Not only my favourite Vampire Weekend song, but possibly one of my favourite songs ever. Nothing better than country vibes like this. Thanks for making music which always makes me happy!
Lyrics: I-I-I, things have never been stranger I-I-I, things are gonna stay strange I-I-I, I remember life as a stranger I-I-I, but things change Another night indoors, another sign of life-ife Wobbling up through the floor You and Kidada Ooh, I might get low, low, low But now I'm too high to know The sound of you and your sister I couldn't face these days alone You got the right light, candles burning We don't need the moon anymore I used to look for an answer I used to knock on every door But you got the wave on, music playing Don't need to look anymore I-I-I, things have never been stranger I-I-I, things are gonna stay strange I-I-I, I remember life as a stranger I-I-I, but things change You and Kidada Ooh, the lights get low, low, low And I got nowhere to go I used to freeze on the dance floor I watched the icebergs from the shore But you got the heat on, kettle screaming Don't need to freeze anymore I-I-I, things have never been stranger I-I-I, things are gonna stay strange I-I-I, I remember life as a stranger I-I-I, but things change Who knows the reason that kindness lost its hold? Those better angels confined to minor roles I left the wilding, wilding, wilding days of old Your house is warmer the wilderness is cold Things have never been stranger Things are gonna stay strange I-I-I, I remember life as a stranger I-I-I, but things change Things have never been stranger Things are gonna stay strange I remember life as a stranger I-I-I, but things change Ooh Things have never been stranger (Ooh) Things are gonna stay strange (Ooh) I remember life as a stranger I-I-I
This whole album makes me feel so nostalgic, and idk why it doesn't bring back any specific memories. It just weirdly makes me feel nostalgic about nothing. But I love it
Man, two years have passed already since this album came out. I remember listening to it when I was aborad away from family and friends, and now I'm back home and listening to it thinking that it wasn't that bad after all..
This album was the soundtrack to my 2019. Then, I had made new friends. I didn't feel lonely. I lost those friends and my old ones over 2020. It felt bittersweet to hear this and feel like an outcast again, as usual. But my best friend since 3rd grade (shes a couple years older than me and goes to a school 5 hours away) has introduced me to her friends. They kinda like me. It feels good to hear this again with hope. Tl;dr I'm a lonely fool and I love this song
Here after Steve Lemacq played some Angelica on 6 Music this week. This is even more stand out than 'Why did you let my kitten die'. Thank goodness Holly Ross's brilliance lives on in Lovely Eggs 🥚❣️

Mmmmmmm....... part Vampire Weekend, part Joanna Newsome, part Grateful Dead, with a dash of what made Springsteen's Born To Run album so great. The new vampire weekend album is a celebration of living in the end of the second decade of the new millenium, as the song Thunder Road was a celebration of living in the eighties.
@Karma Sarni I've been researching and I think her name is Greta Morgan a former member of a band called Springtime Carnivore. If it were Danielle I supposed it would be featured in the title.
@@thejoaocouto hey dude it's not necessary to be rude. Could be her or could be not. I was just telling they possibility of being Greta Morgan because I saw her singing the choirs in some of the last live videos of VW and because Haim is not featured in the title. But sure could still be her although there's no reason for you to answer me like that.
Can't believe how underappreciated this whole album is. I think it might ultimately be their best.
The last 3 are pretty amazing ..
this album is going to be the soundtrack to my summer break
this. so much this.
This album is gonna be the soundtrack to my summer breakdown and resurgence.
maybe ur 2020 summer break
danielle haim almost a full member on fotb
This song is VERY appropriate amid all the COVID-19 happenings.
It's a song for his gf, Rashida Jones

Yeah the marimba still gives me chills to this day
All of their songs have this amazing energy to them. They haven’t disappointed with Stranger!

I'm like a year late, but a lot of them sound very Paul Simon-y
Very funky and dead-like. Such artistic arrangement. I don't think there's any comparison between them and any other current music
@@markgolden154 You referring to the Grateful Dead?
@@CeeJayDee94 yes. But only this album. I think it's the addition of Brian Robert Jones. Especially the rift late in harmony hall
Same
March 2020. Things have NEVER been stranger...
oh ya?
@@Gegyeggy Oh dear
This is a song about his gf
this is the best song on the album - no doubt about it
Honestly
Real
nothing to say, just............this song!! too good.
This song is the sound of two halves of a heart mending.
So sweet.
And when I found out it was about Rashida Jones, I died, was born, then died again.
Whats it about
And kidada dated 2pac!
i love all the paul simon vibes
My absolute favourite from the album. Top notch stuff

This album is officially Graceland 2!!!
The bridge is so good!
still loving this
As someone who got out of 6+year relationship 10 hours ago, this song is affecting me on an indescribable level.
Whats it about
good to listen to this music... I like it with many thanks...
Love this song....
The boys are back !!!
My dream was that this album would have a love song for Rashida 😍😍
I think maybe Spring snow could have some "Rashida" elements... or it's just a love song...
@@fablejoey3666 this is the song. her sisters name is Kidada
My favourite with "Sympathy" and "Sunflower" and "This life" ! :)
My favorite part in this song is the acapella at the beginning. Who agrees?
Reminds me of ooh child
Reminds me of Bernardinho
NEED a live version.
I think this song predicted the Coronavirus
My favorite off the new album.
the way ezra sings "ooh i might get low, low, low" is my new sexuality.
@Renaldo Matadeen Awww thanks for noticing ^_^
Same fam.
Renaldo Matadeen I have issues too
perfect 2020 song 😃

As soon as the beat comes in, I keep hearing "When the Morning Comes" by Hall & Oates, which is a compliment!!
Hall and Oates are OGs
Magic 💗
Anyone else's favorite song on the album?
Best track on Father of the Bride. It has everything: Catchy melody, perfect harmonies, clever production, great groove.
VW helping to handle our stranger times
Another night indoors....
HAIM and VW supergroup make it happen guys
super cool
The sing along songs will be our scriptures
Not sure this was what Craig Finn was talking about but interesting nonetheless
The first verse sounds like Bowie with the instrumentation
Their new songs sound a bit like extended Bill Wurtz songs
Similar influences
your mind is amazing for making that connection wow I agree
Bill Wurtz/Vampire Weekend album when?
YES
Wow smart comment
FUNKY!!!!!
This whole song is a single summer day. From the fun summertime daytime outdoors vibes to the chill cool summer nighttime vibes

Paul Simon vibes ☀️
Why does this beat lowkey sound like ‘My Shiny Teeth and Me’? 😂

I absolutely hate this song.
They play it at my work all the time and all I hear is “Ah ah ah ahhh” over and over again.
This song sucks.
