Hi Kevin, actually when I opened this link it opened for PowerPoint. Can you please check. And thanks for this wonderful short video for introduction to Macros. Definitely, would like to learn more
@@KevinStratvert I tried opening but it displays playlist of powerpoint tips and tricks. And I am talking about the one which you've mentioned in comments for pivot tables and other stuffs. Anyways I have subscribed your channel so any playlist I can watch at anytime.:)
Thank you for filling this gap in my knowledge. I graduated with a bachelor's degree and a lot of us senior year came back from our internships and asked our professors to start including this in our curriculum because our competition had this knowledge and we felt behind.
I just told an interviewer that I don't know what macro is, although I told her I can learn it within a Day. I just stepped out, and googled it. Boom 💥, I saw your video and I learnt it within 10 mins. I don't know what are your heart desires. May GOD BE With YOU
First I thought macros is something so difficult to learn, your video helped me to understand this under 10 mins... Thanks a lot ... Keep up the good work. :)
Coded macros are often just copy pasted and adjusted to your needs. Only very complex macros are hard and difficult to make. But even chatGPT or other AI are great at writing them for you.
With respect, this is magical because it has been pre-prepared. It may be useful to explain potential pitfalls that don't require a PhD in Computer Science to understand the VBA coding. I consider myself a pretty advanced Excel user and simply cannot get the relative reference to work in a simple sorting procedure with multiple sets of similar columns. The results are utterly incomprehensible.
Thanks for a great video. If MS isn’t sponsoring these, they should. I learned more in watching a few of your videos than I learned in over 20 years of using the products. These videos make the products so much more valuable to me. These short videos are a big improvement over the complicated tutorials of the past. Nice easy and methodical instruction that shows all the little nuances that you never got from the manuals and previous workshops. You’re an awesome teacher. Keep it up.
Dude.... I was learning python to automate some repetitive "Soul Sucking" PDF form filling function at work, but after watching your videos I can do it all with MS office and Excel Macros!! Hot Diggity Dog!! Love your suggestions on how to use this new knowledge to your advantage. Personally, I'm just gonna, kick it back with some extra time with my kids. This is what TH-cam was meant for! Well at least for those who want to get ahead. Want you to know you have greatly and positively impacted another family's life with your video. Thank you!
Thak you Kevin, till now i'm using individual tools for different tasks, but after found your channel now i can do same tasks with MS Office, VLC, etc. You really make my job easy. Thanks again.
The explanation was great, following along with the visuals was easy, and the whole thing was short and compact. Great job man. You have a gift for teaching and I hope that it continues to be utilized and rewarded.
Kevin, thanks again for a great tutorial. Learning macros for me has been a long time coming along with pivot tables. Your examples will help increase my confidence to know I can do this. 🙂
Great tutorial, I start my first role since being made redundant due to Covid on Jan 4th and a big part of the job will include working on Excel so this is great! Thanks
I’m taking an engineer class for my computer science degree and it involves excel. It’s been incredibly easy so far so I looked up what might be hard on excel, it said “macros” but this is super simple too. Compared to complex coding in my CS classes this is super chill lol.
This was so helpful, Kevin. Many thanks. Been cracking my brains on how to edit and update my macro enabled spreadsheets , and this came along. Bless you.
Thank you so much, really awesome, this is what I am exactly looking for.. I like the last note to tell the manager how hard the task is and get free time to relax 😂
Thank you so much for the tutorial. Very brave of you to use your own info as an example. I'm older and new to this. I feel better with the security knowing you have that much faith to use your own personal info. Thank you very much for the informative video!!!
Thank you very much Mr. Stratvert your way of explaining the materials is organized, clear, simple, and understandable. I am very glad to discover your great channel
Thank you for this. You always explain things so clearly. I'm familiar with Macros but it's useful to have this overview . I'm on a Mac and have Microsoft 365 for Macs but Power Query isn't available for Macs so I'm going to focus on macros as the next best alternative and your tutorials are going to be a great help.
AWESOME - AWESOME - AWESOME! Wanted an easy button. You showed me now to insert a button and assign a macro to that button. THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU!
My dude said like the video and click the subscribe button at the end and as a person who reached the end with learned value I obeyed his instructions 😀
Hi Kevin, I really enjoy your excel videos. Can you please teach us macros in depth. How to pull them up again and again everyday in different sheets, VBA etc
Thank you Kevin, but, am advising not to select data by cursor because data range in different aspect. So, best way to select your data is by using keyboard shortcuts, Shift+Ctr+direction. This will work better in multi data issues than using cursor in selecting data... All in all, you did good job!!!

Thank you Kevin!! My Excel skills can just about stretch to pivot tables at the moment (LOL), however, in my new role I spend hours every morning / week pulling data from our systems into Excel and manipulating it into the format I need to present it. I really want to streamline the process and wondered if there is a way I can get the data to pull automatically, within certain parameters, from the systems we use and populate in the format I need. Happy to watch your videos if you have done one already on this :)
Mr. Stratvert: I think U could use/click the View Tab To Create A Macro. On the View Ribbon on the Far Right is the Macro Button. Great Video, The Developer Tab has other useful Functions that the View Tab doesn't have.💖
