Absolutely necessary in the spring/summer. 8" ipower inline fans for intake and exhaust ducted outside. Even with ambient temps outside of 90+ degrees, gpu temps on the top rig never got above 70°C. Housing 4x 8GPU rx580 rigs. In winter, I take down the tent and only use the intake as needed. Keeps my entire 2 bedroom apartment at 80°F even when wind chill is below 0°F. During summer I used foam board with sound dampening foam panels to seal in the noise. Worked like a charm.

None of them worked how I wanted and ended up being a folly. A grow tent took up too much space, cards got too hot and the inline fan was too loud. I bought a couple of the 6 GPU cases from a UK company called xcases and I couldn't be happier. GPUs are super cool and it's a very tidy solution. I would like to get one of their £200 racks but they are a bit big for my study. However, I'm not going to waste more money on a DIY option and will build a proper cabinet. It's much more satisfying to do things properly than to cut corners. Even if it does hurt ROI.
i have 1 farm with 8 rigs (6 gpu) in a small room and only use a Hole house windows fan, and works like a charm with veddha frame, they are all 1080ti and 1080 bellow 70 degress C all of them for more than 2 years now..
I have 2 tents in my garage, currently have all the shelves towards the back and rigs/ mini ASICS venting the warm air towards the front. Would I be better off flipping everything round? Having the warm air blowing towards the back of the tent? With both tents the heat extractor is at the top closer to the rear if that makes sense.
Do you still use grow tents for mining? I'm thinking before next spring/summer to buy and set mine up like that because summer this year was really rough.

However I have an amazing extractor which has an 8inch hose, however the extraction hole on the top of my tent is only 4inch. Is it worthwhile cutting that hole to 8inch? Will that make a difference to temps?

So just checking this is just a setup where your pumping in the air from outside and venting it out into your apartment? There is no Air conditioning unit involved?
hey RED JUST A QUICK COMMENT OFF TOPIC has any 1 noticed that using adenalain vr 19 + adds to ur power usage ive swapped drivers a few times and noticed it takes 200w more with modded cards when im using the latest ver driver.Now this is for amd 470 8g and 480 8G ANY ONE ELSE NOTICE THIS. now im running 4 cards 3 480 8G AND ONE 470 8 at the wall im pulling 728.2W IN ADRENALINE 19. WHATEVER ITS 976w ????????????

What is wattage consumption of your running rigs .....
12 x p104 rig according to hiveos is 1400 watts, rx 580 rig is 760 watts, gtx 1060 3gb rig is 400-500 watts.
I am solar man ... . I have 6*1080ti , 11* Vega 56 and 6* rx580. All consuming 750+1810+750 = 3300 watts ... Running since past 30 months
