Merkur 37c, it is milder but still quite efficient, a great razor in my opinion. Its reputation precedes it, it's probably the most liked slant across the shaving community and bonus, as a German gentleman, you'd support the motherland. The Razorock German 37 is an attempt to copy it and it is good as well but it is a bit more aggressive as it was copied from the earlier molds for the Merkur 37c and after that Merkur supposedly modified their molds and made the razor even smoother. Great shave btw, you're adventurous and you still did very well!
I agree. The Merkur 37C is an excellent daily driver. Comfortable, smooth and efficient. The Top Aggressive and KH aren't ideal choices for a daily driver. They're almost like a shavette on a stick. Lol!
Hi Heiko The Merkur 37c is a moderately aggressive razor and it's an exact copy of the Hoffritz slant razor produced in the 1930's. I have a beautiful Hoffritz but it's more aggressive than the 37c. Used the Hoffritz this morning and (like you) only needed two passes.

Dein Video hat mir aber definitiv Mut gemacht es demnächst einmal zu versuchen 😉 Erfreulich, dass die die Rasierer dein Gesicht komplett heil gelassen haben 👍 Solche mega-gründlichen Rasierer mögen zwar nicht unbedingt etwas für die tägliche Rasur sein, sind aber oft bei Leuten beliebt, die sich nur alle 2-3 Tage rasieren und haben in meinen Augen damit durchaus ihre Berechtigung. Great shave and real review. I have used Knight helmet and your expierience is the same like mine. If you want to try milder but efficient slant razors I will recommend Fatip Lo Storto. They have two versions gentile( mild foe everyday shave) and original - open comb with great efficiency. Keep on!!! Greetings from Macedonia
Very nice head to head comparison! I have been wondering about the Yaqi Slant and am excited to try it one day. Love my two slants. I have the Parker Semi Slant and the Razorock German 37. Both lovely shaves. I think you would like the Parker. It is the more mild of the two. Cheers and have a great week!
The DOC Slant is my daily razor for months now and I absolutely love it. I also own the beast and the knight-helmet, both being way too mild for me. This razor taught me a lot, it is pure aggression, one mistake and it will punish you (I had some wounds...) But on the other hand, if you keep shaving with it and learn from your mistakes, you get better and better and the shaves are just outstanding. It shaves me almost bbs in like 15 minutes, without having to go atg.
I have both of those heads myself. I personally find the KH to feel more aggressive. These are a great choice for a stepping stone in shavettes and straights.
Twenty years ago I owned a shavette and actually successfully shaved with it a few time but I just find to much work and effort to not cut yourself. I think DE shave is my sweet spot.
I asked my sis to get me a Duro from Walmart when they had it on sale for 11 bucks a few months ago - her answer: "I don't shop at Walmart". Damn. I want one, but since I have a rather small wrist, paying around 70-80 bucks here in Germany, knowing that others got it for 11 or even just 50, somehow bugs me. I'm cheap that way. Nice shave btw - but not for me. I was sweating just by watching. With all the razors you tried so far - which is your no. one/daily driver if you had to pick one?
Well done with not exactly daily shavers, I would think 2 passes is all you need with that type of aggression. Those razors are not on my want list though😜

I was looking for an aggressive razor with a standard head which holds the blade in a standard fashion with no over-exposure. I think I got my choice.

Leaf Twig hands down. #2 is a draw between Rockwell 6s #3 plate and Merkur 34c.
