One of the students was named Jack McGee. McGee was a character on the Hulk TV show. He was a newspaper reporter who pursued the Hulk from place to place.
Also MANY references in the intro, but it all happens so fast you have to paus alot to really catch them. As well more references throughout the movie, but i don't remember them all.
*Asia and BJ* - Samson is a reference too, as he in the comics also took the serum that made him get some hulk abilities and -powers, but doesn't become a hulk (or anything else). He also became Bruce's therapist in the comics. Plus Samson also wanted to have Betty for himself in the comics. Bruce is Banner's forename (or middlename?) in every version except the 70's tv-show with Bill Bixby. In the comics, Bruce's father's name is David Banner instead. Blonski is a reference too, as he exists in the comics. This movie's version of The Abomination (Blonski mutated into that monster) is very differently looking from the original comic- and cartoon version. There he is green and has aquatic features. Bruce doesn't remember anything out of all his hulk-episodes, not more than chaotic fragments sometimes, which is traumatic. There are scenes showing his trauma being triggered visual- & soundwise (when he showers & wakes up in another scene later). Put on top off that, that he's on the run all the time from Thunderbolt's army no matter where he may be. -He also trying to isolate himself from most relationships & people to not get involved in all this, as well as not to trigger him. He's pretty much just trying to survive and find a cure, both metodically and medically anyway possible to hopefully "cure" it. -He is suppose to be a genius and worked with same or similar career title as Betty. They were collegues and a couple but he runaway after the first incident both because out off guilt of what happened Betty getting badly hurt, as well as what Thunderbolt told him he wanted out off him (to make supersoldiers but Bruce won't co-operate). She doesn't blame him, but she had no idea what happened him and why he was gone. Also she was lied to by her dad about it. Bruce saying he "doesn't want to handle it, just want to get rid off it(hulk)" is something very typical him as a character to say. Generally he doesn't want a middleground. Just say Banner if you're struggling with his forname. Hulk simply reverts back into Banner when calmed down and feels safe enough, They just didn't show it in the movie. It is shown in the 2003 movie tho. -It does leave him exhausted and confused. In the fight at the park scene, the military uses soundwaves/sonic waves towards Hulk trying to immobilize him. That's why Hulk and Blonski held their ears. Mr. Blue were originally gonna be Betty, but they changed it while making the movie into Mr. Sterns code-name instead. After the park incident Betty feels betrayed by- and no longer trusts Leonard (with all the right). In the end she is trying to find Bruce on her own. The military mean to tranqalize Banner BEFORE he turns into Hulk to prevent him from turning so they can capture him, and because it's no use when he already has become the Hulk. But Blonski had no idea what he really was up to so he tried to shoot Hulk anyway in th beginning, just making the situation worse, tho he was strictly told to ONLY shoot Banner (and not hulk). -The irony is also that they are way more prone to trigger him than not by hunting- and attacking him. Why Sterns got the blood in his head and Hulk ran away in the end of the movie is because it was meant to get a sequel with the Leader (Sterns turned evil Becoming Hulk's arch enemy. Think off a greenskinned, actually evil "Megamind" from the comics) that never came into production. Stan Lee (the old man drinking the soda) got a heart attack by drinking the soda spoiled with Bruces blood. Thunderbolt says it in the movie right after/when you see it happen. Deadpool is created by Marvel Comics too.
The fight scene with the military vehicles in the park….the military was using „sound wave“ generators to try to subdue the Hulk. They are based on actual equipment developed for crowd control. On normal humans the sound waves makes your skin feel like it‘s burning so you‘ll leave the area. The downside is that using items to block the waves (like a mattress) renders the generator useless. The tv show „60 Minutes“ did a story on the device back in the early 2000‘s. Cheers
When Bill Bixby, in the episode “The First”, where there’s another evil Hulk, yells “nooooo!” When he has the cure in his hands, and the other Hulk smashes it against the wall, Bixby’s eyes turn white, and he begins to cry. He weeps as his eyes turn white as he is about to transform, tears run down his face as he had the cure right there in his hands….guys, its so heartbreaking. I cry because Bixby does such an amazing acting job.
40:43 Dr. Samuel Sterns becomes the Marvel villain known as "The Leader" as result of that. Basically he becomes a super intelligent guy with a big head & brain with telepathic, and telekinetic abilities.
It's fricken Grover, people!!!! By the way The man who does the voice for Grover on sesame street, is the same man that does the voice for Yoda. His name is Frank Oz
Only better Hulk is Lou Ferringo who voiced this Hulk and cameo-ed as the security guard who took the pizza bribe! This Hulk had the rage needed to portray the character accurately! In the first Hulk cartoon series, when Banner transformed he used to burst out of his clothes. Then when he changed back tie and everything would come back. The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, Quasimodo, used to throw hands with the Hulk! Hulk, Wolverine and Deadpool have the best healing factors (mutations that would allow them to heal from almost any injury) in the Marvel Universe!
The Incredible Hulk is one of the most underrated MCU films, that’s a fact Edward Norton will always be the Hulk and Bruce Banner for me, the chemistry between Ed Norton and Liv Tyler chemistry felt so real. Liv Tyler would just talk about how grateful she was to get to work with Eddie Norton
Nope. Ed Norton brought no personality to Bruce. Ruffalo replaced him and made the role his own. Hulk in Avengers and Ragnarok is the greatest Hulk we ever saw in the MCU. Asia and BJ will find that out.

Banner was trying to recreate captain americas super soldier syrum using gamma radiation in place of vita rays and he became the hulk. Emil Blondsky was given a small injection of it and he became an insane super murder soldier, and with a small dose of synthetic banner blood from mr. blue he became abomination.

The character’s name is Bruce Banner. The producers of the old TV show changed it to David for some unknown reason but in the comic book his name has always been Bruce Banner.
Fun little trivia - When Hulk rips the car in half and starts using the 2 halves like boxing gloves that was taken from the video game The Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction from 2005
You watched Iron Man 2 before you should have. Stark is talking about SHIELD putting together a team. You need to watch Thor next and then the first Avengers movie where the team comes together. Some people didn't like this movie but I do. I loved the cameos from the The Incredible Hulk TV show .
Edward Norton's Hulk will always be the best live action Hulk of all time, then the 2003 Hulk after Norton's Hulk. Also, don't underestimate the power and speed of the Hulk. The live action versions of Hulk are all severely watered down versions of the comic Hulk. His attacks shake multiverses and can destroy Planets depending on which version of the Hulk you're talking about, and he can outrun the fastest cars, not to mention, he can jump into space and tank Nukes and while they don't show it in the movies, the Hulk can regenerate very quickly, from limbs to organs, though, you'd have to be one mean mf to injure the Hulk.
General "Thunderbolt" Ross, in the comics, didn't like Banner dating his daughter, Betty. When Banner became the Hulk, Ross started trying to hunt him down. In this version Betty is played by Liv Tyler, Arwin from LOTR. The soldier guy who becomes another Hulk is The Abomination.
The hulk can talk. It's all about rage and emotion. When Bruce gets angry, the Hulk comes out when he calms down. Bruce comes back. It's like a doctor jekyll, mister hyde aspect of it
The first part of the movie was filmed on Rio de Janeiro Brazil, and the scene of the pursuit in the favela (slum) had to have authorization from the criminal faction leader, cause a black van and armed guys can get killed (cause their similar to the BOPE, the police elite squad who usually do the raids on the favela).
To clear up the confusion between Bruce and David Banner. Except for the TV show that BJ mentioned, there is no David Banner. In the comics, the hulk's name is Bruce Banner. The guy that created the TV show based on the Incredible hulk, was asked by Stan Lee himself why the hulk is being called, David Bruce Banner ( David being his first and Banner being his middle ) the reason for the name change and confusion is because the TV show was much different than comics and therefore would not be cannon to the comics. The show's creater had to make a few changes for it to work out as live action show, seeing as how it was based on a comic and recreating everything that was canon would not have been possible for a live action show
When I first watched this movie in theaters, I really wanted Beast from X-Men to be Mr. Blue. That would have been so epic. See, I grew up watching the 90s Marvel cartoons and playing the Marvel fighting games, so I figured the crossovers would be easy to do in the movies, too. Boy, was I wrong. lol
Blonsky got a version of the supersoldier serum they gave captain America when they gave him the first dose. Thats how he survived the kick up against the tree. He was able to regenerate quick
Here is the list of all the movies in the first part of the MCU saga. They are all in order and this is the way you should watch them so it will make sense . 1 lorn Man, 2 Incredible Hulk, 3 Iron Man two, 4 Thor, 5 captain America, 6 The avengers, 7 Iron Man three, 8 Thor; the dark world, 9 captain America: winter soldier, 10 guardians of the Galaxy, 11 avengers: age of Ultron, 12 Ant-man, 13 captain America: Civil War, 14 Doctor Strange, 15 guardians of the Galaxy vol two, 16 Spider-Man: homecoming, 17 Thor: Ragnarok, 18 Black Panther, 19 Avengers: infinity war, 20 Ant-man and the wasp, 21 captain Marvel, 22 avengers: endgame, 23 Spider-Man: far from home.

It would have been so cool to have Norton as Hulk during all the Avengers movies. He's definitely the best Hulk.
"gringo" in Brasil is slang for "foreigner".
David Banner 🤣
Superglue was invented to bond skin. I had surgery in May with no stitches. I was mended with superglue.
The muppet on TV was Grover, probably my favorite muppet of all time.
Cheers
If General Ross doesn't want/like Banner becoming the Hulk, I would say ... attacking him ... is NOT the way to avoid that.
Rickson Gracie was Banners aikido trainer @ 7:04. His family are legends in Brazilian Jujitsu
The country is Brazil and the city is Rio de Janeiro, the Gringo is a U.S. American that Mexicans gave to Americans.
47:55 Lou Ferrigno did the voice for the Hulk there, seeing as he played the first live action Hulk in the 70's. 😁
Gringo is slang for white man. The blue Puppet is named Grover😂Awesome show Asia and BJ keep up the terrific work 👌 👏 👍 😀
Only better Hulk is Lou Ferringo who voiced this Hulk and cameo-ed as the security guard who took the pizza bribe!
The Incredible Hulk is one of the most underrated MCU films, that’s a fact
Edward Norton will always be the Hulk and Bruce Banner for me, the chemistry between Ed Norton and Liv Tyler chemistry felt so real.
Liv Tyler would just talk about how grateful she was to get to work with Eddie Norton
I feel the same.
@@McMahonHater exactly bro 😎
@@Chasejones2004 😎
Nope. Ed Norton brought no personality to Bruce. Ruffalo replaced him and made the role his own. Hulk in Avengers and Ragnarok is the greatest Hulk we ever saw in the MCU. Asia and BJ will find that out.
@@SurvivorBri Ruffalo was very good in Avengers and Age of Ultron... Ragnarok was absolute garbage, and Love & Thunder was even worse. Taika was the catalyst for the demise of the MCU.
I just noticed Peter Parker's teacher, Roger Harrington, was the guy in the computer lab at the University.
They said at one point it's the same character too.
If you guys not binge watching these marvel movies, y’all will be 25 years doing these reactions, we would love to see you guys do it but, watching one a month ain’t going do it I am just saying ❤
Yeah they should just do 1 movie a week so they get through them and hopefully remember who is who and how they tie together
Yep
@@Impeach44 is what I am saying cause, it will not be interesting to them more the viewers who love these movies just to watch and be lost, meaning you have to learn the characters and how this go, we seen it, us watching your reaction is to see if your reaction is like ours from 20 years ago.
FOESHOW

This movie brings back the best memories
One thing about the Hulk is the matter he gets the stronger he gets
All of these movies are connected, Bruce was trying to recreate the serum that made Captain America but added gamma radiation. Blonsky got a version of the Super Soldier serum at first.
Super glue was originally used to patch up wounded soldiers in Vietnam. That's why it sticks to your skin so tightly.
Ok the character of Dr. Stems is also in a movie called Brother, Where Art Thou. I know you'll love this movie! It's also got George Clooney and John Goodman I believe.
David banner the rapper turning green singing "PLAY" or "RUN GIRL" 😂
I know you watched Iron man but once again welcome to the MCU universe. Some advice- finish watching the Spiderman movies early on ( Spiderman series and The amazing Spider-man movies as well. ) This will be important later on when you finally watch the Tom Holland Spiderman movies ( and make sense ).
This movie came out right before Iron Man in 2008. Hulk shows up again in The Avengers movie (the first one from 2012).
Bill Bixby was the guest on Sesame Street with Grover who's name you couldn't remember
😂A Gringo is an American in Spanish slang. And, I believe the Muppet you are thinking of is Grover, that was him. Loved your reaction as always!!!
In Portugal and Spain, Gringo means foreigner, not American. I've no doubt in North America they've made themselves believe its just about them though.
Banner was trying to recreate captain americas super soldier syrum using gamma radiation in place of vita rays and he became the hulk. Emil Blondsky was given a small injection of it and he became an insane super murder soldier, and with a small dose of synthetic banner blood from mr. blue he became abomination.
Rip Stan Lee your mark on this world was amazing.
The Hulk is based on the Frankenstein monster and the classic story of "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde." 😊
Lou freight was the guy in uniform helping the Hulk - Lou was the irignal Hulk on TV and ate the beginning when he was watching tv Bill Bixby was on the screen 9 again from the original tv show. Hello from Niagara Falls, we enjoy the reviews and the energy you two bring, take care.
Whatever genre, no matter what movie, it's always absolute pleasure to watch with you two 😉😎
The character’s name is Bruce Banner. The producers of the old TV show changed it to David for some unknown reason but in the comic book his name has always been Bruce Banner.
Fun little trivia - When Hulk rips the car in half and starts using the 2 halves like boxing gloves that was taken from the video game The Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction from 2005
11:04 the old man is Stan Lee. The real Marvel Jesus lol he created most of the iconic Marvel characters . R.i.p
It's funny you said "hulk sitting at the desk" and it was Lou Ferrigno the actor that played the hulk back in day
General "Thunderbolt" Ross, in the comics, didn't like Banner dating his daughter, Betty. When Banner became the Hulk, Ross started trying to hunt him down. In this version Betty is played by Liv Tyler, Arwin from LOTR. The soldier guy who becomes another Hulk is The Abomination.
You mean Red She Hulk? Cuz Betty is also a Hulk too
The hulk can talk.
HULK actually said "Leave me alone." In the first transformation in the factory.
The old man that drank the infected bottle of soda at 11:00 minutes was Stan Lee who created the Hulk and 100' s more characters
YO! i love yall. I appreciate the work you two put in on your reaction videos. Thank you.
Did you see a young bill bixby at the start on the tv screen when David banner was watching? The old man was legend marvel comics legend Stan Lee.
Rumor has it when Batman found out the Hulk's 1st name was Bruce also, they became bestest buddies for life.
I have that comic book. Well, a reprint, but it counts.
Grover!
Reelin' with Asia and BJ , great video bro
When Banner says "Betty i'm sorry, I gotta try"
THAT IS A HERO!
You knew the Hulk was the Hulk even without knowing he was the Hulk.
Perfect casting.
The show's creater had to make a few changes for it to work out as live action show, seeing as how it was based on a comic and recreating everything that was canon would not have been possible for a live action show
Actually, his full name in the comics is Robert Bruce Banner.
This hulk is so much better than what marvel turned him into with Ruffalo
The security guard is Lou Ferrigno he was the Hulk in the original 1970s version of the with bill Bigsby
The guy that was slapping Edward Norton is one of the Gracie family members that does Gracie Jiujitsu.
Boy, was I wrong. lol
All Marvel movies have 1 or 2 post credit scenes. You have to check out "Thor" next before you watch "The Avengers".
Good for her. Realizing it tranquilizer. Most are usually keep going on thinking they just shot the dog.
Without giving any spoilers, its amazing where Abomination's story arc goes in the She Hulk show, totally unexpected. LOL.
Blonsky got a version of the supersoldier serum they gave captain America when they gave him the first dose. Thats how he survived the kick up against the tree. He was able to regenerate quick
He said David banner 😂😂
Lmfaoooo David banner got me dying loool its bruceee
Super glue, gorilla glue etc was actually invented to close up wounds in battle field situations. It's only after that we started using it as "glue".
Here is the list of all the movies in the first part of the MCU saga. They are all in order and this is the way you should watch them so it will make sense .
1 lorn Man, 2 Incredible Hulk, 3 Iron Man two, 4 Thor, 5 captain America, 6 The avengers,
7 Iron Man three, 8 Thor; the dark world, 9 captain America: winter soldier, 10 guardians of the Galaxy, 11 avengers: age of Ultron,
12 Ant-man, 13 captain America: Civil War, 14 Doctor Strange, 15 guardians of the Galaxy vol two, 16 Spider-Man: homecoming, 17 Thor: Ragnarok, 18 Black Panther, 19 Avengers: infinity war, 20 Ant-man and the wasp, 21 captain Marvel, 22 avengers: endgame, 23 Spider-Man: far from home.
That guy (the rogue agent) becomes and is called "Abomination", him and Hulk are arch nemesis!!
Asia you’re so cute!! You were so proud of yourself for knowing all of these guys!!
Just in case you missed it the security guard that he gives the pizza to is the man that played the Hulk in the TV series Lou Ferrigno
Asia the security guard with the pizza (Lou Ferrigno) you said should be the hulk made me smile because he actually is the original series 1977-1982 incredible hulk.
Asia watching these marvel movies not knowing the origin of some of the characters is what makes watching there reaction all the better.
Samuel Stern will become The Leader in a future MCU movie.
