Being a Mechanical engineer and a designer in automotive field, I have following observations. I was looking for a family bike for city rides mostly with a flat (horizontal seat), circular headlamp and retro-like + premium design (not like 100-150cc bikes). After exploring lot of bikes, I finalized three options to compare. 1. Honda H'ness 350 CC 2. Royal Enfield Hunter Rebel 350 CC 3. TVS Ronin 225 CC I test drove all 3 vehicles 2-3 times and following are my observations, 1. Honda H'ness 350 CC - *Pros* - Nice retro/classic look, Low end torque is good, Seating space for pillion rider is more than other two vehicles. *Cons* - Bulkier (Box size), Paint quality, Higher cost as compared to other two vehicles 2. Royal Enfield Hunter Rebel 350 CC - *Pros* - Beautiful Design/Styling/Look, Great color schemes, Turning radius is smaller than Ronin (Less space to turn the vehicle), Reasonable cost. *Cons* - The biggest issue (design flaw) is positioning of foot rest (pegs), just below the sitting position. This makes it difficult to keep your feet on ground while you are at signal or in slow moving traffic. Foot rest (pegs) keep touching your legs and is very uncomfortable. Another point is that seat on rear end tapers downward and seating space for pillion rider being less, pillion rider tend to move back and when you accelerate, pillion may feel like toppling/falling down at back side. So this is not safe and hence, back rest is MUST. Handle bar positioned in such a way that you need to keep your hands stretched straight all the times which is not a comfortable sitting posture. Low end torque/performance (2 & 3 gear) is sluggish due to bigger engine. (Not as good as smaller capacity bikes) 3. TVS Ronin 225 CC - *Pros* - Semi-retro look with circular headlamp, Driveability and Performance is superb. Handle bar position is very good for comfortable sitting posture with hands slightly bent in elbows. Very easy to handle in traffic. *Cons* - Very bad design/aesthetics of fuel tank (some odd shape), Color schemes are odd (not impressive), Turning radius is higher than Hunter (Needs larger space to turn the vehicle). Cost is on higher side for lower CC as compared to Hunter (mainly due to features). Overall, none of them is meeting my requirements (as mentioned above) and hence, I decided to wait for Kawasaki W175 or Yamaha XSR or Improved version of Royal Enfield Hunter. All the best! It's Marketing, Honda only wants you to get into their Big Wing Showroom and drool on its much expensive bikes take loan and ride it. It's very old strategy, BMW doing same with its small capacity bikes. Everyone will definitely check CB 650, CBR 650, CBX ADV 500. 😉🙃
TVS Ronin with USD and mono suspension makes a lot of difference. Plus Air and liquid. Ground clearance. Due to light weight it will give more mileage. So in anyways it's way to better than other machines.
i am going for TVS ronin , didn't like hunter looks and with halogen headlamp, first choice was highness but same problem bigwing showroom not available at my city.
Led headlights are worse than halogen ones. One they can easily disorient the opposite traffic at night and two, they performed poorly in foggy weather.

Hello. As per what RE has said, they have an oil pump which forces the engine oil to the top of the cylinder and hence get the oil cooled in the process with air cooling done by the fins on the body of the cylinder. There are many potholes and big speed breakers ( made for trucks and buses ) all around India, the major reason why jawa classic and jawa 42 sold less was its ground clearance.... now coming to hunter 150.5 mm is stock ground clearance now depends upon riders and pillions weight this will reduce to 145 max.... If you live in a city where there is less movements of trucks and buses then this can be a go to bike in cities never ever think of touring

Seeing all its +ve and -ve, I would say skip this bike. Rather buy a Honda CB350. I covered the whole south India on it recently (15000 Km in 3 months )and can say that Honda is class apart in terms of performance, reliability, off roading, top speed, and I was riding at 120kmph most of the time, with zero vibrations. ❤️

Price is huge factor in decision making today we visited showrooms of re first and then tvs the top end blue in hunter does not look the same when seen in person,daper option colours are better exhaust length is shorter in base varient , Agreed Ronin is length could have been slightly longer, I couldn't feel the weight difference, exhaust note of Ronin is great Other wise Once you've seen the hunter there is no point in going for Ronin in my opinion , 350 cc bike is priced a few thousands lower than 225cc other than usd fork there is no big difference in specs to justify for tvs

@@Kukreti68 DCABS will be minimum as it is a 350cc bike. I assume a slipper clutch may not be essential though desirable as these bikes are not meant for aggressive riding. Well that's my view.
I would choose Ronin anyday because it's more flickable in the city and has all led setup, the halogen lamps look really outdated now plus Ronin has more features with better mileage

TVS is cheap to maintain. Trust me all RE’s are expensive to maintain and are prone to issues. RE is like haathi not because it’s slow but because it will eat through your pocket. Visit a RE service station… after the people employees are local RE mechanics. They are not well trained to take care of the newer engines. And huge issues of parts availability because they cannot produce the spare parts as much as they need it..and they need a lot because the parts wear out a lot faster than you think. Also the service station is always at chaos…as though they have a huge crisis everytime I visit. I know this cause I have a RE continental gt 535 and a Honda CB 350 highness

Yezdi jawa ki build quality is not good because i was going for test drive for yezdi scrambler and roadsters but that bike has corrosion inside silencer (exhaust) and even then I Google it and i found out that it's build quality is not good. I rejected yezdi jawa from my list. I would recommend Royal Enfield.

No doubt Ronini is a good bike, but if you are below 5'8" of height. It will look good to you.

I thought ronin was worst weird designed bike, until they released the hunter. Had really high hopes from RE. Honda is the best looking of the three now
Price is huge factor in decision making today we visited showrooms of re first and then tvs the top end blue in hunter does not look the same when seen in person,daper option colours are better exhaust length is shorter in base varient , Agreed Ronin is length could have been slightly longer, I couldn't feel the weight difference, exhaust note of Ronin is great Other wise Once you've seen the hunter there is no point in going for Ronin in my opinion , 350 cc bike is priced a few thousands lower than 225cc other than usd fork there is no big difference in specs to justify for tvs

@@Kukreti68 we don't need to change gears frequently in RE.. So slipper clutch would be kind of useless
@@Kukreti68 DCABS will be minimum as it is a 350cc bike. I assume a slipper clutch may not be essential though desirable as these bikes are not meant for aggressive riding. Well that's my view.
I would choose Ronin anyday because it's more flickable in the city and has all led setup, the halogen lamps look really outdated now plus Ronin has more features with better mileage

But in this point RE will win in sales.if Hunter price point almost same as Ronin.
TVS is cheap to maintain. Trust me all RE’s are expensive to maintain and are prone to issues. RE is like haathi not because it’s slow but because it will eat through your pocket. Visit a RE service station… after the people employees are local RE mechanics. They are not well trained to take care of the newer engines. And huge issues of parts availability because they cannot produce the spare parts as much as they need it..and they need a lot because the parts wear out a lot faster than you think. Also the service station is always at chaos…as though they have a huge crisis everytime I visit.

Yezdi jawa ki build quality is not good because i was going for test drive for yezdi scrambler and roadsters but that bike has corrosion inside silencer (exhaust) and even then I Google it and i found out that it's build quality is not good. I rejected yezdi jawa from my list. I would recommend Royal Enfield.
