These little desk amps are pretty damn impressive. I currently run the Loxjie A30 with some Monitor Audio Bronze on my desk and I'm super happy with the results!
Hello Jay. Nice to hear from you 😀 I've heard great things about that amp. I was actually considering that myself before I got the SMSL, but there was no stock! Happy to hear you're having a blast with it! Also very excited to see how this market develops in the next few years. There could be some really nice, affordable products on the horizon!
I use the Loxjie A10 with Dali Zensor 3 on my desk, I think it's awesome, great quality sound and more than enough power. My Project Dac E mobile feeds it
I tested SA300 and it's bad. What I mean by that? Music is not engaging at all. Tested with several sources including Streamer+DAC 5x more expensive and also tested on several speakers.
Great video, I bought one of these too for computer use and it's been great, just running with some old tannoy f1 customs. Now looking to upgrade speakers any thoughts on some good speakers to pair with (in white)? Looking at Mission LX-2 Mk2 (86db), Dali Spektor 2 (84.5db - too hard to drive?) or any other ideas? around £200-£250 - thanks! ps - not experienced any issues with line in (used with a chromecast audio) - my unit was shipped with an smsl power brick - LCAP37
Hello Bill. If you're going to be listening nearfield then you might want to try a design which is more optimised for that purpose. Coaxial designs, for example the Kef LS50 and the Tannoy Revolution range tend to work better nearfield as they require less of a sweet spot. A traditional design may also work but to get optimal sound you'd have to measure from the tweeter to your ears, and then from the woofer to your ears and find the position where they're equidistant. If they're not then you'll have lobing effects which can smear the audio. My preference nearfield would be something similar to the Tannoy DC4 or DC6. You might be able to find some quality used examples that fits your price range. For example this unit on ebay would work well: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353465965903?hash=item524c369d4f:g:vDsAAOSwFEFggD6y If you get a small subwoofer for under your desk, like an 8 or 10 inch sealed, this should partner nicely with the SMSL's subwoofer RCA port. ELAC also do the UniFi range which I've heard some good things about, but I've never heard those. Hope things work out buddy!
Hi, i was given a pair of Bose jewel cube speaker. I was thinking of getting this Sa300 and a Edifier T5. I'm not an audiophile not good with those numbers in amplifiers and speakers but i know they look cool together just hoping they sound good too. Trying to accomplish a minimalist look.. Do you think this setup works? Thanks
I'm looking for an upgrade for my desktop room ( it's very small room). Actually i have the Logitech Z623 connect to my IMac, i'm looking for a good 2.1 remplacement, you think it's good combo if i bought the SMSL SA300 with a pair of bookshelf speakers like Klispch (RP400M) with a sub (R100SM) or maybe another brand ? My maximum budget is 500 euros. It's essentialy for watching movies and tv shows on (Netflix Amazon prime video) and watching some videos on You tube, and listen to Music on my computer. Thank you, and sorry for my bad English i'm French, lol !
Hello mate and thanks for the question. I would be happy to answer it. Before I start, your English is perfect! I think it really depends on how far you will be away from the speakers. At a desk you might be too close to those Klipsch speakers but the only way to know is to test it. Klipsch tend to have a very overactive treble so when sitting so close to them at a desk your ears might bleed basically! I would try something like the Elac Uni-fi range - or if you want something more traditional you could try Wharfedale Diamond 11.1 or 12.1. Another option for even better quality is Wharfedale Evo 4.1 which is at the higher end of your price range, but it is worth it because of the cabinet and tweeter upgrade (the ribbon tweeter is beautiful to listen to). Hope this helps mate
hi! i know this is irrelevant to this video, this is actually for your other video regarding beats studio 3, i have a beats studio 3, and i can’t connect it to my pc, im using a 5.0 bluetooth adapter to connect but it’s not showing. can you tell what bluetooth device you are using, thanks
Hello. Happy to answer your question. I was using a wireless WiFi/Bluetooth network card that is built in to my PC. It's connected directly to my PC's motherboard 👌
Thanks for the feedback. What type of living space are the speakers going in? Smaller spaces I'd recommend a decent set of bookshelves. Medium to large spaces it is hard to call
@@felixlaboy1453 ok you'd be perfectly happy with two decent-sized bookshelves (something with 6-7 inch drivers will be fine). I'd only recommend a subwoofer as a must if you listen to a lot of music which puts out alot of sub-bass e.g. hip hop. Have a look at the Dali Opticon 2 and for a bigger option check out the Wharfedale Evo 4.2
I don't have one yet mate. I am in the middle of setting up my listening/review room so I'm kind of waiting until that's acoustically acceptable before doing a review on gear! But I expect I'll be doing a review on that quite soon! Do you have any questions about the amplifier? I'd be happy to help if you do. I have the hypex nc252mp
Hello. Hope you can review this unit in the long term reliability and quality. Being skeptical to buy since this came from China. In our country, no warranty is being offered. I have the smsl da9 model in mind.
would love to but I don't have this anymore - wasn't very happy with the inputs at the back and the noise - so it got sent back. But yes, Chinese products are known to be somewhat unreliable in the community - but nobody has a done a proper long-term test like you recommend. Perhaps one day I'll have the resources to do this
Must say I have fairly good experience with SMSL units; have had multiple and no real reliability issues whatsoever. All that ever went wrong was the SA-98E I used to own would have an annoying hiss when no signal was going through.
So what do you think about the SMSL SA300?

Maybe the backgound sound is caused by the power supply.
Cheers for the input! It might be yes. Unfortunately the amp has now gone back!
Great product, little amp with great sound.
Indeed it is!
Can this connect to the Edifier Luna speaker ?
edifier luna is self powered so doesn't need an amp
sa300 so niceamp
yeah it's excellent for the price
Loxjie A30 is a bit better overall.
