So glad you did not take your mothers advice to not show the unfinished rooms. I think its so important that people see the reality of a chateau, not just the beautiful finished product. You have accomplished so much, and can be so proud of everything you have done. Of course there will always be more, but its the process thats more important than the end. Well done. Loving every single moment!!
Your enthusiasm is catching! I love how you present your home. Actually seeing the rooms, not the spoke person, though you are well spoken and friendly. I suspect that you are a bit of a perfectionist 🤭 Thank you for sharing!
I truly appreciate seeing the before, shows us what kind of and how much work needs to be done to restore what is now becoming a beautiful home once again! No need to feel embarrassed, you didn’t create the mess but rather you and many others are painstakingly and lovingly restoring this very old, well used Chateau. It’s a lot of work and a huge financial commitment too. Well done! Mummy is a hoot! Love her apartment, so sweet of you!
As much as I like your mum, I think you are right: It was a good idea to show rooms like the laundry. That was really interesting to me and fun to watch, too. Your mum is champion, btw.
Thank you for treating your viewers as old and dear friends and allowing us into your most real and unfinished rooms. You and Michael are remarkably talented and gifted in so many areas. I’ve only recently discovered yours and Michael’s channels and am delighted with everything I’ve seen. I also appreciate your down to earth manner, considering your beauty and operatic voice, you’ve maintained a sense of delight, humility and genuine relatability. Best wishes to you and your chateau family!
I love your fathers art. You should definitely get those gorgeous originals, printed and sell those to the public. Not postcard size but original size....in frames. Any size would do. You could command a fortune and it would be a wonderful opportunity to showcase your fathers work, world wide. Maybe your father is telling you this from the other side? Maybe he's secretly trying to help you financially, in your Chateau renovations?
Take a snapshot of the laundry room’s pipes & tubes so that when you’re not at the château you’re able to look at your snap shot & provide instructions. Also, put a label on all your pipes & tubes. Good luck 🍀

I love your fathers work and was very happy to see so many more of his paintings around the house. Has there ever been a book made about him? I would love to have prints of his paintings. Happy Easter! X
Until the sheep moved I thought 27:02 was a realist landscape by a master. Beautiful chateau and a nice video. I love how your storytelling brings the place to life 😀😀😀
Your videos are delightful! And I so much agree with you (apologies to your mama) about showing your viewers the chateau as it is. That's what people WANT to see -- the old, the magical, the development and transformation. I personally do not like the videos of chateaux that are perfect and look like real estate videos :( This is so much fun! Okay ... now to finish watching.
Next time I’m in France I know where I’m staying! Would that I had dared a project the size of yours when I was still young enough to take it on. I settled on much smaller properties in the US. It is so satisfying to restore an old home. We are just the current guardians of these old homes and must preserve them for the generations to come. As they say, they don’t build them like that any more.
Your father was a really talented artist, I love his work. And I can't wait to see the progress in the restoration and decoration of the rest of the chateau and chapel. I really wish, that I would be able to be a volunteer at the chateau sometime in the future.
Thank you so much , for this delightful tour ! Now we know a bit more about this magnificent chateau where you live , with the most sweet Mummy ever.your attention to details with keeping with the caractere of the place is so good and refraiching. I love that we are able to witness the transformation from what you started with to what your creating! All the realities of renovating such an estate are of interest and there is no such thing as too many details or a pause too long for viewers to take it all in. You are fun which makes our visits to short!
That Schumacher fabric in the Marquis' bedroom has me drooling! The rich dark saturated colors... and it looks to be pure linen! It's wonderful to see the beautiful rooms, but I really, really enjoyed seeing the more 'utilitarian' rooms in all their realistic 'oldness' and beauty and the interesting object strewn about them! Thanks for this tour!

I love how you keep the history behind the chateau alive with the names of the rooms, same with the videos of the work in progress type rooms! It’s cool to see the bathroom like it was - kind of transports you back in time. Will be a great memento to look back on too when you get around to fixing it up!
I love the unfinished tours as much as the completed rooms! As you said, the best part is being able to dream of the possibilities! It makes seeing the room transformations all the more special.
I love all your videos, Stephanie, and have been looking forward to this one, in particular. I am near the beginning of it, and wanted to suggest you might video yourself repairing or servicing the geothermal unit, so that, in your absence, someone there could see how to do so. People - myself included - learn how to do many things from TH-cam videos, these days. You are so good at making these videos, so you could put that skill together with your skill with the unit. ♥️ Now, I have watched the entire video. I so enjoyed seeing all the private rooms you showed us. Your taste is divine. Thank you for sharing it all with us.
I love to see the rooms not decorated yet, it gives a feel of what you have overcome and have delt with on your journey. Love the windowsill in the toilet and the flooring.thankyou for sharing with us.
Thank you so much for showing us your home. I love the furnishings and fabrics. It reminds me of my two friends who left England and made their home in France near La Reole near the Gironde river many years ago, money was in short supply and they hunted around second hand shops to furnish their property. A lot of the furniture was in a similar style and they eventually made a lovely home together. You’ve done great work with the fabrics in making curtains etc. The chateau looks fascinating, it looks like you’ve filled it with life and love.
A bedhead from an old mirror frame! What an ingenious idea! But then Stephanie you are the child of two very intelligent & creative people, so can we expect anything else than brilliance? I think not. Mess or no mess please show us every part of the chateau. It’s the way that you present it by your commentary that makes it so interesting, & who does not have at least on less than tidy room in ones home? I do. Thanks for showing us around & take care.❤️
@@TheChateauDiaries William Morris inspirations come to mind with Gothic, rich colour and full of possibilities, japan black architraves, simple furniture and strong wallpapers; rooms like these become magical at night. Interestingly the Chapel has a gothic look as well, and the exterior and interior design could be considered in decorating the room. If the visual link is there through the window, it could be another room in your beautiful Chateau that acknowledges it's historical past. Thanks you so much for the tour, interiors are exquisite and it made a isolated day feel so much better.
I stumbled upon your channel a few days ago by accident and I haven’t been thinking about anything else ever since! The atmosphere in Lalande seems so magical. Thank you for your vlogs Stephanie, I hadn’t known this kind of lifestyle existed until watching your videos and it has blown my mind. You all are really inspiring and your positive energy is infectious. I hope I will be able to come visit you next summer (and hopefully stay as a volunteer, that would be a dream come true) :)
Thank you, especially for showing the nooks and crannies! This has been my favorite so far in seeing all that you have done. No wonder people love staying there.
Once again Stephanie you help us all to escape into the beautiful world which is your daily Chateau life and for this I am extremely grateful to you and all your Chateau family. 💜🧡💜🌟🧚🏻♂️😊
I can hardly wait to hear about or see your plans & completion for the private areas of your beautiful chateau. Even the mess isn't a mess. It is just like old houses, it is part of the living history. I love everthing about it. I have an old 1927 bungalow. I knew the minute I walked into the house that I was going to make an offer. I look forward to many of an enjoyable hour watching your videos. Mercie!
Oh lordy, I wish I had a fabulous French Chateau to love and restore! 😢 Its a sad week for myself and my family. We were coming for a week over Easter to our little former cow shed in a tiny hamlet Chez le Maçon in Vienne region. What's particularly galling is that we are stuck in a damp rented house in Cambridgeshire....knowing we could be doing masses of DIY jobs in France. We are supposedly moving permanently in August....😷 fingers crossed that will be possible or I may get mad with envy watching your fabulous vlogs! 😄
I'm glad you showed the unfinished areas. Its let's us see the reality of Chateau living. I like the servants bedrooms in the servants area much better then they guest rooms they are much cozied. The guest rooms look like hand me downs. The bed hangings in your mother's room and the marquise room is what I was expecting in the guest rooms. If I was a paying guest I would prefer the staff bedrooms.
So beautiful...everythimg looks amazingly lovely! Your mother's apartment is gorgeous, and I love the paintings; particularly the large brown and russett to the left of the bed, with the gold lines running through it. Every room seems to have its own character. I love the Marquis' apartment. It feels to me as though there may be some spirit guests in there. I love the overhead shots done by drone. I really wish you would do a full feature of the chateau and lands taken by drone. I would like to see overhead views from a good height to see if any archaeological features are apparent, e.g. patterns in the soil indicating gardens, outbuildings, and so forth. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home 💗🌷💗🌷💗🌷💗
Wow, discovering your Chateau Diaries, I'm determined to come back to France and would love to volunteer for a short visit sometime in 2020. I'm an Artist Stephanie. I enjoy your videos

Hi Stephanie! I just recently found your channel and started to watch your videos. It will take some time to watch them all, but I am sure I will enjoy every single one of them. I am from Puerto Rico, but I have been living in south Texas for 22 years. I LOVE, LOVE,LOVE all that has to do with castles or château in Europe. I find it very interesting the process of restoring of old properties, but chateaus are fascinating!
I have had the most amazing afternoon, curled up in my favorite chair with a cup of tea and watching you and Michael show us so many special places in your Chateau's. I love seeing the unfinished rooms in their current state and hearing the wonderful ideas and plans of what is next to come. Thank you for showing us this magnificent Chateau. In the future when we get to see the rooms finished we will have memories of her almost undressed and waiting for your talents to dress her in marvelous materials, luscious paints, wallpapers, furniture and accessories, which she deserves. xoxo
I just love, love, love what you have done in your beautiful chateau and bringing it back to life. You are a strong woman, brava. When showing your undecorated parts we were shown a collection of stone jars and i wonder what you think of this idea. ? You mentioned that you would love to have a shelf put up over the kitchen alcove where you have your two stoves, well how about displaying these stone jars on said shelf ?! You have probably already thought about this, it's just that your enthusiasm is catching. I look forward visiting you sometime when this strange time we are all experiencing is over. Bizz, bizz, from another part of France.
@thechateauxdiaries Stephanie -take a picture of all those pipes, valves and have it in your phone in case you’re away. That way you can direct what to do in an emergency.
Your home is so wonderful and dreamy. Thank you for sharing it with us❤️ However, I know that if I had a weekend and lots of wine, I could perfectly organize your laundry room and store room and would do so with a smile on my face because of all the beautiful things!!
I love nooks and cranies and unfinished rooms they make my imagination go into overdrive. Don't be embarrassed by the state of the rooms, but can understand your frustration at wanting to finish them. Love the details in each and every room, like the design of the doors in Michael 's future room. In other words love the Château and can't wait to see more of it. Until next time to and stay safe❤

I love how you keep the history behind the chateau alive with the names of the rooms, same with the videos of the work in progress type rooms! It’s cool to see the bathroom like it was - kind of transports you back in time. Will be a great memento to look back on too when you get around to fixing it up!
Doing it Ourselves sent me over HELLO!!!! from sunny Florida
Now, I have watched the entire video. I so enjoyed seeing all the private rooms you showed us. Your taste is divine. Thank you for sharing it all with us.
That’s a lovely idea. I did make a little chart, but a video is a good idea
The Chateau Diaries That is another good idea for it, absolutely.
I'm so glad you are showing the unfinished areas, it's such an interesting building 👍
Stephanie I’m in awe of all that you have accomplished at the Chateau 💚 I continue to be enchanted 💚
The tapestry your mom made and the painting in Michael's apt just BEAUTIFUL.
Regarding decorating Michael P's room, I'd go Gothic. Will fit perfectly the casket shaped doors! Loved the tour.
I like your thinking!!!
I was just thinking the same thing, Coffin shaped doors. Why? if there ever was a reason.
No wonder people love staying there.
love love your father's paintings!!
Once again Stephanie you help us all to escape into the beautiful world which is your daily Chateau life and for this I am extremely grateful to you and all your Chateau family. 💜🧡💜🌟🧚🏻♂️😊
This young lady is just nothing more than class. She is so educated, and so intelligent. Her taste is impeccable.
Let’s hope you can move in August as you planned. Best wishes
Oh I have seen the renovation of the bathroom ! It’s stunning!
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home
💗🌷💗🌷💗🌷💗
I absolutely love this video and can imagine myself, strolling with you while you proudly show us a tour of your beautiful chateau
I want to see the amazing charity shops where you seem to find everything! After you finish the tour of course!
YAY! A bedroom for Michael Petherick at La Lande! I can't wait to see the finished produit! It's going to be so fab!
Wow, discovering your Chateau Diaries, I'm determined to come back to France and would love to volunteer for a short visit sometime in 2020.
I'm an Artist Stephanie. I enjoy your videos
Your videos have been keeping me going during this lockdown! ❤️
So gorgeous! I especially like Michael's private entrance into his tower room. :)
That was enjoyable. Lovely to see how it all fits together. Can’t wait for the next tour. You have decorated the chateau so beautifully. 🥰
Thank you so much for sharing your home, the chateau, with it's many BEAUTIFUL rooms!!! so much beauty and inspiration and joy to be found here on your channel and in your home😍❤❤❤❤
Your chateau is absolutely stunning. Living there would be a dream! Gorgeous.
I’ve been watching several of your tours today. I absolutely love the amount of light throughout the Chateau!
Love the idea of creating art from book pages. My mom used to do that too. Even the private areas are brimming with style! 🏰
Please don’t make us wait too long! I have watched every single video plus michaels in the last week and I am hooked. Amazing i would love to come and stay one day
I have never loved your videos more! I so appreciate your spirit and joie de virve!!

Stephanie, I have so much respect and admiration for you for undertaking such a large project and for sticking to it all these years. Your tireless endurance, creativity, and optimism are a source of inspiration. I always look forward to learning a lot from your videos!
Wow, Stephanie, the apartments are incredible!! Especially your mothers. Well done!!
Hi Stephanie - I am so amazed by your father's art! His works could be in museums. So stunning.
Watching your videos has made my quarrantine SO much more bearable. You offer an escape and joyful persona and it is just all so wonderful.
I truly enjoy your treasured chateau. I've been watching all of your videos from the beginning but had to skip to see these private tours. I'm on video 49 and can't wait to see the rest. 🥰

I scour the internet to see as much of this world's architecture as possible and I am ECSTATIC to have found your channel!!!!!! Your home is a marvel and a dream!!! I very much wish I could visit this loveliest of places on earth, but I am beyond excited to get the pleasure of watching ALL of your videos you have uploaded!!!! If you only knew the way your channel feeds my soul and inflames my love for architecture!!!!!! Its awesome!!!! Sending love and gratitude from Louisiana!!!
Thank you for sharing it with us❤️
However, I know that if I had a weekend and lots of wine, I could perfectly organize your laundry room and store room and would do so with a smile on my face because of all the beautiful things!!
So enjoyable - loved everything 👌🏰⚜🎀 especially your Father's artwork 🖼💛. My favourite so far, is the colourful detailed equestrian themed one in Michael's apartment - stunning. Thank you Stephanie. Beautiful blessings Mandy 👑SA
Your talents know no boundary. It’s all so beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
I can totally see downstairs bathroom walls in light pink color🐖 and for sink cabinet to be white cream color with a golden trim around😊
