As someone from Glasgow I would recommend a visit to great western road and Byers road. If you get the Subway and get off at Kelvinbridge or Hillhead. Glasgow botanic gardens are across great western road from the start of Byers road. There is also Oran Mor a church converted into a pub and gig venue glad you liked the southside.

There is Citizen M or the Bagpiping centre in Glasgow city centre. You have the Grovenor Hotel in West end of city there are many more Hotels in the city. Hope this helps a little.

Thank you for this wonderful video. It was a joy to watch. Once I lived in Glasgow, the west end and southside and it was lovely to see the auld place although many changes. I have heard so many good things about BAM so much so I must visit it when I come over. (I no longer live in Glasgow) Best wishes.

I always get very envious of people who stay in Edinburgh when I watch one of your videos. However hats off to you and Simon, as having lived in Glasgow all my life and the south side for 12 years now you guys made it look good! Beautifully filmed and put together to bring out the best in the south side.

We were extremely lucky with the weather - but I still think that the fun vibe of Southside would shine through even in the more typical wetter weather! (I gotta say the sun was putting everyone we met into such a good mood though! So that was another thing that made us enjoy the city vibe even more than usual!)

I know right? It’s unbelievable to me that people miss out on all this! Unfortunately it doesn’t help that immediately south of the river you get that industrial feeling strip that doesn’t quite invite first time visitors for exploring beyond the Clyde. ./ very worth it though!!

Nice to see lots of cool places to visit next time I’m in the Southside.
Re the Burrell Collection, the building isn’t new, they just refurbished the previous one (which opened in 1983) and increased the space for exhibits by converting basement storage areas to gallery space.

You could do a tour of Glasgow's museums. The Kelvingrove art galleries with Kelvingrove park to have a rest in. The people palace on Glasgow green it has a nice tea house in a massive greenhouse. The museum of religion next to The cathedral with a wee tour of the oldest house in Glasgow that Mary Queen of Scots stay in just next to it. The Transport museum then cross the river on the bridge to the science museum. Lots to see in Glasgow. I almost forgot tenements house a view into what a tenement used to look like. There is the museum of modern art which has the Duke of Wellington statue outside which always has I traffic cone on his head. I love my home city. It is rough around the edges but the people have heart of gold. Glaswegians sound angry to a lot of people but if you ask for directions chances are they will take you to where you are going.

There are some beautiful neighbourhoods on the Southside and a number of them run into one another in a swathe. Pollockshields borders Strathbungo to the east of Queens Park and runs down to Maxwell Park which borders Pollock Country Park to the South. To the West of Pollock Park, on the other side of the motorway, there is the area of Dumbreck which borders Bellahouston Park. Going South of Queens Park / Shawlands you're into areas like Newlands, Cathcart and heading to the city's border with Giffnock. Check out some of these areas on Streetview for a taste of these areas.

No Clue about the Southend back then, next time I hope to get there one day and visit the SouthEND NOw. Except I'm on a very small budget for the visit, what is there for camping spots around Glasgow, would that be cheaper then a Hostel? What are the rules for setting up in parks?
