Interesting series, great to watch all the work you do. What are your friend Zach's goals? Greetings from Holland.

Hey, thank you so much! I really appreciate the support. No matter how hard I try to convince him, Zach won't join track with me. So his main goal right now is to become more athletic all around, and especially to jump higher. He's only 5'7 and he wants to be able to dunk a basketball eventually. He already jumps super high so I'd bet it's only a matter of time
Someone watching from Holland is awesome. Thanks for stopping by!

@@SimonShawk5 Just finished watching the whole video, super interesting, giving me more than enough new input.
I'l be 51 next week and doing distance running (5-15k) as well as calisthenics and lots of all-round workouts. I started the barefoot thing about five years ago after not having run for probably 25 years due to patellar tendinitis.
I find it very interesting that many drills that you guys are doing are barefoot and that the feet are a very clear area of attention which I do not ever see anyone in distance running do. Also I wonder about your injury story doing distance work and if you may come back to it eventually after a prolonged sprinting period, you will probably have a much much stronger base. It is very common nowadays for professional distance runners to have a background in the middle distance track numbers like 800/ 1500m. Distance running at a young age is probably not the smartest thing to do anyways, the burnout rate is very high, same as I experienced in my younger days. Muscles adapt very quickly but tendons and ligaments as well as the neuromuscular foundation and proper technique must be trained over many years.
I'll be subscribing to your channel, keep up the good work!

I'm so glad you found the video useful!
Staying in great shape at 51 is so cool. Lots of people use age as an excuse to stop working hard, when they're not even old yet! Good for you for not doing that
After hearing so much about the value of training the feet, my coach and I have really tried to emphasize it in our teams training. Seems to have had good results so far!
I will make a video about my running history eventually. It's pretty much just endless injuries, quite unfortunate. But I absolutely agree, I think one day if I realize I won't hit the sprinting achievements I want, id definitely go back to the 800-1600m. The training is so cool and fun, and like you said the foundation I've built through sprinting would make me healthier and faster than I've ever been. Would be super cool to try out
Thanks so much for your support, I really appreciate it!
