to be very fluent in Korean or you can spend 6-12 months trying to learn Korean and learn more once you get there, I dont know if topik 3 is possible in the time
knowing korean is an advantage. if you have been learning korean you can get topik 3 within those 6~12 months. but if you haven't been it's gonna be difficult.

1- My university scores are not that good and it makes me a pretty nervous.
Thank you very much for ur efforts.
@@RajaaYasin
- Then just explain briefly why. It should be fine.
- Yes
- Most recent date is preferred.
@@JoshuaWera19 Thank you sir
Sir i want to ask that what should I do if my high school marks is less than 80 but I am in top 10 in my 12 class so can I apply ?
Like what you said in 02:22, I also have known that the university would give a call during before their final acceptance. Could I know what kind of questions do they try to ask at that time please?
Basically about yourself and your general knowledge of the major you're applying for, Korea, Korean language etc.
@@JoshuaWera19 Deeply thanks for this informations! Thanks for answering my question. 😁
Hello Josh! I really enjoyed your video, you helped me a lot 💕💕
I have a question: Do I have to send my TOPIK level certificate by email to them in July? Or do they make us to do TOPIK test online?
hey, there's no application via email. you need to submit your topik certificate by post together with your other application documents.
Hello, actually I'm not getting how to make portfolio and also I don't have TOPIK now so am I able to apply now? Thanks for your information.
Thanks for the information Josh!
How long did it take you to prepare your application docs?
The documents part alone took about 2 months. But before that I was studying Korean and working on my portfolio for about 6 months.
Do you think AMA scholarship still exists until 2025?
Hi Josh ! Thanks for the video it was really helpful just wondering :
-Do you have to be 18 or can I have just finished secondary with passing grades ?
Hola una pregunta como puedo aplicar al Ama 2023 que documentos tengo que enviar a la universidad de artes Ama gracias
Hey Josh ,
Their is problem can you answer
Actually in my country topik was to be held on April but it's registration form has been closed and due to some reasons we weren't able to fill it but I am prepared fully as I have been studying for past 7 months and next topik in my country will be held on October 14th
So is there any chance like i submit my all documents in this April and put details in my document that I wasn't able to give topik but I am prepared and my portfolio is also well done .
@@JoshuaWera19 do they conduct some institute tests ?

But that will be too late for this year ama
So I come to know that there is official website of learn Korean in my country they provide 10 weeks extension language classes according to our level and give certificate at the end of 10th week
So I was wondering can i submit that as my substitute for this time ??!
@@sshey8984 You can try that for the sake of application. But also register for topik or king sejong test and submit it as soon as you get a pass.
1-Hii sir How long were you free from university and how long do you study in college ?
2- can be do part time job?
1). Your free time will depend on how many credits you want to take in a semester. In my opinion, it's better to take many credits during initial semesters so that you can have more free time in your senior year. 2). Part-time is possible subject to AMA+ office approval and the immigration office.
Can you pls tell how can I check if I passed the document screening process?
Hello! I have to ready all the documents for next year AMA+ asap but I'm not getting responses from mails. I'm still confused on the part that if I have to authenticate the original documents while applying online.
OR
Authenticate the copies of original documents by issuing that they are same with the originals.
If so, Can authenticated copies of documents be sent to karts if the following student is granted for scholarship?
Please response asap.

And one me question does it metter study plan wrote in English or Korean?
