I'm a fan of the Personna Blue. Personna is the blades my grandfathers, uncles and my father used, and it's the blade I turn too must often. And as you pointed out, they work consistently in all my razors, Gillette Fatboy & Slim, Viking Blade Emperor and Parker adjustable, Edwin Jagger, etc., Personna is my go too blade for about 85% of my saving. I also enjoy using Astra Platinum and I have a Razor loaded with a Derby Extra blade for my quick shaves or traveling. Great review, and you articulated well my feeling about the Personna blades. I also have a sentimental attachment to these blades. When saving with them, I almost see my father or grandfathers' refection and hear them going on about what great blades the Personna blades are. Aho!
Feathers when tested were not the sharpest, both the bic platinum chrome and gillette nacet came out sharper. The engineer who does laser honing at our company noted a few things. The sharpness difference between the 10 blades we tested were so close that it should be a factor on how it shaves. Things the will drastically change blade feel are coatings, and the current maintenance on the equipment, every few months those machines are repaired tuned up and new grinding wheels are replaced, meaning that pack of blades you bought last year may shave very differently then the pack you bought last week. A lot of people think coatings don't make much of a difference and that they are wiped away after the first shave, but how it affects the blade is that it fills in imperfections on the cutting edge, but if that coating is over done it can actually make the blade appear dull until it works down, but the coating that has filled in imperfections remain. In addition some blades feel sharper due to the width of the blade, thin blades feel sharper but the cutting edge may not be as sharp as another thicker blade.
Derby Extra Green Label😊 I find that razor blade glides over my face so smooth, and leaves my face and skin feeling smooth bare and refreshed... I usually get three shaves per blade, and they can be purchased for a very reasonable price 🙂
I love my Shaverboy blades! They’re perfect for me. Medium beard with regular skin. Gillette silver blue work well for me as well. I alternate between a de89 ( edwin jagger) 24c and 34c( merkur) and a 1964 Gillette super speed. Nice vid🤙🏻.
I've been Shaving with a DE razor now for several years. You mentioned the Personna Blues (blue packaging with red outline). I have some of those, as well as the ones that come in all red tucks. What's the difference between the two? Of course, I'm aware that Personna makes the Lab Blues, Med Preps, as well as some other blades like the Eddison Stainless, Personna Royal, Personna Tomy and Vikings Sword.
Hey Majestic Shaver, just wanted to point out that the ones in the picture were Personna Israeli Reds and not Personna blues. It might seem tricky but the name derives from the Mexican packaging (that is red) and the ones you have shown had the UK packaging (but are the same Israeli Red blades).
Personna -Not for me ,not so sharp and not so forgiving for a Coarse Stubble ,Personna is a blow out after 2 shaves for me... I'll go with a Artist blade Hands down !
Allot of people mentioned a similar experience (perhaps not quite as bad as yours) but its due to the teflon coating. Try a second shave with the same blade
According to measurements, the Bolzano blade is amongst the least sharp blades. So no, it is not a Feather-like blade at all, but the exact opposite. And my personal experience backs that up: it is, indeed, dull and very rough with a horrible post-shave feel.

Razor blades are definitely a YMMV item, glad you found something that works for you.
I thought Voskods were garbage and felt blunt after one use.

You did pronounce it wrong. The K is silent, and the S Is just S not SH. Means sunrise by the way.
So what
