His drawing videos and comic reviews were the reason I started following him. Unfortunately I'm not a star wars fan, so I don't watch his videos anymore. But every once in a while, I come back to check out if he's done any art related videos. Nice to see he's done another review.

Uncle Ethan, there are slugs for shotguns but they would not look like that. There are also flachete, but those would look more like small spikes.

Love his art style btw and I think, if possible, we'll be needing a new inking tutorial. I've been searching all over TH-cam and have even bought a book on inking, but nothing is better than watching a video on it. (If time permits it though 😉).

I will be honest, your channel helped me to reverse my Calart-y style of drawing (since that was the only art style I was exposed to since middle school all the way through college) back to the visually appealing, jagged realist style that I learned from watching shows like DCAU and ATLA. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for these videos. When I was in school my dream was always to become a comic book artist. I drew and drew through university and somewhere along the way lost my passion; life got into the way. Watching your videos rekindled my interest in drawing.

15:55 Shotguns can actually fire 3 types of ammo that I know of. Primarily they are either shot (which is what you were thinking of) or slugs (which are single large bullets). They can also shoot sabot rounds which are rounds much smaller than the barrel that have a special padding to fill out the size and make them fly straight. So theoretically he could also shoot small metal arrows out of the gun if he used a sabot round that made them fit.
I'm glad you broke out of the Star Wars bubble. These reviews are my favorites. I always learn something.

EVS, I started watching the profile reviews and I am enjoying very much. Please, please, please continue with this kind of contents. New and potential talents needs your honest guidance which the world is now very lacking in mentorship and failing in school system.
Small point of correction, shotguns can shoot solid slugs as well as spreading shot. Slugs would be less likely to cut a head off, though. They're mainly used for large game or self-defense.

Im not an artist but i still like watching you critique someone else's work. As someone who makes music i understand the value of constructive criticism.
Slug Shot in a shotgun uses a single projectile rather than a bunch of small ones.
15:55 It's a homemade slug Dreadlocks made in a previous panel.
You don't Have to load a shotgun with buckshot uncle Ethan. There's slugs as well. One big projectile taking up the whole barrel. Some king of blessed wood projectiles in this case. (They need to have been hollowed out and filled with lead or something though, or they'd start to spin and never hit the monster straight on like it does in the art)

I camped out for 2 nights for Episode 1 back in the day. Directly behind us in line was Dan Fraga and Rob Liefeld. My buddy, Matt Yackey, was coloring for a color house at the time and he left the movie working for Rob for a number of years (matt still colors...mostly for Marvel today). Over the years, I've had the opportunity to meet some cool guys just by association...everyone is so talented, and being artists, generally big fans of music. Since I played a lot of guitar, I got to see the "rockin" side of comics....one person that stands out is Danny Miki...who used to do an awesome Bruce Dickinson (Iron maiden)...another is the colorist Dan Kemp...."DK felon"...the greatest rapper of all time.

a good way to think about the horizon line, is to think of it as the mean sea level. it's not necessarily where the ground meets the sky, but where the sea meets the sky. the earth is a misshapen rock, but the water is level to a degree. this is why the mountains should be above the horizon line in the first panels.
everything "on earth" is above the horizon line...including the ground...unless it is perfectly flat, and at sea level.

Ethan, sabot rounds for a shotgun are a thing. That's one single lump of lead, silver or whatever you want it to be. If you don't care about barrel life it could even be tungsten or something else hard.

15:46 I don't think that's a shotgun, it's a pistol held in one hand. But the fact that you call it a shotgun makes me think that my first reaction that the 'right at us' part was drawn too big is correct.
