    I like “Drill trough” over “Pierce through” because “Drill through” sounds like a huge, spinning, mining drill. And “Pierce through sounds instant but weak like a small knitting needle.

    Hi, Great review. I am a big fan of the Exbolt 63. I used to string with the BG 65 Titanium but the exbolt 63 plays much better.
    I will sure try the exbolt 65 because i always look for a better string i like to play with.
    The exbolt 65 for 200 meters will cost around 132,50 euro in The Netherlands.
    For the recreational players at my badmintonclub (and lower divisions) i give them the BG 65 Ti string because of its durability.

      I have two Nanoflare rackets. I have one for maximum performance with exbolt 65 strings and another one with 65ti as a backup if the strings snap. Can't go wrong with a bg 65ti

    • @bunneybeast
      @bunneybeast ปีที่แล้ว

      My favourite without a doubt is the exbolt 65 and the 66 ultimax but even so I still found the 65ti better than most performance and thinner strings. Don't know why that is since the 65 ti is quite thick but just my opinion and experience 👍

    Hi CK! Awesome review once again. I always love your technical explanations that made a lot of sense. By the way, is it just me or I notice that string thickness DO affect the balance point of the racket. I've always played with the exbolt 63 for my 100zz, then suddenly shifted to Li Ning no.1 boost string( a .65mm string). The head weight increase was quite noticeable. Was this the case for the Exbolt 65 as well, coming from exbolt 63? Hope to hear from you! :)

    • @CKYew

      Sounds like you're super sensitive to weight changes. Yes, thicker strings will carry a bit more weight albeit negligible unless you're super sensitive and have multiple similar rackets to compare with.

    Hey CK Yew! Thanks for the review.
    I did end up getting these strung and definitely agree with the 'not as forgiving' part from off center hits.
    Also noticed that these strings hold tension really well. I usually string BG80 /BG80P at 29lbs since it feels like they both lose a bit of tension after a week or two and like it sitting at around 27/28, but strung the Ex65 at 29lbs and felt like they never dropped/settled any more after a 6+ long badminton sessions.
    I feel like these don't last as long compared to the BG80, as I've already broken one after a month (judging by the breaking point, didn't seem like a mishit). I think it may be because they hold tension better and can definitely say they feel really nice (perhaps also the tension).
    Have also ordered some of your racket protector films, keen for those. Keep up the good work mate

    • @soontobevictor
      @soontobevictor ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kev4242 The regular BG80 needs to be strung at higher tension (maybe 2lbs) to make it more crisp / not feel as spongy.
      I couldn't really get used to the 'waxy' feeling of the ex65, but like how the bg80 'holds' the shuttle a little longer. Depending on your racket characteristics and playstyle, it might be what you're after.

    It honestly looks like yonex is trying to improve the ultimax that isn't just for tournament play. So many oem and companies all have a good standard 0.65mm string but yonex. Zymax 65, li ning no.1 and g-tone 5 are and still beastly strings.

    Among all these strings, I rank them in the following way
    N0 01 - Tie between Nanogy99 & Zymax 66 Fire. (Zymax Fire66 priced lesser and more value for money as well)
    N0 02 - BG66 Ultimax
    N0 03 - Transform TS 01 (Similar to BG66 & Nanogy99, but looses the ranking in shock absorption)

    Nice review. I'll probably like the exbolt 65 more than the 63 because it is likely more durable than the 63 but I do wonder what is your take on the Skyarc on a full review.
    I've seen your yonex badminton strings video but you haven't played with it by then. I am curios whether the skyarc truly gives a little help for beginner to intermediate players as advertised, especially for those who lack power for returning the shuttle further down the court. Also, if a new review for strings may come, is it possible for you to review it in various tensions specifically: 24, 28, and 30 or 32 since that is the common tensions that beginner/intermediate, intermediate/advance, and advance/professional players play respectively.
    Thank you once again for the review. Hoping for more reviews. Keep up the Great work.

    They are so high nowadays that I've considered using hybrids and as a result picking less tension on my strings AND ALSO PLAYING WITH CHEAPER RACKETS.

    Hi CK! Came across your channel through Badminton insight and decided to give your other vids (like this one!) a go!
    I am very curious and committed to the Exbolt 65 (as I already purchased a coil recently lol, to replace my main strings on my AX100ZZ 4U racket) but is it a safe option to use my normal tension with the EX65? I haven't shopped around for strings recently (exbolt being completely new to me). I also frequently play (twice a week minimum) and is of an intermediate double player level in badminton.
    This is mostly two questions, as I'm quite sensitive to thin vs thicker strings (believing in thicker strings being strung at higher tension= awesome), and there was a thread I read, advising if you were to use the exbolt strings, to -1 your usual tension for it. Knowing this, are you still saying its safe to use usual tension, if I am very used to thicker strings?
    Gear: My main strings that I mainly use is the BG70 Pro (BG 70 pro is 0.70mm) at 28". Why I believe in them, is well the entire time I've used em, I've only had the one time where the strings snapped during a game. Every other time I had to cut them before restringing, as they lost their tension after several months (before this was BG65/65Ti but they're prone to losing tension quick, hence BG70 pro, was the solution and 'superior' string to BG 65/65ti.
    Sorry for the essay, but hoping to hear your wisdom and help too! :D

      A newly strung racket has different tension between the edge and the middle part. This is also a reason why people use pre-stretch, to ensure the middle part has the tension you want. Over time, the tension equalizes. Therefore, your newly strung rackets may have subtle characteristics different compared to the same racket after it settles. IDK if the difference is significant enough to feel though

    How come that your exbolt 65 string can go up to 29lbs with 10% pre stretched without snapping because when I string my 77 pro with 29lbs using exbolt 65, the string snap in mid stringing procedure

    • @CKYew
      @CKYew  ปีที่แล้ว

      Its probably because something is 'cutting' into the string. Check your grommets and replace worn ones. Make sure there's no cracks on your frame too. The string itself should hold upwards of 50+ lbs so it certainly shouldnt be breaking at 29 lbs.

      Actually my racket is only been string once from the flagship store. I also string my racket with white exbolt 65 with 27lbs by 29lbs when I bought it. I'm confused because when the seller from the flagship string my racket, the exbolt 65 string doesn't snap and doesn't have any overstretched characteristics from the string. But when I replaced my racket with a new set of exbolt 65 after 2 weeks but in a local badminton stringing shop, they refuse to string my racket with my common set up which is 27lbs by 29lbs. But I force them to do my common set up but the string snap while in mid stringing procedure at the cross strings putting a tension of 29lbs

      And also the flagship store of Yonex here in our area is more than 250km away from our house. The first thing that I blame is because they use an automatic stringer but I guess that's not the case because you also string your rackets with an automatic stringer. When I first stringed this racket, the flagship store only uses a mechanical stringer that's why I conclude that the automatic stringer is the reason but it's not. Second that I blame is the staff's I guess bad pulling of the strings maybe because they just pull the string in every grommet not gentle

    Is the exbolt 63 significantly worse in performance compared to the exbolt 65, or is it just sightly?

      The 63 is a great string so Its not worse. It’s just slightly different. 😊

    Hi CK, I am switching to the exbolt 65, do you recommend me stringing it to 24lbs, 25lbs or 26lbs?

    • @CKYew
      @CKYew  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Go with your usual tension first, you can then decide to go up or down after trying it.

    Today i got one of my dad’s old racket strung up with the exbolt 65 at 28lbs. This racket in particular is extremely head light to the point it feels like you’re hitting with an unstrung racket. So when i went for my first shot, the sound that the racket made was like a gunshot. Ive never heard such a sound before, it was literally like gunshot or firecrackers. Feel of the strings are a 9/10 for me, clears are pretty effortless even tho its a head light racket but it is a bit hard to hit overhead stuff cuz my racket feels so light. Smashes are great, just overall great response from the strings. So if anyone is thinking about trying out the exbolt 65 or 63, i would say go for 65 for a more all rounded feel. I used to string exbolt 63 and it feels more responsive than 65. Hope this was useful😂

      May i ask which of these string has more all round sound ,for example: clears,smashes,drives,serves and drop has the same sound, bc CK said exbolt 63 has more benefits on clears and smashes and 65 has more on drives serves and drop

    • @justhenryquek
      @justhenryquek หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@L_JW03 exbolt 63 will have more sound, control and power in general because of the thinner string compared to exbolt 65. But 65 will be more durable and friendly for beginner and intermediate players because thinner string requires more precision and quality shots

    Any thoughts?

      I think players can appreciate the Exbolt 65 and 63 more at higher tensions (the crisp and pingy feeling it gives) but you can try at 26 lbs for your own exploration. 🤷‍♂
