Looking at this as somebody who actually has built a house before I'm interested but by the other standards of it I'm wondering if I could literally buy the materials cheaper and then what you're selling the kit

I really enjoyed your video, thanks. I like the blocking rotated 90 degrees to reduce thermal bridging and allow space for fishing wires between studs. I also like how you use "truss nailers" and purlin spacer blocks on the two end trusses. Very good ideas. Most of our roofs in my area are slightly different and don't have purlins. We also have over hangs on the gable ends so as a result we use "ladder trusses" on the ends. One question I did have is why you frame out the man door openings separately and then insert them into the wall? Is this for efficiency, accuracy or just a preference? We build them in the wall and therefore don't use the extra piece you have between the cripple and the 1st top plate. I believe that this piece has no real value and is redundant. Maybe I am missing something here. Cheer s John
