not significantly. It goes up every year you teach though. you can search up salary schedules in districts you are interested in to see how much salaries go up depending on years of experience, education & certification :)
See if your district offers an emergency certification. I was a first year teacher this past year in Arizona and am having trouble with the sub-test II. I have passed everything else and have a BA and an MA and for some reason this test is kicking my butt. My principal talked with the superintendent and I was given the emergency certification so I would not lose my contract.
Best of luck to you setting up! I have a few friends who can't start setting up their classrooms until the 28th as well, and they're stressing out haha

um why would someone not have their kid go to summer school? Unless its like a summer enrichment or an academic camp. Also parents that complain about food like they can't feed their own kids--ugh that really makes me mad. People are ridiculous

I love reading pout pout fish to my toddlers in daycare, my preschool age daughter also loves it. I'm really enjoying these videos your inspiring me, I work at a daycare which has a curriculum we have to follow to instile early learning and it can be very overwhelming but your videos are giving me life lol
Btw dealing with parents is the most difficult part to me sometimes I feel like I have less patience because the fact they are adults and should act better

Hey I saw you had a list of sight words. They have big site words for your grade at the dollar tree, I just bought them. You can use them as a boarder or just past them on the wall. They are a dollar. I got packages of site words for pre school, kinder garden and first grade. They also have second and third grade.
Do you have more than one dollar tree in your area. We have several and each of them carries different things. I would try another one if you have one.
Do you have any friends who are preschool teachers who may be able to give you some guidance on what to do with the younger child? Can you adopt some of the activities you are doing with the older students to fit her needs? Throughout your teaching career, you will encounter students from all walks of life, including students with special needs. Although this isn't the case here, my point is that you will have to deal with a wide variety of needs. You may need to get creative, but don't give up. Does she know her letters or her numbers yet? If the first graders are working on writing, could you adopt the assignment for the younger girl? I have a lot of magnetic letters, educational type coloring books, and other materials for younger children. Maybe this might be a help to you.
+emaildavinam I don't, unfortunately I did have to remind myself that the little girl was only 3 when I would find myself getting frustrated which was hard because she was only in my classroom less than 50% of the time, and summer school was already incredibly short after all. Not only that, but I had very little resources--no computer, no smartboard, and no access to print items just copy. I'm not sure if I mentioned in this video or another one, but I felt like I was babysitting. Why? Cause the little girl didn't listen to me because she could do as she pleased because her grandma was my boss. She walked in and out of my classroom when she didn't want to do an activity we were doing, and he grandma allowed it. Towards the end, it began to get better. I know that in teaching, I'll get students with different backgrounds and experiences, and I'm more than willing to do whatever to do to help those students. At that point I'll have my own classroom with a ton more resources. Thanks for your input!

it could be because there's no transportation, but I could be wrong.
