Charlie, your humility, excitement, and attitude are what make your videos so enjoyable - you've got all of us rooting for you the whole time. So happy for you that you got to live out a dream!! That last landing was incredible!!
Charlie, this is by far the most fun video I've seen on your channel yet. Great camera work, great editing, great narration, etc. I'm a former wide-body airline pilot (both in terms of aircraft and my own girth, by the way 😆) - and these days flying a Citation in Part 91 ops. Much as I love flying jets (even the Slowtation, if you can call it a jet), one of these days I'll be hanging up my hat and retiring from this game. When that happens, THIS is the kind of flying I want to do. Keep up the great work. 👍🏼
Thanks Bradley! Really appreciate that, and glad you enjoyed the video! Sounds like you're still getting to do some really awesome flying in the meantime :)
I was all in with the video. I have a tail dragger and this is my mission, what I love to do. Excellent video, I will have to watch it more than once, waiting for your lessons learn video!
You had the best instruction from Fink. I’m a friend of his up here in Washington and have flown with him. Excellent pilot and more important excellent guy.
@@AirplaneAcademy You are also encouraging and I appreciate your work. You helped me through my IFR and Commercial. I feel like I know the Kings personally at this point... ;-)
I had goosebumps watching your sandbar landing. Awesome flight, video and experience. You rock and a single thumbs up is not enough. So you get two thumbs up from me, Maverick.
Great Video, I took the TacAero course in one of their Carbon Cubs before taking delivery of mine, Ian and Kris run a fantastic operation! Glad you are able to share this.
Great job Charlie. That looked like so much fun. I am currently in training for my PPL, and I will have to give this a try after I get a little more time under my belt. Thank you for sharing this with us. Keep up the excellent work. Safe skies 🇺🇸🛩️
I'm actually surprised you haven't practiced spot landings more. As a flight instructor, it would be good for you to become very proficient in not only spot landings, but power-off spot landings. You definitely want to be proficient in hitting an exact intended touchdown point in a power off/engine failure scenario. This is also an invaluable skill to pass on to students. This is something that takes a lot of practice and time in a specific aircraft, to know that individual aircraft well enough that you can know exactly how much speed to carry, what that descent rate looks like, and how long it will float in the flare, as well as how short it is capable of stopping. All of this will lead up to you being able to pick a good landing spot in the event of an emergency power failure situation.
I am actually working on a few now! It took me a lot longer than I was hoping. I will link it in this video and also post them on the channel in the next 6-8 weeks.

Great job Charlie. That looked like so much fun. I am currently in training for my PPL, and I will have to give this a try after I get a little more time under my belt. Thank you for sharing this with us. Keep up the excellent work. Safe skies 🇺🇸🛩️

Awesomeness
Did you ever make a second video of your Tac-Aero training?
I am actually working on a few now! It took me a lot longer than I was hoping. I will link it in this video and also post them on the channel in the next 6-8 weeks.
Great Vid!!
Thanks!
I loved this video 😊👍🏼 It must have taken so much effort to edit. Nice work! 🥳
Thanks! It was a ton of work editing it. But fun and worth it!
@@AirplaneAcademy Definitely worth it 😊👍🏼
Love the channel. You need the app fly like a local if your flying general aviation
Do they normally have a chase plane for coaching or is that for filming?
That was for filming purposes.
This makes me want to buy a carbon cub! Those look like a lot of fun to fly.
yeehaw!!
10 PROPS out of 5!!!
Haha! Way to remember the props score. I was so focused during these flights I forgot to mention it!
Hey I’m offended by that !!! I’m a tall chubby Michigan pilot !!! Lol😂
haha! You still probably look cooler than me though
use your slip to drop that plane and drop some energy.
