    Your soap is just beautiful. I am once again new to soaping and self taught. I took a break after two years and my soap seized too. Thank you for the tip. I need more tutorials! I love making soap.

    This is my second video of yours that I’ve watched and I have learned sooooo much from you !!!!! I’m so grateful you showed this video and it’s so amazing how great it turned out, I love it! It is GREAT to hear you talk out loud about the process and what you think you could do because that also teaches others. I’ve been making soap for less than a year, probably more like six months and I wish I would have found your videos earlier 🎉🎉🎉🎉 your awesome KEEP talking don’t ever stop ❤

    Your soap turned out great. All that panic your soap didn't look like it was seizing up to me. You kept it pretty fluid all the way through. So good save

      Thanks for watching my video. Yes, I start panicking as soon as I see a lump, LOL. Never know how fast it will move but luckily it wasn't too bad. I've learned the hard way to never give up on seizing batch, as long as I can still mix it with a spatula then I can still pour.

    Wow! You really turned that into something to be proud of! I don’t know if I could have stayed cool enough to manage. That is a great-looking soap.

      I am starting to get the names of people that might want to participate in a huge YT soap making collaboration in Sept. Would you like to know more about this and be put on the waiting list? We are in the middle of one now, sadly here are no more sign ups for this one but look for the collaboration Sept 1st. There are 65 participants. If you are interested in learning more send an email to soapsforlove@gmail.com

      @@Moonlitsoapworks I have once. It was with a Honeysuckle and Jasmine fragrance oil. I panicked too, but I continued to stick blend, I didn't know about using a whisk or spatula to just stir it. I layered the soap (I was doing 3 colors) and it turned out okay. But now I know to put down the stick blender and just stir it out. Thank you so much.

      Yes I normally add FO last if I'm working with a lot of colors and/or complex design. This one took me by surprise since i have use the scent before. But it was kind of fun watching myself panic a bit now that I'm looking back at it. lol. Thanks for watching.

    As a new soaper why did the batch almost sieze? Was the fragrance already in or was it the salt that was in the lye, I would like to understand. I loved the idea of this soap, and I really love the was it finished up, the bars look exactly like a full eclipse, love this

    • @Moonlitsoapworks
      @Moonlitsoapworks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching. The salt was added early on while the lye/water is still hot in order to help it dissolve better. The fragrance was added later on. In my experience, the #1 suspect for seizing is the fragrance. In this case, it can be a combination of things only because I have used those fragrances before and they behave very well.
      I don't have a definite answer for this one, I guess it's to keep me on my toes and keep things interesting, LOL.
      So in conclusion, when in douth, add the fragrance in the very end, after the colors, right before the pour. Happy Soaping :)

  • @Tribulation_Harvest
    @Tribulation_Harvest 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow, that fragrance really accelerated that batch! What if you added it after the oil and lye saponify? It might help. Great soap design, though. And i didnt think you were too chatty. 😊

    • @Moonlitsoapworks
      @Moonlitsoapworks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are too kind. I was editing this and keep hearing myself going on and was like: shut up, no one care. LOL.
      To be honest, it might not be the FO, I use those two scents before and they were well behaving. I normally do add the scent last but was thinking this design was pretty simple, I don't need that much time, oh boy was I wrong. The seizing totally took me by surprise. I did add more salt than usual in this batch, that might be part of the issue.
      Anyway, thanks for watching 😊
