LOL! I LOVE THIS STUFF. YES, PERSPECTIVE IS MY BANE. Thank you very much. You review this job faster than I was expecting. I did these pages with plain paper and a ball point pen. No bristol paper or ink pens ( I run out of my regular supplies).
Any way, the guy coming out of the comic book shop Is HAL JORDAN. And yes, the guy getting the Cyberfrog book that Plastic Man stole from Hal is Koji Kabuto the pilot of Mazinger-Z ( Transor-Z).
I'm a fan of George Perez and Jose Luis Garcia Lopez. I also love manga and I try to use that story telling style.

As I understand Dr. Hell is either Italian or German. That is how he met Count broken at the end of WWII. That will explain why they are feminazis....
I don’t know if Ethan said this specifically but your door is sitting almost directly on the horizon line. Only extremely distant objects will sit on the horizon line. Practically every other object will meet the ground somewhere under the horizon. The closer the object the farther under the horizon it will be.

When EVS was talking about "breaking through the eye", it reminded me of advice Steven King gave about walking away from a piece, for a few months, in order to do that. Does it work for drawing as well?

Another trick I've seen digital artists use is to flip the image horizontally (like a mirror).
Walking away from a piece, could you please elaborate more on that? Like what is the importance and purpose when used?
Prot07ype Sure. In writing, it is just as easy to miss your mistakes because you are "too close" to the project. Your brain knows what you intended to be on the page, and your brain will auto-fill missing pieces. So, when you finish a drawing or story, put it away and don't even look at it for 3-6 months. When you look at it after that time apart, your brain will have forgotten what is supposed to be there, and you will see what is actually there. This allows you to edit more clearly. It works for me in writing. ;)

I was doing all the faces by hand. I only use a ruler for the buildings... My bad.

I noticed that a lot of the present day artists are scanning their artwork. Can you make a future video explaining the pros and cons of this process and how exactly this is done? What equipment and software is required, etc.? Thanks, I learn something new each time and appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us.

Great review Ethan. You are fantastic. The problem I have with some books, non marvel, and artists that haven't made it yet. Is that I tend to look at something of the art side and take it for the artists take on something. Whatever for good or bad. i saw a lot of this type of artwork when I was in art school. But for the greater good some of these guys went on to become the fantastic illustrators we have working today. Keep it up. I think this guy had the potential to become a great illustrator.

Tranzor Z wasn't trying to kill Rose Tico... he was trying to teach her a lesson that "Suicide Ramming is Wrong" in the same manner that Rose taught that lesson to Finn. I liked the ladies scowling in every panel, that helped to teach me that they're right, even when they have terrible ideas and don't earn their positions. I learned from this. Thanks Juan.

Thank you for taking the time to explain this stuff, I always seem to pick up a gem from you. To Juan Soto, thank you for having the courage to submit your work, I would have made the same mistakes as you, but now we can all learn from this.

OMG, it is soo bad! Have you heard what they are doing to Princess Leia, because Carrie Fisher is not around? She's basically getting a Darth Vader life preserving suit, that is white. Due to some sort of disfiguring complication that arose from space exposure but only flared up when escaping salty plains. They are also going to be using some new technology to make the voice sound like hers, even though it won't be played by her. It is shameful.

Holy Crap the Tranzor-Z drop was epic. Man you could not do put that show on TV today. There'd be all kinds of fainting and pearl-clutching about some of the characters. And I don't mean Aphrodite-A's giant boob missiles.

I thought it was Hal buying the comics. 🤷♂️ My confusion with the depictions were less than yours, Ethan, but I think that came from being removed from viewing the panels close-up in-person. Super fun story!

Ethan, A guy a knew a long time ago used to paint portraits of people but all the likenesses of the other people resembled him (the artist). Have you ever come across that phenomenon? Is there a name for it? If not, could you make up a name for it?

Even in your portfolio vids we can't escape the star wars stuff 🙈 I will say that the artist is pretty great with preserving likeness but as you mentioned, has issues with scaling in perspective shots. (Doorway, buildings, action figures, etc)
