🔷 ABOUT SAMCRAFT 🔷
Samcraft is a channel all about educating, inspiring, motivating, encouraging, and sharing the things I've learned since starting my own small business in 2018.
In today's video I frame up the entire roof by myself! I set the trusses, brace the trusses, build latter rake eave overhangs, fly rafters, and attach the sub fascia boards to finish framing the entire roof of my 20 x 32 workshop. Let's go!

I have to say for you being a DIYer, it’s nice to see that you take pride in your workmanship. You do an amazing job and should be proud of your accomplishments
Thank you, I appreciate that!
That’s so awesome watching Elijah working the tractor and delivering you to the edges of the workshop and lifting you into place! Like a pro!
DUDE! You absolutely knocked it out of the park! I'm in the early planning stage of replacing our 10' x 12' backyard storage shed and you have shown me that it is totally possible to do it with very little assistance. Thank you! and the drone shots are on point!
Glad I could help encourage you! If I can do it, anyone can... with enough tools. LOL This was a huge job indeed, but no one thing unmanageable, thankfully!
Not only is the work done top notch the editing on the vids are great. I was like expecting some 18 year old to be driving the tractor not a little guy! LOL. Great tractor skills for a young one for sure!
Unbelievable. You've done all of this by yourself. I don't even know you and I'm so danged proud of you and what you've accomplished. Great job.
Elija helped
Yes, dad had a lot of trust in his son moving the tractor with him balanced on the attachment! 😬
I’m sure Elijah enjoyed helping his dad by driving the big rig. 🚜
Sam always finds something that both boys can help with, safely, thus learning life skills! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
For a man who doesn't like ladders (heights) you did an awesome with the help of the rolling scaffolding & your son driving the tractor. Good job fellas!
I didn't know that I got a man cage! Congrats!
Good job Sam. When I was in the seventh grade I passed by a house being built. One man did all the work himself. It was a two story A frame. He even built the brick chimney to the peak. Tenacity and determination pays off. 👍👍
That is awesome!
Put a 2 by gusset inside of your rake boards to keep them from moving. those toe-screwed fasteners can split out easier than fasteners through the face. The easiest way to measure one is to just trace it and cut it out.
Sam I cannot believe that you've done this all on your own that is totally incredible. You never cease to amazes me....Hugs
Great job, but it would have been a little slower without your tractor operator who did a great job.
Amazing Sam! Well done! Guessing that is a 4/12 pitch roof. Screwing it all should be extra stout especially with the hurricane ties. Would love to see a cost analysis / overview when it’s done. You’re rocking the shop!
Sam thats very impressive you were able place those trusses your self! And score that attachment to your tractor just paid for itself! So smart! You are so motivating ! Looks like I’m going to be able to start my shop build in the next several weeks .
Saweeeet!!!! You'll have to feed me update photos on your shop. :)
You definitely got the Scaffold shuffle dance down to a fine art.
Building is looking great.
Hope everyone is ok after yesterday storm rolling through.
Take care
Just last week I was wondering if I could do this solo. Looks like I can. Super helpful video!
Seriously amazing that you did that solo! Wow!!! Great job and loved the trick to stack the trusses to make for easier work! Very impressed!
Your struggles are about to be mine. 😂 Got my piers poured today. Thankfully I'm doing 2x6 trusses so I won't need as many. Thanks for the videos!
You got this!
Great work! that is one solid roof.
Wow! Looks great. I was proud of myself for building a 6 x 10 shed. Haha! Amazing job buddy. Great to see your son being able to help.
Building is looking good. One man crew. Great job
Hi Sam Angela & boys,it all looks amazing. You have done such a awesome job on your shop.Elijah is such a great kid to help out when you need him.🎄❤️🎄
Thank you so much 🤗
As we say Down Under, Respect Dude 😁
can't move a mountain over night , but you are sure giving it a go day by day . I have done these truss lifts for many a year and each time I show a new hire how to lift them from ground ,as I nailed , they were sometimes lost. You do make it look easy , which it is after you do one or two . On , one/half or two story , I would place 2-2x4 step splice slides on the gable end and ground crew could push the truss half way then I could pull and slide the truss to the opposite end , nail and block . You are doing a great job on your own !
The roof trusses are a beautiful work of percision.
They sure are! I really enjoyed seeing them up there all nice and uniform. :)
Great job Sam watching from Australia
Can't imagine I'm alone in saying I'm in awe of you. My fav thing on the tubes at the moment.
Looking good Sam. Kicking butt
Your shop is looking awesome. Great job
Make sure to add the 2x4 blocks on top of the drop gable between the eaves before you sheet the roof. love that rolling platform.
Great Job! Sharing this with my Son to prove it can be done.
Awesome! You can do it!
Nice Sam! Just plain AWESOME!!
I do love to watch how you work it’s so organized …..Ingenuous!…except for the forgetting the drill part! 😂😂😂
Nice looking good ,you and yours have a merry Christmas 🎄🎁
You are a roofer rockstar ! 👏👏👏 I hope you weren’t in those terrible storms last night, my granddaughter was, but she’s ok !
Amazing my lord on your own
Excellent job! Nice to see the young man handle that tractor so well.
Sam is knocking this project out of the park. Keep it up you've got this.
Great work ❤. I like the scaffolding idea.
Looks great!
Wow! What a difference between you now and when you did the roof on the mobile home in Carolina.
Amazing what one man can do!!!
Fantastic videography. Thanks for sharing.
You have great fore thought sam! Save yourself time!
It is remarkable that you did that by yourself and the timeframe you did. Give yourself a pad on the shoulder. 👏👏👏
Great job Sam it’s coming along so nice. Be safe God bless.
you always amaze me with your ability to get things done and explain everything so completely. Merry Christmas to you and your Family
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you and yours too!

What is the saying "necessity is the mother of invention" I love watching .
It’s looking NICE!
Lol 😂 that’s amazing, you are one smart cookie, love 💕 your videos, can’t your wife help you with some of that? You always worked together on other things, God bless!!
Not anymore, no. Her back limits her abilities on what she can do now. This kind of work is an absolute no go for her unfortunately.
Praying for her recovery, would love to see more of her in the video, even if she doesn’t do anything, love ❤️ you guys
It amazes me that you and the boys got that knocked out as quickly as you have (and they're picking up life skills I sure wish I would have had the opporunity to learn at their ages). And engineered trusses are definitely the way to go on something that size, for sure...
Amazing work! Looks strong. Impressive.
Your son is great help to you!!
Looking great

Sam the scaffolding is a time, back and leg saver.
I used one too after my house got smoke damage.
Cleaning, painting 10 ft ceilings.
Glad you decided to go that route.
