Glad I found you! I adopted 2 big puppies and have decided to spend the rest of my life traveling with my pups. Either camping, RV or van conversion. People tell me it can’t be done because I’m old and the pups are going to be big. People telling me that I can’t, is all the motivation I need to make it happen
I enjoyed watching this video and seeing how nice they have made the campsites so people can enjoy a level site if they have a tent. It would be a great place to take an Aliner folding camping trailer.
Oh.. thanks so much. That's so nice. I try hard to put out content that's fun and somewhat educational. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Maybe i'll go live someday like you !!
Man, I like going camping in places where I know I'll enjoy my time, and McWilliams Campground looks like a great place to camp. Apple and Google maps say it's 325 miles or 5 hours away from me. I'll keep it on my list, and next time I want to chill out and just cook all day around camp, I might just take the drive and enjoy the scenery and peace there. I've done 4-hour roadtrips to camp in Arizona, so one more hour is nothing. I checked their website and didn't see anything about showers?... yes or no? And, how is cell phone reception? Thanks for the video... I bookmarked this gem of a place for future reference. Hope you enjoyed your time there! Cheers! Pete - KI7LIL
Hey Pete.. Unfortunately they don't have any showers. Also.. cell phone reception is nill. Great I guess if you want to be smelly and off grid!!! Just kidding.. sorta.. It's really a beautiful location. We had issues with the altitude.. so we need to better acclimate ourselves to the high elevation..
@@GoldenK9Campers Ok, thanks! Instead of tent camping out of the Jeep I'd have to bring the camper and use the exterior shower for quick rinses, and I can keep in touch with my wife with the Garmin inReach mini sending text messages. For any altitude sickness problems I'd bring cans of Boost Oxygen (available from Amazon) for relief. I wonder if it's a problem for dogs?... I've brought our Chiweenie (Marshall) camping in northern Arizona forests at 7,500'+ elevations and didn't see any signs he was having trouble. I don't know? If anything, I'd have the cans of oxygen to give him a boost and relief, too. I'm checking my calendar and I might be able to go in August... if not, then it'll have to wait until next Spring/Summer. Super cool finding out about new places to go from trusted videos instead of taking chances going into the unknown. Thanks again for all the info!
@@peterkunka2694 We didn't feel much of the affect from altitude sickness till the next morning. Supposedly it's when you sleep that it really gets ya. I think there are some prescription meds you can take to help. Will also look into the Boost Oxygen!! Thanks for the tip!
We we're in site #59. It's really hard to go wrong. All the campsites are beautiful. We're waiting for the monsoons to stop.. but as soon as we do we're trying to get up there again. Thanks for watching!!!
Did you find it hard to get a spot at that time of year? We are in Las Vegas locals and I want to head up there I’m just afraid of the first come first serve status of the campsites.
Half the campsites are reservable at recreation.gov (odd numbered campsites), even numbered campsites are first come first serve. I don't think it's likely you'd be able to nab a FF campsite on a saturday morning.. you'd likely need to grab it on Friday morning. It's beautiful though !! The elevation is a little higher than the kyle canyon side, so it does take a little acclimation
Great review of the campsite! The walk through the different camping spots was very helpful. 👍🏼
Glad it was helpful! Going to be spending this summer up there a lot !!
Such a BEAUTIFUL place! Sandee on your lap was great! Tail wagging! Thanks for sharing!
We definitely gots to go back soon. Sandee thinks she is a lapdog!! So does Jake!!
This was exactly what I was looking for thanks for this !!!
Cool.. it's really a great campground.
