Great review, and much appreciated, as I decided to go with the V40. Seems to me to be a much better deal, with the touchscreen, waterproof metal casing, external battery charger, longer battery life and remote control. All of those things are incredibly important to me, so it's an easy choice! I've only just started a TH-cam channel where I will be going deep into the wilderness and doing some adventurous things (once my camera arrives), so the sturdier, water proof V40 is the way to go.
Even though the V40 doesn't come with an external mic, you can plug one in. You just have to go into settings and select external mic when you're using one.
I agree with your test decision and statement. I also have 2 Campark Action Cameras. Once the Cp. x30 EIS & the v30 with EIS / GYRO. The statement was the same. The Cp x30 had a better picture in terms of sharpness, contrast and colour. Why ? I can only assume that the gyro stabilization needs so many resources that it is no longer sufficient for the video/image. Or the hardware of the Cp. X series are better than the V series. Thanks for comparing the two Cp. Models in video video.
Like you, I'm wanting to buy a B-roll camera. Naturally, my needs are a little different because I need it to not only be waterproof but also be able to be rigged to an external battery bank so that I don't have to keep changing batteries. So far, no luck on my end finding a GoPro alternative. I don't know about the Akaso Brave models but the lower versions don't allow filming without an Akaso brand battery in it.
Thanks for the review, Much appreciated! - May I suggest when reviewing cameras, We really need these to be uploaded in at least 2K not HD 1080p as The video's don't do any camera comparisons no matter what they are any justice whatsoever. HD 1080p Uploads are no longer relevant for those with higher resolution and refresh rate monitors and most will skip through to titles to find at least a 2K presentation. I hope you take this as constructive and not in malice. Thanks again, Take care mate from Australia. A thumbs Up for your great efforts.
Very nice! I'm between V40 and the Brave 7 LE. The dream would be to have a Insta 360 one x2, would love to bring one to some theme parks and film some rides! Got inspo from Let's Park it.
Thanks for the great review. It is interesting, I was leaning towards the V40 but I really do not like the way you have to access the battery and SD card. I checked prices here in the UK to see if that would help and it looks like the X35 is not available over here. This has been great in that it got us thinking about what features are essential for us and what is not required.
How's she goin'? Great review Dave!! You sure have them a great test and you touched on just about every option and feature in the cameras. I agree with you, no real clear winner. Just differences. So depending on what you want it for would make you decide which one to get. Thanks for the review and take care!!!
Thanks for the great review, it's almost long distance cycling time here in the UK so image stabilisation is a must, which did you think was a more stable pic as I couldn't compare on the video
Yeah.. No real winner in my opinion either. Guess it depends on what you need it for. I still like my go pro so far. Lol. You have a great day and week. Another thorough review! You Rock!
Awesome review! I think the 40 would be my choice. The audio seem to be really good even without a mic. Do these cameras start recording immediately upon turning it on or do you have to hit a record button once it's on? Also what is the amount of time that it takes for them to turn on to be able to record? Thank you!! I'm seriously looking into getting the 40.
Thanks for watching. The auto power on option puts the camera into driving mode (ideal for a dash cam). It does start recording as soon as it powers up (seems to be within 2 seconds). Not sure if the camera looses any of the standard features when it’s in driving mode?
Even though the V40 doesn't come with an external mic, you can plug an external mic into it, but you have to manually go into settings and select "external mic ". Mics are relatively inexpensive these days, so it's not a big deal to me that it didn't come with one.
Goltine Outdoors, I'm getting the V40 because of the more durable metal waterproof casing, the touchscreen, the longer lasting batteries, the external battery charger and the remote control. For my bush adventure videos, I want the more durable camera that is waterproof!
yes i thought the x35 was better but i would say that because i received mine this morning but yes looks a ok little camara for the price thanx for the video because i have never had one before so i don,t know how to set it up so im wondering have you got a video on how to set it up
Another great review. Yes the x35 did not have great sound. I think at least on my TV neither had great sound. But seemed ok for budget cams. Still using my Viture cams. And they are both blowing away my GP 8...(battery life 40min if your lucky..and that's just a start.)
Like I said before, you have the best, most thorough reviews out there. I've been eying up the GoPro 10. I'll be waiting for your review when it comes out...
How does the X35 power on? I bought an identical camera Bioche brand on Amazon and can't figure out how it turns on. Tried both batteries, charged the battery. Tried single buttons, dual buttons, short press, long press on buttons. Nothing is working. I tried it when I first got it several months ago and it worked, can't figure it out now? Thanks for the video and any help you can offer?
The X35 powers on by pressing and holding the “mode” button (top left button when looking at the rear screen). I wondering if your batteries died for some reason? Try using a usb cable to power the camera. It should automatically turn on when you plug in the usb cable
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial Thanks for the reply. I finally pulled the battery and checked voltage. It was good, so I re-installed the battery and it powered on. Not sure why, but apparently it was "locked up".
hello sir, im from india and im planning to buy action cam.. hear both campark x35 and x40 availabale on amazon . but im confused which i purchase . So if you dont mind guide me. Here in india x35 = 106 $ and X40 =160 $. . plz guide me as soon as possible.
Thanks for watching. Depends what you’ll need the camera for…as I mentioned the V40 is heavier duty and waterproof with a built in tripod mount while the x35 is a plastic frame camera that has an external microphone and might have sightly better picture quality.
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial 😂 a Perry County old timer I used to work with. every time we would drive past a pasture where the cows were laying would always say "cows are laying must be weather coming"
DON'T BUY CAMPARK is my advice. I loved my V40 until the battery connector fell out in the battery compartment after 5 months. In spite of Campark saying that there is a 12 month warranty, it turns out that you have to pay £70 return postage to have the faulty camera replaced if it is more than 3 months after purchase. As it would on have cost me £7 to send the camera to be repaired or replaced it isnobvious that Campark are charging users the trade price for a new camera meaning that the last 9 months of the warrantee is worthless. With the initial purchase price plus postage for the replacement ai would have anded up paying around £180 for a £100 camera that would be worthless if it failed again.
*Notice: After further testing the V40’s “Auto Power Mode” puts the camera in Driving Mode. When the camera is powered on it begins recording.

Very good and thorough test. I especially like the Pros and Cons being clearly laid out.
Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment 👍
Very good reviews - I like the V40. I order the XTU and it arrived today. Glad to have a camera as well as phones to video with. Good stuff!! 👍👍👍

Thanks Dave great reviews , I saw an x40 for sale with a broken battery lid so I guess that is a potential problem area .
Thanks for your input 👍

I think the external mike is a good accessory especially if your filming from the tree stand whispering.
Thanks for watching. You make a great point!! 👍
Good comprehensive review. I had a budget action camera but couldn't live with the fish eye finish. Someone told me I had the wrong settings. ✌
Yeah, most of them have a distortion correction settings. Thanks for watching John 👍
Yep, with most of then, just adjust the setting and you should be right.

Any external mic attached with v40?

Better than sjcam 👍
