Tbh I would’ve evaluated it differently but I see your perspective. If you had considered things from a more removed angle, it would have added more depth to this video 🐋
Great video! I did a bit of Judo as a kid - only a few classes. Now at 40 I'm shedding around 30 pounds and my goal is to hit that first so I do not have any stress on my knees before starting classes in 2-3 months. Can't wait to do some tournaments like these! Subscribed! Keep posting...
I have nothing but respect for that! I wouldn't wait too long before starting because Judo requires a whole other level of cardio that you'll develop as you continue to train. In all honesty get some knee pads, elbow pads, shin pads, and work at your pace with your partner. Number 1 priority is to stay healthy so you can train for longevity. I appreciate the support and I hope to hear about your journey!
Nice novice competion. I also jzst starte Judo in my early to mid 20s shortly before covid and didt do a lot of comps. Maybe a little tipp advice from novice to novice. The shaking and jumping around por pushing and off balancing on that level may work but you may consider doing it 'less pronounced' I know sometimes its not avoidable but a good player will use this off balncing caused by yourself to thow you. I speak from experience. For example at 4:04 nearly both feet are off the mat. This happens a lot in your clip. This kind of kuzushi is prone to footsweeps like okuri ashibarai etc
I agree that the shaking was overdone, this was advice from my mentor as he knew this was a novice competition and it could be used to my advantage. This will be something that gets fine tuned as I go to more competitions. I wish nothing but the best for you in your training!
This was cool to see: another novice like me in competition and going over the good and bad. I will say though that I'm surprised you didn't get a promotion for winning three matches in your first competition.
I'm honestly not too worried about my belt ranking, I know where I stand and I know where I wanna be. As long as I'm still improving that's all that matters to me. I appreciate the support!
I'm down for that, but can you explain what exactly about that you'd like to know so I can make a proper video about it? Do you just want general clarification about it?

3:34 That throw is Sode Tsurikomi Goshi.
Morote seoi nage is executed using a traditional sleeve and lapel grip. 👍🏾
Thank you for the correction, this video was made very fresh into my judo journey.
Great potentiel ! Just stay straight don’t bend over. Keep pushing dude !
Thank you very much for the support! I've already been working on these adjustments but I appreciate the advice nonetheless.
Nice vid, homie. I'll understand it more once I learn more, but good vid!
