Ever noticed that the inmates watch all sorts of mind numbing stuff on the TV but whenever anything comes on about Wentworth they spring up and turn it off.
Mari is so cocky. I love that stance she takes when she's leaning back on something, hand on hip, with her nose up in the air. She always knows what she's doing and nothing shakes her.
Very impressed with Ian Smith (Ted Douglas) composing and performing the Giorgio Moroder styled dramatic music, a very talented man. Apparently he also choreographed all fight scenes as well.
There's a riot going on and Margo makes an appearance. Trust her to show up when there's trouble. Dunno how she managed to get herself a new hairdo in solitary lol.
Sounds like an awesome drinking game but you would have to include anytime they mention being short staffed and double shots when Erica puts files in the top draw fileing cabinet.
Erica on the megaphone: "You women in there! Can you hear me? this is Mrs Davidson, I've just been to the hairdressers, it's a new year and I have a new style! I'm letting my hair down so you will no longer feel harassed or intimidated when you visit my office. If you stop this riot now, I promise you that you will not lose your buy up for the rest of the week and the department has advised me that you mey be able to have small portions of elcohol in your cells and a toilet to be installed in each cell. Let me make this clear, my hair is not, repeat not tied in a bun which resembles the back end of a feline. That will be all, it's getting windy and cold and I shant stay outdoors too long. Thank yo.
I mean, I genuinely do love the Hazel Kent character. She's a proper criminal type. Not one of the exaggerated stereotypes that the writers are so fond of. But the lass is regularly bemoaning that she is stuck in there for years, and can't be with her kids.. THEN charges along at the front of a baying mob in a riot. It's not rocket salad Hazel love. lol
This is 1980's television! The women are taking Steve's clothes off! When did Margo get back? That lame punch by Steve and even lamer fall by Margo LMAO!
Been a long time since we saw sausages in the dining room… Literally they were eating sausage and eggs with Doreen for breakfast a couple of episodes ago. 🙄
And another thing, if I had a pound for every time they say the word "department" I would have been able to afford to buy the complete DVD box set myself including the air fair to pay for it down under. As it happens I havent so a big thank you to PrisonerCBH95 for uploading it, but god do they have to say "Depaaaartment" so flippin much!!!!!!!!
This episode in particular makes you realise how different a situation like that could/would have been with mobile phones. At the time 1980 seemed "modern"

Officer 'Mute' Barfield is the dark haired one who doesn't talk. She always looks totally lost and never seems to have a clue as to whats going on !! LOL
I never understood why Meg freaked out. She was normally quite calm in a riot, especially considering she was held hostage in the last 2 riots and stayed calmer.
@ 5:38 - Meg really is completely worthless in any job. If she isn’t willing to fire let alone even wield a rifle during a prison siege, she has absolutely no business being an officer. Also, she froze like a deer in headlights when the riot started.
Trust Margo to liven schemes up with such surly negativity. Mrs. Davidson sounds just like my old Deputy Head from all-girl's Boarding School. And Meg is about as much use as a parrot going into bat for The Ashes.
I know. I used to work across the road from Hyde Park in Sydney and the number of homeless people was horrifying. Bet they would have liked a bed inside and 3 meals a day.
Bloody hell - Bea's husband has made more comebacks than Jason Vorhees. 16:11 - "OK, you, stand there and slap your baton against your hand." - does anyone actually ever do that shit...? 41:10 - Margo gently climbs her way down and hurts herself how exactly...? 43:23 - wow - a solid brick wall just moved.
Douglas never learns.... By refusing to negotiate with the women he is just further fueling their anger, which in turn puts the officers trapped inside in even more danger. Staff safety should be of paramount importance to him but all he cares about is power and control for his own purpose. I'm going to start finishing every sentence I say with "very well"... Just like Mrs Davison does..... Very well.
Erica Davidson ... LEGEND 🎉
If that will make you happy, then.... Very well ;) hehe
Have become glued to this series...I’ve reached the # 240 episode...and still watching ! (Newbie)
You posted this 7 months back! 😂have you finished it yet? This is my third time going through it (Over a 15 year period). And still loving it
@@reoreborn, I've lost how many times I've re-watched the series, this does include the original run back in the late 70s/80s
Yep awesome series for any generation very excellent and addictive
You know it's going to be a great episode when the dramatic music continues through the mugshot credits
Erica Davidson always reminded me of mixture of Maggie Thatcher & Queen Elizabeth II.
Please don’t sully the name of our late dear Queen with that evil cow Thatcher!
Ever noticed that the inmates watch all sorts of mind numbing stuff on the TV but whenever anything comes on about Wentworth they spring up and turn it off.
Wouldn’t you just love to wipe the smirk off Powells face
yep, and then wipe Marie Winter's smirk off of her face.
RIP, Wayne Jarrat. He was so young. :(
Yes, of a brain tumour. He was only 31 :-(
Very sad.

Me and now 2025 ,watching all over again been watching since the 80s

Wew, wew, wew...
LOL Margo's "fall" from the table has to be one of the worst "stunts" in TV history
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
and the punch coming from the loft which makes her fall, terrible it doesn't even touch her
This is one of many reasons why I love prisoner 😂😂😂
Very impressed with Ian Smith (Ted Douglas) composing and performing the Giorgio Moroder styled dramatic music, a very talented man. Apparently he also choreographed all fight scenes as well.
I love hearing facts like this. Thank you 😊
The irony his character is completely against prison uproar 😂
No he didn't actually..They also had stunt artists for fight scenes too..Unless your comment is tongue in cheek, ironic lol
It reminds me of a John carpenter movie like escape from new York with all the early synth.
Never heard Erica mention the words very well so much in this episode.
The riot took its toll on the officers so much that Barfield almost said something at 21:35!
Has anyone noticed that every hospital scene the tannoy always asks for Drs Wright & Brown?? Or am I just sad ?? 😂😂
"A screw loose in a prison" 😅😂
There's a riot going on and Margo makes an appearance. Trust her to show up when there's trouble. Dunno how she managed to get herself a new hairdo in solitary lol.
I know and it's really bad.
Margo stuck her finger in a plug socket
She wasn’t in solitary she was in another block

NativeMoon you'd be drunk in 5 min

I like how the sheila's come walking out with brooms and Winter says "Good now we can break out" hahahaha
Davo on the megaphone 😂
In all her campest finery. Davo on it is Prisoner at its Best.

Davo's hair is her super power
Mouse eating her sandwich. Too lovely for words!!
I love how she just picks it up without knowing who made it or where it's been.
Mouse still looks the bloody same today (2019) and I mean the same. Grrrr!!!
still cannot believe they ssid she was 19 when she died. She looked 30!
Watched 11 episodes today needless to say I've not got a lot done,oh well.
Yep, sitting here at 5:44 AM and wondering why I do this to myself
Once you start,you cant stop.🤩

Hazel, or Haze to her friends, lives in a drunken haze most of the time
I love how the guard sneaks in the kitchen to make a sandwich while on the run.
Jim becomes The Terminator ..... go jim go!!! Blimey
A good ol' fashioned riot at Wentworth. Lovely stuff !!
Crikey. Gaffney, Winter in the same space! Imagine if Frankie Doyle had been there as well! 🤣
Add in Nola Mckenzie, Bev Baker and David Bridges it would be a right bloodbath haha.
40 more episodes until the freak arrives. Not that I'm keeping count or anything 😄
@nikki dericott - neither am I lol
I thought it was just me counting down 😃
This is my suggestion for the best episode of prisoner EVER
Best episode is 326 the end of the 1982 season.
Agree! I got hooked on Prisoner during the Sandy Edwards arc.
they barricade the door with a bench chair haha love it
Who else is here in 2023 binge watching after watching Wentworth for the 3rd time?
I did this last year {it took 11 months) and I'm trying hard not to do it again this year!
Meeeee, i just watched the great fire- 326. Omg the best episode of the whole series!
I’m watching in May 2024.

That barricade though. 😆🤣

Sandy's riot was my favourite of the various riots at Wentworth
Makes me laugh that this episode has the riot alarm go off before Jim runs off to swith it on 😅
You can tell Marie is going to be a big problem for Sandy. Jim Fletcher is one of the best screws. Not afraid to get his hands dirty.
Guess the army experience helps
Bea's husband back from the dead ... Again for the 4th time as the cop !
Not even Jesus managed miracles like that lol
He's made almost as many come backs as the magic table cloth
Haha - beat me to it by four years!
Lazarus Smith

I know. They always have sausages.
Gaffney's fall is the best piece of action in the history of the universe. Official. I will set my dog on anybody who disagrees.
1st episode of the 4th season.
Joan Barfield with that gun though!!! Where did Margo suddenly come from?

So true, I counted 14 mentions in 1 episode a while back.
Erica probably would need to get clearance from the department just to put the kettle on.
Or Fletch mentioning the word ''rosters''.
@@nickprince9881 Hahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
@@nickprince9881 I wouldn't be surprised.
I've just realised - the riot marks the end of Erica's beehive hair.
Very well.
There had been a break in production between series 3 and 4. Time for a new style!!
lmao at Hazel, how stupid of her to think they wouldn't use the guns lmao
Powell's smirky badmouthing of everyone around her, even Meg, makes Vera seem like a sympathetic character--and Vera was a complete monster!
the actress who played Powell is brutal, terrible actress who can't stop smirking like a twat when she is not meant to
AmandaClody No, I'm pretty sure the smirking was in the script.
TallSilentGuy Always looks as though Powell is about to burst out laughing, trying to hold back behind her smirks !
I agree, poor acting - fiona was so talented
They must have wanted her to smirk like that.
They call the staff , screws constantly, but call the staff room the staff room . Why not screw room
Nobody has bothered to tell Erica, i suppose she'll find out when she clocks in at 9am.
OMG!! That alarm is sooooo loud!! My cat is freakin out, poor girl. lol but still, poor kitty
Why didn't Steve just stay put in the ceiling. I would have just made myself comfortable and waited it out.
0:37 The riot alarm was able to sound itself before Fletch got to it 😂
"Momma" Davo ain't gonna be too happy when she gets there.
Now at the end of episode 246 it was just an alarm bell that Fletch ran off to start - now at the start of episode 247 there is a siren as well.
Good old Prisoner continuity.
So Gaffneys been in solitary since 1980??

Why hasn't Lizzie ran for the booze in Davos office?
She wasn't involved in the riot as she'd been transferred to another block after Colleen caught her with stealing in the kitchen in the last episode
Since a lot of this chaos happens as a result of Ted's decisions, why doesn't the ministry just fire him?
well for one thing he was a writer on the show dont think he would sack himself

He was also the old bloke who gave Mouse a roadside cuppa tea in the bush when she was on the run.
He did get around a bit.
I never understood why Meg freaked out. She was normally quite calm in a riot, especially considering she was held hostage in the last 2 riots and stayed calmer.
She had to freak out just to let Mrs.Powell feel important. Even during a riot Meg is still thinking of others.
She freaked out because it brought back memories from when her first husband was killed
Wentworth only boosted this mermerizingly, awesome series!!!!!

43:23 - wow - a solid brick wall just moved.
Always a turn-on when an episode starts with the riot siren and action music continuing through the normally silent opening mug shot credits!
I think this may have possibly been the first time in the series that the music continued over the mug shots sequence.
Douglas never learns.... By refusing to negotiate with the women he is just further fueling their anger, which in turn puts the officers trapped inside in even more danger. Staff safety should be of paramount importance to him but all he cares about is power and control for his own purpose.
