      Bro I got a 5 month old rotti. Had her since she left her mom. She does pretty good with me while I'm home but i stay gone for 20-22 days straight. When I'm home for 12 days she listens somewhat and is a great dog. While I'm gone though she RUNS my wife. No house training and absolutely NO OBIDIENCE. What do I do

      @@nickking8274 hard to say without knowing the dog. Time and patience is the first place to start. Learn to understand what triggers her coming from a different family you just never know

    • @nickking8274
      @nickking8274 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      She plays a lot with our older dog like dogs do but the biggest issue is not listening. The house training part isnt too hard we just have to constantly let her outside until she uses the bathroom. Which isn't the worst, it's just not listening putting her paws on counter being nosey, not stopping when shes being too ruff with the other dog. Simple over playful puppy stuff. Any tips that may help on the training side?

      @@nickking8274 maybe get all her energy out then work on training? So she’s not as excited when you’re trying to keep her attention.

    • @nickking8274

      Honestly thats all it is. She has SO MUCH ENERGY. With my wife working we keep her in a kennel. And when she gets home she lets her out tonrun n play n all that. She doesnt listen to well at that point. but if shes napping during the day or at night when shes tired, if u wake her up n tell her something she is instantly obedient. How do I get the energy outta her with a work schedule? Best recommendation when u cant be home all day and your rott only acts up when shes 90 to nothing? Will she grow out of it? Do I have to train her out of it?

He doesn’t like being in the house since puppy i dont know why is why we build a house for him. Our house is fenced all around and we have a huge garden so he tends to run around everyday if he comes out of his house. The only thing about him is that if anyone comes and carries something out from the premises that are not family, Max would be growling like he is about to attack and if we tell him to stop, he would stop. He is such a wonderful dog

    Had a rottie for several years and your advice is spot on! Mine followed me into the bathroom when I was going for a shower even though she hated the shower. The heat tip is really important, in the beginning I did not understand that they overheat that easily. Even 18-20 degrees C outside and if it was sunny she had to stop to cool down just walking. A kiddie pool was perfect during the summer.

Rottie coats do have good natural cleaning abilities and make sure your not washing out the natural oils .
    Here's a few tips for new owners taking your rottie to the beach/sea for the first time.. never pull them on the lead towards and into the sea as they instinctively know the sea is big scary and dangerous...watch their reaction when they see the sea for the first time! Make sure the sea is calm, no crashing waves , give them time to acclimatise and allow them to raise their own confidence, just walk along the shore ankle deep, without them on the lead (check your surroundings thoroughly first ) so they know you're not going to drag them in and they will simply follow you until their natural fear subsides as they can see it's safe for you too.
    With swimming pools make sure you have big wide steps so your dog can get in and out safely and easily,. Before your dog gets in any body of water, pool or lake... watch it's behaviour..they naturally check out wether they can get in or out ok and will look and scan under the surface for obstacles and danger but if your dog's not the sharpest tool in the box or just overexcited then keep it on the lead when you're approaching the waters edge, in case it's likely to do a flying kamikaze after ducks or try and swim to another country.
    If you like to swim in lakes and pools, your dog will naturally want to enjoy doing that with you too and won't want to stay on the sidelines and will eventually get in with you, give them time.
    Introduce them to water depth gradually, carefully and slowly if they are learning to swim.
    OBVIOUSLY avoid fast flowing rivers, deeper sea water, tides, dirty or contaminated water, sunken dangers ( entanglement ) crocodiles , jelly fish etc. Try and avoid nesting swans and wildlife.
    If your playin fetch in a lake for longer periods always make sure your dog's still got enough stamina left to get back to shore ok, wet fur is heavy..and you might be unaware how exhausted your dog is.
    Don't leave your dog on the shore if your in a small raft/canoe/dingy as they will swim out to you and capsize your vessel.
    Dog's have been known to swim with dolphins in the sea from boats but that's another story .Never force your dog into water, they're not keen on ( human ) baths either, ( they know it's difficult to get in and out )... even though mine would try and climb in If I was in the bath..they loved the bubbles ! . Use a hose pipe /paddling pool in the garden if you have these..makes wash time more fun and easier for owners . Have towels ready and make sure ground is clean as they will immediately roll around on the floor.
    I am certainly no professional,...just things I previously experienced with my rotties, hope it might help someone, always seek professional advice, do your own research, read watch learn as much as you can before committing to a rottie and they'll be the best soulmate ever.
    A life without a rottie ain't a life ❤️

    as a former rotty breeder, I have to say your advice is spot on. I pituitary like your advice on what age to buy your pup. I kept my litters till they were 8 weeks old before I would start letting them go Often I would allow potential buyers to come and pick out their pup at about 6 weeks then we put a ribbon or collar on the pup so we could tell them apart. Today I am thinking of buying another rotty. My last one died 5 years ago and it is kind of lonely

    I've had many dogs, @ 60 my son gave my wife and I a 9 week old male Rottweiler.
    Titus is 4 1/2 now.
    Spot on about treating them like a person. I talk to Titus about everything and he definitely knows our tonality and we know his. We keep honey bees and Titus job is to run off the bears or at least let us know about it. He has a distinctive grow for bear related issues.
    I've had some good dogs in my life, mostly bird dogs, a few healers and some hounds.
    While much of the training is the same I can say this.. The Rottweiler is a working dog. They want a job.

    Hi! Thank you for your great content! Love your channel! Thank you! We have an almost 4-month-old Rottie fur-baby named Hope. She's adorable and the 3rd Rottie we've had. We got Hope when she was 8 weeks old. Hope is a real 'talker' and vocalizes her feelings well (adorable-grumbling when our Alpha dog eats something first, etc...lol) We also have a male 10 year old Chihuahua (the Alpha) and a 6 year old chihuahua female. The female Chi mother's Hope and tries to play until it gets dangerous and then she gives the baby a correction. The male Chi, however, has no patience for when Hope was the 'zoomies' or when she plays to rough with the female Chi and will run up, barking, and bite Hope in the cheek or ear - making her yip. I understand that the newest fur baby has to find her way in the 'pack' but, I'm afraid she'll learn to angry-bite by watching what the male Chi does to her. Am I wrong? What has made me worry is that twice, now, when Hope was tired and not getting her way, she circled me and nipped at my pants. It didn't seem just 'puppyish' it seemed too focussed and both times only to me. We've had Chi s together with Rotties before and it has worked out, fine. I've never come across this circling/nipping with either of our other Rottie's, but, also never had a 4 lb Chi biting at the Rottie... it's only happened twice, but continued for 3-4 minutes and we have grandchildren to think of ... any suggestions?

    • @xeniarotti1797

      You better get the “alpha” dog to watch how it corrects the rottie because once your rottie gets to a certain size it will snap back

    Just got my Rott puppy last month and haven't had too much trouble with him chewing but I also make sure he has an abundance of appropriate things to chew on. He can easily reach my shoe rack due to the way my house is set up so it's not a matter of putting them up, he just has to know what he is allowed to chew on and what he isn't. A simple "NO!" and redirect does wonders.

    So my Rotti is 10 months old now my first dog as an adult, and I must say I couldn’t imagine having another breed ever, my girl is my best friend she is the most loyal friend I’ve ever had. I won’t lie the beginning is frustrating a lot of redirection, things ruined but it’s not their fault, Rottweilers are extremely smart and love eye contact, I use visual commands more than words but she knows both. She also knows commands in Spanish and English, she’s an amazing beautiful dog, I have no fear of her hurting another dog or person, she’s such a loving girl but she is also very protective of me. She’s ruined so much of my stuff but it was my fault for leaving in her path, I noticed if she’s bored or say I don’t get enough exercise the

    We are about to get our puppy this coming week. With our previous rottie we had him trained pretty well, but I was always anxious to take him out by myself on walks or at the dog park. My husband was the alpha and while Bruno did listen to me I was a bit afraid to take him places because I knew that if he got curious I wasn't gonna be able to reign him in. Any tips on how to get to the point where he listen to my commands even if I am not the alpha?

    • @xeniarotti1797
      @xeniarotti1797 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You don’t need to worry about being the alpha you do need to work on basic commands with the dog on your own with treats or toys whatever the dog is most motivated by, find something and use it. Also create a bond with the dog and like he said treat it as a family member you should hand feed or Atleast feed the dog and give him or her water etc so that they understand that you are before them in the pack. Rotties are very stubborn sometimes so you really just need to be patient I hope this helps

    How do they do around small children, I would want to keep them and my kids safe? I plan on socializing them and taking them to a dog training school. Also how much do you charge for puppies? I’m just trying to get a better idea as to cost and what to expect. You sound like a responsible dog breeder along with being very knowledgeable.
