Honestly, I hope that I’m somehow able to thank this band for always providing music that comforts me during trying times. This album was the right place, right time for me. I needed it. Thank you Vampire Weekend.
It sounds almost exactly opposite of Sunflower. Like they did the same cadence and notes just in a different key to make more happy somber. That's so cool!
The rhythmic key of this song is called CANDOMBE, typical Uruguayan music introduced by africans slaves at the time of the conquest. The letter refers to the mixture of red wine and coca-cola, a typical drink of bohemians from the neighborhoods of MONTEVIDEO, the capital of my country Uruguay.
Honestly this might be the best album of all time. I'm not a fan girl I could go on about the reasons why. It encompasses everything this shift of reality feels like but in a positive way. Like a reverse modest mouse and a crazier time and with an even crazier method
woah the last part with headphones in is such an experience.. i feel like i am right next to steve lacy as he sings under his breath whilst sitting in a little cafe
Raisa Bruner says: " "Flower Moon" feels fresh and fun from the get-go: a Vocoder-addled opening line will catch your attention, with a delicate, wistful sax underlying it. But the bouncy, handclap-driven rest of the song will keep it, boosted by the appearence of The Internet's Steve Lacy, adding in echoing vocals and guitar. The song is less a story than a mood: a piece of warm-weather jazzy noise that's both bittersweet in its lyrics and sunny in its disposition. "
Kinda makes me think of spells, covens, and Sir Terry Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters. Also forever reminding me of those quaint nights in 2019, on call for my forensics rotation in med school. Ahh, the 4.30 AM walk to the morgue
The four Jack Draculas huddled like ravens on the opposite platform. They wore nondescript black raincoats and polished black combat boots laced to the knee. One turned to another and Kumiko saw that his hair was drawn back into a plaited queue and bound with a small black bow.
TFW for a split second you think that Vampire Weekend did a collab with the frontman from Brand New and you get chills only to be letdown. Still an incredible song tho.
Every song's a winner! Was walking past a shop in Brighton, heard the music, went inside to find out who it was - bought the album and have been addicted ever since.

Six years worth waiting. Flower Moon is definitely a highlight.
hes not getting noticed! this song is amazinggg
This song shows the amazing sounds of Vampire Weekend. This is actually a Salsa song. You can expect wonders from this group.
Dude this song is absolutely THE sleeper on this album.
How do they find these melodies? Trust me, every pop band is searching for melody and Ezra always seem to find what others can’t.
For the rest of my life, listening to this album will be reminiscing my youth on the summer of 2019.
Nice
me too. i’m tearing up.
My dude, legit same
SAME!

[Verse: Ezra Koenig & Steve Lacy]
Flower moon cursed the night
If the sun don't make things right
Then it's gonna take a year
Gonna take a year
Flower moon, sacred sign
Coca-Cola and red wine
Now's the time to disappear
Gonna take a year
[Chorus: Steve Lacy, Ezra Koenig & Steve Lacy]
It was the right place, wrong time
Another night at the borderline
Another night in the sway of the flower moon
It was the right week on a cursed day
Another chapter was underway
Another year in the light of the flower moon
It was the right place, wrong time
Another night at the borderline
Another night in the sway of the flower moon
It was the right week on a cursed day

Another year in the light of the flower moon

A shift in weight
A simple twist of fate
Suddenly, it's much too late
The rising tide's already lapping at the gate

Flower moon cursed the night
If the sun don't make things right

Very well put
I like the songs Moonflower and Flower Sun. Such great songs.
clever
@Dwight Kurt Schrute III You mean Steve Weekend and Vampire Lacy?
@@ayoubhoubban1560 Pretty sure he means Lacy Vampire and Steve Weekend
@@WiloPolis03 Nah, i think he means Weekend Lacy and Vampire Steve.
You idiot. VW is a great band but fudging the song names is an epic fail lmao

Wow... Steve Lacy has such a beautiful voice! 👏👏👏👏
i randomly thought of this song. i listened to it so much in freshmen year. so many good memories.
The intro to this song might be my favourite thing ever.
woah the last part with headphones in is such an experience.. i feel like i am right next to steve lacy as he sings under his breath whilst sitting in a little cafe
Tables being cleared away... The soundscape is just phenomenal. I imagine myself on a hot Summer evening in Greece
That arrangement though 👌
The part with the trombones cleared my skin
At 2:54
a gentle friend to brilliant sunflower
Flower Moon is probably the best song on the album
sounds like Imogen Heap had a collab with the Harvest Moon soundtrack
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. HIde & Seek
Yesss
Or even Laurie Anderson in 'O Superman'
Lol
THAT’S THE FIRST THING I THOUGHT AND I’M GLAD I WASN’T THE ONLY ONE
After seeing Killers of the flower moon, this song makes sense to me now!
Why is this song so damn underrated ?
playing this while looking at the Flower Moon tonight...so good
happy flower moon 2020 🌙🌸♎️
Steve Lacy actually sings!!
he sounds fantastic. Reminds me of King Krule's spoken word stuff on The Ooz
Yeeeee
He's always sang lol... Check out his project "Steve Lacy's Demo" and his new project coming out may 24th
This might be the most beautiful song on the album. It's a wonder.... Thank you Vampire Weekend. You are getting me through 2020!
Steve Lacy can make any song an instant classic.
I love all of this album
All that Steve Lacy touchs is art.
Beautiful and charming as always
My favorite artist by far very different music love it still
Happy Flower moon 2021
the instrumental during the Danielle Haim section reminds me of late 60's psych pop so much
what a time to be alive 🐸🐸

Vampire Weekend’s new album>studying
Same tho
... combined with studying its a force to be reckoned with
I liked other Vampire Weekend albums more, but this song is like burning ice.
I looveeee this album!!! I am very glad to find this album before i get to 2021
*"O Flora of the moon, of the dream, let the hunter be safe, let him find comfort and let this dream foretell a pleasant awakening..."*
this just reminds me that every band have their peak.. : ( : )
: Oof. This song's gonna be an absolute destroyer of floors live.
this is.....so good

good song.
Is everyone just going to ignore the fact that ezra said he's going to turn into a dracula on the next album? ...creepy!

Bon Iver - Woods

That riff is so similar to Scarlett Begonias by the Grateful Dead
Or China Cat Sunflower
GD was one of ezras main inspiration for the album.
My dad and I have been listening to this album together and he said it had a new age Grateful Dead vibe to it as well.
ezra is really into The Grateful Dead so it checks out
