    I found our one at our local thrift store while back. For five bucks it had no plugin. But I had one at home that works perfect.

    3:20 To add, the "audio in" jack is not just an AUX jack, but a dual analog / optical one. It can also take digital signal via mini TOSLINK. They could have labeled it better.

    Picked one of this speakers in good condition for $40 of facebook market, well worth it. popped a 30pin bluetooth 4.2 module on it and i use it daily in my room. For operating on batteries I rather use a Jackery explorer 160 portable power station to power it using its 110v inverter. I found the HI-Fi draws extremely low wattage over the AC cord probably because it was designed to also run on alkline. i can probably run it for 12hrs in medium-high volume which is insane and i can use the jackery to charge multiple phones or power other things if its a outdoor party or camp situation. it also takes solar charge which would mean it would run indefinitely with some sun, not even full sun is needed due to the speaker's very low draw.

    • @paolocee
      @paolocee  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Goliaboi, there is a power supply built in the Speaker unit. You simply just plug in the cord. The speaker can also be used with just batteries if you need to bring it with you. And finally, you can have batteries inside and have it plugged in to the wall; the iPod HiFi does not charge batteries.

Soundstage will fall flat when you sit off to the sides of the speaker. So it probably isn’t ideal for everyone to watch a movie with if they care about the sound imaging. But it gets very loud with no distortion so it works well

    There's one for sale for $200 in FB Marketplace near me and I'm hoping to snag it for $100, $150 tops. There's a BT adpater that fits into the tray adapter and that would allow at least some sort of wireless playback. The other option is to use my older Sony XPERIA cellphone and stream music from that over WiFi and just run a Spotify. Trying to see if I can control my SPOTIFY playlists from my laptop to the XPERIA phone connected via AUX. Want this purely for nostalgia and sound quality.

      I think you ment to say bluetooth receiver dongle.
      I have a few of those for whenever I want to pipe tunes via bluetooth into any of my classic hifi.
      whenever I have friends over who's phones can only do bluetooth I break out the adaptors super handy to have and I don't feel outdated for not conforming to bluetooth. But I personally use the aux as I keep all of my music on a standalone sansa clip mp3 player.

    The apple hifi is most comparable 90's PC desktop speakers. I've had one since '05 (it was a graduation gift sadly) and literally anything in it's price range or size, sounds better than it. I have used it in my garage as a prop, so if anyone decides to steal stuff from me, they go for the apple product and not the tools or real audio equipment. So far it's still there and I've had plenty of stuff stolen, so take that for what its worth. Don't waste your money on this in any market but gifted.

    The Hi-Fi’s got a very interesting and enjoyable sound signature: it’s smooth, punchy and goes LOUD without breaking a sweat while looking extremely cool doing it (sans grille, of course!). Despite Jobs being an anal-retentive audiophile, I think the Hi-Fi was specifically tuned to cater to the everyman while still having enough chops to appease the average audio enthusiast. To that end, Apple did a remarkable job.
    The Zeppelin, from what I remember, sounds somewhat more “expensive” in comparison, with slightly smoother mids, more sparkly highs and added heft in the bass department.
    I don’t think one is necessarily better than the other, just different.
