i have a 97 i bought new 23 years ago. got sick of chains and mess in 2013 and built a belt drive for it. i used s 40 Savage pulleys and an industrial synchronous timing belt. 40 mm wide , 2001 mm long . looks just like Harley setup but better. belt rated for 400hp industrial electric motor. 5500 miles so far no probs. i am a welder and machinist so did all my own fabrication. send email to my email and ill send pics. used original back wheel but 86 yamaha front aluminum mag 7 spoke . same axle size and rotor diameter. narrower wheel . too much to list what iv'e done to it . here's info. krfreist@ gmail.com keep the shiny side up!

1986 yamaha mag. 19" same axle size and brake rotor diameter. just needs a spacer of about 5/8 inch on caliper bolts. fits my 97 .looks very different than original fat tire. almost exactly same outside tire circumference as original just narrower.i put a 40mm wide belt on mine. built it with s 40 Savage pulleys and an industrial synchronous timing belt. looks just like the Harley belt system .same exact size . took some fab work to left frame leg and swing arm but came out perfect. 5500 miles since build .no probs . pulls harder . no more messy , noisy, clunky p.o.s. chains for this one. no maintenance since install and still perfect. scoot works is garbage. i built this myself. belt rated for 400hp electric motor. got it from v belt supply for $107 came to my door. wish i did it years ago .i bought this bike new in 97.
@@KevinFreist does this type of wheel replacement require a new configuration for the chain/belt? Or can I still use my original chain on the new wheels?
@@Andrew-cb2mo yes it will. all the same till it went blvd s50. that is shaft drive. my back wheel is original marauder wheel with a custom pulley machined to fit. belt job not for a novice but front wheel swap not too bad .
The Marauder has a drum rear brake as standard. I am curious about the conversion to disc brake if anyone knows any info on that. Also what wheels are those? Cheers!

Those look like 17" GoldSpeed Wheels with Talon Hubs. 3.5" front with a 4.5" rear....but I could be wrong!
