Some people compare this to Max and Ocon's 2019 incident, but I think a big difference is that despite both being wrong:
Pushing your rival for ruining your race
    Vs
Pushing your PT for trying to actively help you
Its that one of those is a lot more understandable than the other because emotions should run high after losing a race win in an incident, but not when you cock it up yourself.
Max got told off and stayed a good lad afterwards doing an awareness course,
But frankly? I think Stroll should get a race ban.

I get throwing something in frustration, punching a wall, screaming into the abyss when you're mad, but it's when you put hands on your own team members where there can be no justification had. In this cost cap era, those fines hurt the team. You can be mad after you weigh in. Hell Max was mad AT the weigh in, lol. I swear, some days I want to be like Lance it can't be easy being you and having Daddy in charge, but when a team is afraid to speak out, everyone is just bigging you up because you're the bosses son, and there is no danger of losing your seat, how can we feel sorry for you. What real tests has he had to face. He's now in a position where he cannot hide behind a faulty car and some bad luck and everyone can see his performance level on clear display and there is no amount of BS praise from his team that can hide how he's really doing now and he's snapping.

I think Checo is the only one that use pressure as excuse, he is the only one expected to win. What media and people on social media do is disgusting, although f1 drives don't have it as bad a politicians or soccer playes, but it's part of the job nowadays, imagen if Instagram were there in the 60's, but they just had to deal with safety.
Anyway, it's just job, there's nothing wrong in changing it if you can't handle the failure.

My wife has long absolutely hated Stroll’s attitude (and she used to be a collage teacher and encountered quite a few similar profiles, not as wealthy though) while I was a bit more indifferent to him, he does seem to have genuine talent, so he’s far from the worse “pay driver” and might be one of the better ones. But his demeanor this weekend has been a real tipping point. I am very tolerant towards emotions shown straight out of the car, but the press conference was the moment to sort of backtrack on that, and like you mentioned, he doubled down. I much rather believe he’ll be sent to a sports car program (with the exact wording you mentioned the other day) rather than the whole team capitulating.

The guy is a very good driver and he has nothing to be embarrassed about. If he left at the end of the season he would leave as the second youngest podium scorer in F1. A pole position, 3 podiums and spending the last three seasons in F1 partnering multiple world champions.

It's not even just how he treated the team. The F1TV crew have an interview with him from Friday after qualifying and they literally say that they can't show that interview on air because it contains too much "unrepeatable language". I know Will Buxton and Jolyon Palmer aren't shy about criticising F1 when they feel things go awry (Buxton was vocal about Mazepin joining F1 and Palmer criticises penalties all the time, Laura Winter also criticised that it was allowed for Perez to serve his penalty with a retired car in Japan), but I don't see them making up stories out of thin air if they weren't true. Like Buxton would immediately lose his job if he defamed an F1 driver with lies on air, they would never let any of the presenters get away with that.

His attitude has only gotten worse since he started and it’s at a point now where he should leave to maintain any respect anyone ever had for him. He needs to realise that he just isn’t as good as pretty much anyone other than Logan Sargeant who is a literal rookie. you know mclaren resurgence this year does remind me a lot of 2009 when after they won the drivers title with lewis hamilton and basically put all their resource into 2008, at the beginning of 2009 mclaren had a "mid -field" car that is not good or bad but unable to fight wins but later in the season mclaren starting to make progress with their car and eventually snatch a win from redbull and brawngp and in 2010 they are back to being title contenders
2023 is almost simular with mclaren focus on 2022 with the brake system or something and as a result being backmarker in the first part of 2023 but when mclaren begins to introduce updates their car slowly becomes more competitive in the mid field and all escalate to silver stone this year i hope mclaren will take the fight to redbull in 2024 and not to mention they broke redbulls pitstop record with a 1.80s pitstop not only mclaren has stepped up their game in car peformance but they have step up their game operationally as well and if this hypetrain continues to 2024 redbull are in danger like in 2021 with them challenging mercedes and breach the gap and who doesnt want to see oscar and lando fighting with max at the top

It is hard to know what to make of Stroll. Early on he showed some promise despite making a few too many mistakes. Even though he basically had to buy his seat in F1 I always thought he was good enough to be there on merit. He even put in some good performances alongside Vettel. But this year he has just looked like an amateur. Maybe this year's Aston requires something unusual to get the best from it. Fernando is one of the most adaptable drivers who could get in any car and take it to the limit. Maybe Lance is more like Ricciardo at McLaren, unable to make those small changes needed to see big gains. And like Ricciardo at McLaren, he probably needs to admit it isn't working. I really believe we are blessed by Oscar Piastri's entry into F1. He is chill, funny and just an amazing person. Lance on the other hand, i believe he is a spoiled brat that doesn't deserve to be here. Instead should of been replaced, maybe by Liam Lawson 👀.

7:40 Another Verstappen example is when he got fined for ignoring media duties at Baku 2017. Many would forget since more serious incidents have occurred since. People have to understand that, even in the heat of the moment, drivers have responsibilities to conduct themselves and follow procedures.
And while the 5 figure fines are laughable to 7 or 8 figure salaries, there's also the PR nightmare to consider. I mean, even today that Verstappen/Ocon incident keeps being brought up, despite both having served their share of the penalties. Same with Silverstone and Monza between Hamilton and Verstappen.

    • @LawVS
      @LawVS  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Correct. Max was right to be brought up for that behaviour in 2017.

The way he conducted himself was poor, it’s truly shocking. I understand that world class athletes from time to time blow up, but what he did was just childish. To add to your point about Oscar, he’s never lashed out towards others and has taken responsibilities for any mistakes he’s made.

What you learn from fixers, is you have a limited time frame of about 48 hours with which to apologize for your actions or the story will run away and you won't be able to control the narrative anymore. This could have all probably blown over by next race with a simple, "hey, I was heated in the moment (which given the pressure, we can understand) and I should not have done what I did, I apologized." Tweet it out, shake hands, done. Silence and ignoring it won't make it go away especially in this era of social media where people love to invent and make stories bigger than they are (except this was seemingly caught on camera) so Lance nor the team can deny it. Now with a whole week to Austin, what do you think people are going to be going on about....

Let’s hope F1 investigate the situation, can get cctv from inside the garage for a proper review and could lead to a possible race ban for it and see someone else in the car for someone to get decent points and possibly match Alonso in the race or if by some miracle beat Alonso

@@LawVS that’s true, but the team might not want to take it further to protect Stroll but if they can have footage of it, then with or without any witness statements they can still proceed as they please. As there two things to consider, which throwing the steering wheel could of cause injury to someone inside a packed garage, as for shoving his trainer, that is inside the garage too which make it even more dangerous as a number of equipment/tools could be around which would only take his trainer to lose his footing and it could of been a lot worse. A race ban would be extreme but understandable as we can’t have those kind of reckless emotions which could of easily escalated into something more severe. Yes you can be upset with decisions and outcome but to do what he did is unacceptable, even if an apology comes it still shouldn’t go unpunished. Also I am someone who think the FIA and F1 govern bodies can a bit too lenient on punishments they hand down to teams/drivers.

Sounds like Lance's loss is Drugovich's gain, maybe? Lawrence will probably stick out with the team until a buyer is found (Probably the KSA Consortium like you say, but Maybe this is Hi-Tech's road into F1 after all?), but it seems like Lance has at last run out of time, or maybe Singapore's had a bigger effect than we or even he has realised... When you start lashing out to somehow try and protect yourself, it's time to either dig deep and find whether you truly want to make it work or move on.

Aston not seemingly responding publicly to this is deafening. We don't even know if this is going to be handled internally or not for the reasons you pointed out. I know it's an internal team issue and not a wider sport issue but having the incident televised and the interview after it doesn't reflect well on the sport so could there be incentive for intervention by F1 or the FIA if one of its teams fails to take necessary disciplinary action within itself for such a public incident?
At this point, frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if Lawrence walks away, and good riddance if he does. This is a top-end motorsport category and not a toy for your son you throw away when he doesn't want to play anymore. I hope for the team's benefit that if this uncertainty is hanging over their heads that things move swiftly as they don't deserve this.
