Eddie Anderson, who played Rochester, was given full rights to the character, and Ebony Magazine listed him as the 2nd richest African-American in the United States.

I just discovered benny I always just thought he's old and probably not that good I have missed out on years of watching him. I was a teenager of 15yrs.old when he passed away so I never gave him a chance by just watching him not even one time. I missed out so now I'm trying to catch up. Rochester often makes jokes at Benny's expense or otherwise deflates his ego.
