I sincerely appreciate your honesty. I’m pleasantly surprised because it feels like everyone else just hands every game Mario 8-9/10 review scores simply because of the brand’s legacy (and easily offended fanbase to fear getting relentlessly dog piled by). While I don’t know whether your assessment of this game is accurate to how I would feel playing it, I found it interesting and uniquely helpful since I tend to not like these kind of games for similar reasons.
I honestly give this game a 6/10 for limitations. Some modes require joy-con or online play. I wanted to play with friends irl, but with those modes its like, we can only have so much fun with the same maps over and over.
Gotta disagree with your take on Imposter Bowser. You got two major conflicts in UX when it comes to Bowser in this game series. On one hand, you have classic Mario Party fans that enjoy Bowser in his antagonist role. On the other hand you have players such as myself who are heavy Bowser fans and almost always use the character (with the exception of adventure Mario games where he is expected to be unplayable). I really think this is the best compromise unless Nintendo can find a better villain to give the same impact of The Bowser Space. Personally I think Wart would be a great candidate for the role as the character had been dormant for years, but I doubt Nintendo would do that. Great video though 👍

This is a review where the score really doesn't matter - you have to actually listen to what he's saying, and when you do that, it makes a lot of sense. It's not just that the new modes aren't great, the new mini games aren't engaging and there aren't enough of them once you take away mode-exclusive ones. So I get it.
"Aren't enough minigames" is a silly one to criticize it for considering that if you only count the main mode's minigames, 60 is pretty average for the series.
Based on the sound of things, If you haven't played a Mario Party game in years, you'll probably lean more towards IGN's score. This one seemed more like a honest review of someone that has been playing mario party often for years but the score doesn't really match what you said near the ending imo.
It is not better than superstars , they failed to bring the best mini games on this games and despite the boards the mini games are the most important feature at least for me

So, my only annoyance with the game, is mode exclusive. Joy-con and online only maps lessens the maps entirely. Some people will say otherwise, but again, this is my opinion. I had some fun with my friend, but we kept seeing the same maps and, yeah, not so good.
They should make one where you can sue competition into the ground, and one that you can change the rules after they are established by rewriting them. That is Nintendo right now. Don't support Nintendo join the boycott.

This reviewer must not like Mario Party. I think this is the same guy who criticized MP Superstars character roster for not having as many characters as super did and kept comparing Superstars to super based on what his kids said. Bad review.
And this is why no one uses Game urilnalists for whether or not to buy a game. For everyone's point of reference, the main mode here without motion controls has about as many minigames as mario party 1 (53. 58 with motion i think its the numbers) and most others were around the 55-65 marker even Super mario party. Superstars had more because they were all minigames that were made for board mode and were remastered and I hear they still gave that a 6/10. Also important to note some if these minigames last a bit longer and have more depth to them hence the 90min for a 10turn game. Mario party has needed more modes for ages in my opinion and Jamboree is delivering. The only thing its really missing is the classic minigame only modes like "Win 3-5 minigames to win" and stuff like that. Definitely not a 6/10. I'd say a 8/10 at worse
