I didn't have to take a test for the rca spot I guess since I did the test back in august of last year they still use my old one but I have applied for CCA in Feb of 2024 did not get anything for that spot so I just applied for rca this month and hoping I hear back from them I also applied for the svc clerk spot now I Did have to take an exam for that
I just wanted to thank you for going into such depth!! At the beginning of the video you appologize for the lengthy time, no need to be sorry!! GREAT JOB!!!
Thank you for this info. I am in Kansas. I applied for a carrier job and about a week later I got the conditional job offer. I too did not have an in-person interview, just an email stating that because of my resume and assessment test, that they are offering me a job for a rural carrier. I was excited! I am so glad you mentioned SSN card because I was not told to bring that. I go in first thing in the morning for my fingerprints. Ready to get started.
@@smokinchuck I have a question. I’m 50 and have not much in retirement. Is it worth me taking this job and having to wait for the opportunity to move in as a regular not knowing how long it will take?
@@thehedgerow Well you would only have to wait a max of 2 yrs to become regular/career carrier as per the union NALC contract. All depends on your facility capacity of carriers they have. If people quit, retire, and/or transfer and etc… You might get career faster than 2 yrs.🤷♂️
Thank you😁👍🏻 more to come as soon as I start orientation. Plus start doing videos for the Keto diet and watch this weight drop off from all the walking/exercise I’ll be doing. Love your videos BTW 😁👍🏻
I figured out why I got confused on the fingerprinting stuff! Thanks so much for this video. It helped me realize I was supposed to email someone about scheduling a time to have it done. I didn’t realize that’s how it worked. But I reread my stuff after seeing your emails and saw where I had messed up. It says to do it within 5 days. I’m a day or two passed that but I just sent my email off. Let’s hope I didn’t mess this up lol
Appreciate the video! The NACI portion is so odd to me lol. I've seen people say they never reach out to their references while others say they do. What exactly are they calling them for? Character questions? 4 people who are not family members for the first 2 seems excessive lol. I get the past boss/supervisor reference.
Yep exactly, character to who you are and can be trusted, responsible and etc… 🤷♂️ Ya them calling people tends to be hit and miss lol 😂 Thanks for watching 😁👍🏻
Applied for CCA on 5/27, got my fingerprints done on 6/6, and today on 6/12 my background check cleared and I start 6/22. I had been stressing a bit because everywhere I check I was told to expect MONTHS for my background check to clear. I'm so relieved.
Congrats on the job. Ya things are more streamlined now and it’s not holiday season. Glad everything went smooth and fast for you 👍🏻😁. I made this video back in fall of 2021.
I applied for the PSE Clerk position in early September 2021. I just received the email for fingerprints and interview and today is November 30, 2021. I go in the morning...so yeah it's a loooooooong process.
very helpful video, appreciate it bro! I did my W4 and emergency contact but didnt receive my NACI SF85 I checked on my computer, but nothing. But I did receive the fingerprint schedule and the days that I can go get it done.
Ya, my wife just got on and hers took a few days to receive her NACI link for the criminal background check. I’d say, if you didn’t receive it when you go and get your fingerprints done. Let them know you haven’t received anything. They should be able contact/email recruiting. At least that’s what I would do 🤷♂️. Thank you for watching and glad it helped you. 😉👍🏻

I applied roughly the end of July or early august and went through the same steps and yesterday I received a email from the usps HR with a effective date of Nov 13 that says I'll receive another email by the Thursday before the 13 on where to report to and what time for orientation if this helps anyone with their timeline... now just watching the inbox
Awesome news Brent and congrats 👍🏻 Ya that’s what I’m doing is watching my inbox 🤔wondering when that day comes that my background check clears and get my orientation email.
Hey Charles, first of all, thank you for sharing!! I wanted to see if you can give a little more detail on your experience and hire date. I am scheduled for fingerprinting tomorrow but I have already completed the SF-85 (Background check form) a few days back when I accepted the job offer. I read that your background check only took 3 weeks, but when did you know and how were you informed? To be more detailed on schedule, when did your orientation start, when was your 1st paycheck, etc...? I was a Federal Officer with Secret Clearance for 10 years so I know my background should be about as clear as it gets. I also have minimal changes in address, or anything different over the past 5 yrs. Just trying to calculate an estimated start date to schedule my personal things without chancing a hire date dilemma. In addition, how do you like the job now that you've been doing it for a few months? I've seen some other videos that people complain about quite a bit, just wanted your thoughts.
I was informed by who would be my future supervisor. She called me to let me know that my background check cleared before I got my email notification of it being cleared from NACI. Please see my playlist of USPS videos. I put out more videos of my experiences and go over emails received and my training schedule orientation and hire date and etc. 😁👍🏻 Next video to watch will be called USPS Update on Orientation/start date. Then other videos covering day 2 of training(defensive driving), LLV training, shadow day, going over CCA Academy. Then videos covering all 3 days of CCA Academy and on from there. Thank you for watching and congrats on your job offer 😉😁👍🏻
@@smokinchuck Gotcha, I saw you had more videos to watch since my comment. Side note- I just saw that you are also an avid Hot sauce connoisseur! I own a small hot sauce company in the Midwest so I may have to send you a sample pack to get an honest review from you! Thanks again for the info!!!

Thank you for your video, I just landed a position as a CCA and I go for orientation next week it's 3 days and the 4th day is the mail truck driving test I don't know what happens after this but I hope everything turns out well, thank you again
Thanks for sharing! I just got my fingerprints done today. The original location that I applied for is further than a job that just came up closer to me. I submitted an application for the closer location. Hopefully I can slide right into the closer location after I get all the background business taken care of. I'm kind of worried because I've been arrested five times in the span of 3-5 years about 10 years ago. No felonies, just being young and stupid =/ I am ex-military and I think that's what got me to where I am now because I only scored a 85 on the test. Im Applying for CCA... 🤞
i wouldn"t even think off working for the post office i do everthing by email pay bills and have the pharmacy dalivery they are so far behand the times the mail is slowing down prices are going up
Thank you so much for your videos. Very informative. How long did you wait after you did your fingerprints to receive an orientation date? I didn't receive a file jacket. They told me there are no more interviews, and as of right now, no drug tests.
@@smokinchuck I called the GIS NACI today to find out the status, and they told me that they sent it to the USPS on December 4th. So, now I'm waiting for the fingerprints. Did you say it took the fingerprints three weeks? Or the NACI?

I did my MVR on 1/12/22 still waiting to hear something back 😫 I’m tired of working at Amazon warehouse and I did Amazon delivery for a year so I have a little background in delivering.
I just accepted my offer. Had the GSI driver check and get prints done Monday. Need to do the NACI background tonight. One thing I’m confused about is that it asks for the business address of previous employers. But it also asks for the supervisor physical address? My previous supervisors have since moved on from those companies. Do you enter the actual address for the supervisor?
I was in the same deal also. I just still put the business address in there. Because if they call? They’ll need to speak to the HR person to confirm job history. 🤷♂️ Hope this helps! BTW Congrats on the job offer 😉👍🏻
@@smokinchuck wow fast reply. My issue is that the company we both worked for shut down their Los Angeles facility - where I am located. So neither of us are there. And they are notorious for not answering their phone line. They pass the buck of dealing with calls to supervisors which I was one of. Funny thing is...they are a huge company. And they are a legitimate company. Just...awful with particular things. While they do have other facilities in the USA and elsewhere, they may not answer the phone calls in HR. Thanks for the help!
Thank you! Tell you the truth IDK?🤷♂️ I just got a call from the supervisor that background check had cleared and when to come in. Nothing was mentioned about fingerprints 🤷♂️ lol.
I’ve failed the assessment 3x. I worked with the PO for 5yrs as a carrier. Moved for my husbands new job, so I had to quit. But the testing changed and I can’t seem to pass it and I have to wait another year. Idk what I am doing wrong.
Search on TH-cam and you’ll find some videos. I was confused at first trying the practice tests. Then watched a couple of videos and understood how they are supposed to be answered. Lol 🤦♂️🙄
i called and schedule for pre-employment session on this coming Friday. My postmaster told me he will schedule my fingerprint on the day i come for session.
I applied for a CCA position on 2/15/23 and started orientation 3/20/23. My PO's PM was SHOCKED that my app/offer/prints/background check was done so fast. She fully expected it would take me 3-4 months from application to 1st day of orientation.
Hi I received a offer by phone call to say my background check was complete and offering the position! However when I contact GIS background my background is still processing. Which is confusing! Anyone experienced this?
No on the drug testing! Days off depends on the need for carriers and the mail flow. I had different day/s off each week. No, they cannot work you that many days straight. According to the NALC union contract. They can only work you 8 days straight, then they have to at least give you a day off. Either that guy is lying or he volunteered to work that many days straight!
@@smokinchuck thank you so much for your quick response! I appreciate it! I’m really thinking of job hopping and trying out being a CCA! I think I would enjoy it.
@@breannepiper you’re very welcome and thank you for watching 😉👍🏻. Ya if you don’t mind physical work. So my background was done Dec 22nd and I’m still on offer EXT. GIS said they had to complete and send my background to usps but couldn’t verify education or employment probably because of Covid. So with that being said, will that disqualify me? I also had something dismissed in 2016 that she said isn’t an issue for hiring because it was dismissed. Thank you! Still waiting on orientation and I’ve received the job offer already.
Congrats on the job offer 😉😁👍🏻GIS background was for your vehicle background check. What about your NACI Criminal Background check? Has that cleared yet?
Thanks for the very informative vid. Would you happen to know if a previous suspended drivers license (currently reinstated) would disqualify me? It was suspended this year and last.
Thank you and glad you liked it. I couldn’t tell you if it would or not. Like anything else applying with the government, I would just be honest with your information and answers 👍🏻
If/when you get a job offer and accept it, you’ll receive another email with instructions on who and how to contact about scheduling an appointment for doing your fingerprints and doing your Background Check. Thank you watching 😉👍🏻
May I ask questions, please? I applied for the CCA on June 12th and I was fingerprinted, assessment test, and passed. I am waiting for the release of my driver's license and the background check form was sent right along with the driver's license. So, what else is left to do other than the drug test? Thank you.
Thanks for watching 😉👍🏻 it’s just a waiting game now. Drivers license background can take a few weeks to clear, then your criminal background check can take 6-8 weeks, though usually only a couple of weeks on average from what others have commented on. Mine took 3.5 weeks to clear. Just be patient, it’s a waiting game. Did they tell you about needing to do a drug test? Because they haven’t been doing them/not needed. Once everything clears, you’ll hear from someone and receive an email with your start date and when & where your orientation is. Hope this answers your questions and helps.
Thank you watching and glad you liked and found it helpful. To answer your question, no! There’s the DMV background check and then if you get the job offer and accept it, then you do the criminal background check.
Thank you for sharing your experiences! May I ask how long does it take for fingerprint to your orientation day, please? I made the appointment to do my fingerprint this coming Monday. I'm wondering if I can get to know when I can get started to work...Thank you anyway!
It will depend on how long your background check takes to clear. Once that clears, they will notify you via email on your hire date and orientation date. Thank you for watching 😁😉👍🏻

I did my fingerprints on 10/07 and after not hearing back for 4 weeks I emailed usps and the said I’m on an automated list. It’s now 11/17 and haven’t received and email yet. Is this normal?
Well if you did your fingerprints, that means you accepted the job offer, next you would have filled out your background check information. Your probably waiting on your background check to clear which can take up to 6-8 weeks to clear.👍🏻 a lot of people are in the same boat, just waiting on their background checks to clear and then get their orientation date email.
Big question man!! On the finger prints I called and email the hr or supervisor from my branch and she told me I have to wait for usps to email me on a email explaining the different locations where I could go get my finger prints and also the dates. Does it sound about right ? I already completed all the other steps on the assessments and background info all I’m waiting is for inductions on where to go get my finger prints
The fingerprint information you’ll get when you receive a job offer email from ecareerworkflow@usps.gov. If you receive that email and accept the job offer, then you’ll receive the fingerprint and NACI background check information and how to complete those steps. 😉👍🏻 In that email, it will provide contact information of who to contact to schedule your fingerprint appointment. Plus the link for the NACI Criminal Background Check. Just need to be patient with the application process. There’s a lot of hurry up and wait. The number that they provide is a automatic service. I'm trying to call people about this issue because I have missed out on employment because the time has passed for me to schedule fingerprinting.
When you got your job offer email, is there an attachment pdf file to open at the bottom of the email? That would have your instructions with a phone number or people of contact to get/schedule your finger prints done. 1. Is receiving an email from ecareerworkflow@usps.gov. 2. Is your person of contact via phone or email to schedule your fingerprint appointment. 3. Is the link to the NACI background check.

Fingerprints and criminal background check comes after you have been offered the position and accepted it. Driving record background check is one step before job offer in my case. My process step says "Application Entry" It's been about 2-3 days but I also applied going into a weekend so maybe something will come my way this week. Just curious on the early stages and when I should expect emails. Gotta trust the process.
@@101BrownMonkey Ya, you definitely wont hear anything until the closing of that job listing. Job listing usually lasts for a week(7days) and if you’re chosen to move onto the next process phase, it usually isn’t until 2-3 days after the closing of that job listing. For example, if the job listing closes today 6-26-22, if chosen to move on, you would see an email say… until the 29-30th. This has been my experience for the CCA position and the PSE position 👍🏻 Btw! Nice score for the assessment test. I got a 100% also and 99% on my PSE assessment test. 😁😉👍🏻👊🏻
i resign from cca position bcz i dont feel comfortable driving Ilv and also postmaster 1 ton truck. so i applied for MHA position yesterday. should i still have go through fingerprint, background check and orination process.
Sorry to hear that and fingers crossed 🤞 for your new application for MHA. No! You shouldn’t have to since your within 90 days of your last day of employment. When I applied for the PSE position that I’m in now. When the recruiter called me to verify that I wanted the PSE position, I asked her the same question and she also said no, because I was still within 90 days of my last day of employment. So this time around, the process steps and hearing something should be faster. If you get the job offer for MHA, they may have you go through orientation again. I had to go through it again also for the PSE position. But hey 🤷♂️, you’ll get paid for it again lol 😂 easy money!
@@anupmehta6179 🤔 It was about a week after the job posting period ended. That’s when I received my job offer emails. So in my case the posting period was 3-19-22 to 3-23-22. I got my job offer emails on 3-31-22.
Hey Charles, how long after your background check cleared did they send you an orientation email? Mine cleared on 11/11/21 and I’m still waiting on an email, status still says in process offer phase. Thanks
I applied 9/13 got mvr check request 9/14 filled it out the 9/15 and on 9/17 Sunday night it changed to offer phase (ext) now today 9/20 it went back to pre hire list why is that? Or does it always go back to pre hire list after they got background back for driving record. It’s clean btw
Could have been a glitch, usually once you get the job offer email and except it, that status will then change to offer phase (ext) 👍🏻 Thank you for watching 😁
Did you release your profile and then apply for the CCA job? You should have gotten the assessment test invite email after doing that. If so, did you apply in within the Job Posting Period? I almost missed out on mine. Because I thought I had applied when indeed I hadn’t. I hadn’t received anything until I released my profile and then applied for the CCA job listing. Then I had a few emails, my profile verification, the another for applying for the CCA, then the one for taking the 474 assessment test required for the CCA job. I hope this helps?
All sounds so positive for everyone. I take it if you get any score below 90, you pretty much have no chance? Can anyone advise? It's been weeks since I was placed on the Pre-Hire list with nothing more than a Motor Vehicle Records Search, which I submitted minutes after it was requested 9 days ago. I take it even though my current online status says Pre-Hire list, I'm not really being considered for the positions?
Thanks Charles I did my fingerprinting today they told me just wait for my orientation day. Did remember when are you going for your drug testing? Thanks again
Hey Charles, thanks for all the great information. My application process says "hiring list" do you know what that means? I have been in the stage for about 3 weeks, I have already done the motor vehicle background check. Thank you for any information you have.
How long did it take to get the motor vehicle background check, I've been waiting almost two weeks, I'm starting to think it's not good, but I've never had any kind of driving issue.
@@Stargazer_Marilu Mine took 3 1/2 weeks without any driving issues either 🤷♂️. Just be patient lol I was thinking the same thing and checking my email everyday hoping to hear something.
I don't received my email for (NACI) background check yet. just completed my fingerprint today at usps facility. Do you think i will receive email for background check where i fill up my 5 years of employment , residence , 3 references and my education etc. I know all this my watching your TH-cam vedio. i really appreciated all the information you provided in the vedio.
Surprise you didn’t receive it at the same time. I’d say contact the person that same person you scheduled to do your fingerprints and let them know. Maybe they might be able to look into it.
Thanks for this video. I applied for a CCA and got the email acknowledgement of my application and a few days after I received an email about a Driving Record Check; to which I followed. It's weird to me that I never got the assessment invite but I got the driving record check. =/
@@smokinchuck Edit: It just dawned on me. I applied for a CCA (Holiday Term). Darn. Maybe that is why. I am looking for a career rather than just a holiday gig but I guess it never hurts to get one foot in the door. Perhaps since the holiday help is temporary and they just need help ASAP; they're shortening the process. Idk. I've never taken the test.
Hey I did fast track paperwork for one location. Another location emailed me today to come do one for their facility. If I go fill out the paperwork for this last one will the first one be voided or it’s still either one can take me? I’m just waiting for my fingerprints results
Did you accept your job offer and within the time period they give you which is 3 days? If so, then did you fill out your background check information within the allotted time? If so, I would call your local contact that did your finger prints. See what they have to say.
@@MyTigre60 oh okay, so it sounds like their system had a glitch. Waiting for your driving record background check, I was in the Pre-Hire listing also. My driving record background check took about 3-3 1/3 weeks to clear. That’s when I got my job offer emails.
Hey Charles I’m new to your channel, I got a question, I recently applied to be a city carrier assistant (only job available right now at usps) they finally contacted me to consent to background check, do you think they disqualified candidates for speeding tickets? I got one speeding ticket 3 years ago 😢😢☹️ but Thsts the only thing on my record, will they disqualify me or still give me a chance ? Thank you
Is this in reference to the GIS motor vehicle background check or the NACI criminal background check? Idk for sure, but I don’t or wouldn’t think 1 speeding ticket would disqualify you 🤨🤔, but don’t hold that to me as I don’t know for sure. I’m thinking if you had like a DUI or reckless endangerment on your driving record, that would be an issue whereas your typical speeding ticket wouldn’t be an disqualify event. 🤷♂️! Hope this helps and thank you for watching 😉👍🏻
what? i did my fingerprint but no interview? Does that mean i will do one eventually? Ive been waiting for almost 2 months...Is that a good thing or a bad thing??
@@92IsaacYun oh okay, so you’re waiting on your criminal background check to come back? I was told they can take 6-8 weeks to clear. Though mine came back in 3 weeks. This morning they sent me a email for my orientation and just now they sent me another email saying headquarters has been unable to process me completely does this mean I won’t get the job??
I’d call your local contact/HR person listed on your fingerprint paperwork/email. They should be able to look up and see what’s going on with your file? Also log into your profile and look at your application process and see if that has changed? This is the 1st 2 things I would do if I were in your situation.
finally I got call from my HR for start date. I got orientation date in July 9th. is that means I am hired ? I am little confuse they called my employee asking about my position , date and end date. I am not sure my background is cleared yet. Thank you
Yes! This means you got hired. They won’t have you going to orientation that you’ll be paid for if you weren’t officially hired on. Congrats 😉👍🏻 And yes this means your background check has cleared, this has to clear before you get hired and start working. The calling of your employer was probably the NACI background agency.
I have a question if anyone can answer. I want to apply for a California Post Office job that doesn't require driving. Like mail processing clerk or mail handle assistant. I have a Nevada Driver license though. Do I need a California ID or Driver License to apply for a California job? I do live in California just haven't switched my Driver License to California.
Sorry for missing your question, I wouldn’t think so, but not for sure? 🤨🤔🤷♂️ I would go to your local Post Office(Main Branch) and ask to speak to the supervisor/manger and ask them them for a more of a solid answer 😉👍🏻

Have you done your fingerprints and NACI background check?
Did you have to do a drug test? Also, what are the days off? I’ve seen a video of a CCA saying they worked 38 days straight. Is this normal?
No on the drug testing! Days off depends on the need for carriers and the mail flow. I had different day/s off each week. No, they cannot work you that many days straight.
