I'm not going to argue, but still sounds to me like the 'click-click' is coming from something directly in the cabin and not from the gearbox or shift mechanism. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@bigneutron77 I think you interpret Jaqen's comment wrongly. Never did he say that cars with a fast 0-60 time are not a blast to drive. Jaqen is saying that companies should focus on making cars a blast to drive, and if a fast 0-60 is also possible within that fun driving recipe, sure go ahead. Just like your own car (which car is it by the way, I'm curious :), both a fast 0-60 and fun driving can be achieved simultaneously! But fast 0-60 times should not be a company's main focus.

He was a machine designer and a very excellent machinist and at the time I didn’t understand the way everything for the supercharger worked but he certainly did and the car had a lot more power if you could call it that. He also owned a Volvo that looked like my 47 Ford sedan. LOL. The best part of all of this relationship between he and I was he taught me a lot about mechanics and automobiles and he also built a 53 Ford stock looking as it could be with a hemi in it, again at the time I didn’t understand racing camshafts etc. multiple carbs etc.
One of the best parts about this is it got sold to a friend of mine for $1000, and we certainly did have fun with it and just to add one additional thing it had a three speed Cadillac transmission in it and it was on the column.

Now this is how you make a car video! I saw the autocar review of this car a few days ago and it was absolute garbage, sound was so bad and was so dull and boring that I just muted it and watched the video for the car!
Henry and the gang really let passion show and cover a car like this in the best way possible! Super video worthy of an epic car like this!
This one goes straight to my favorites along with the carfection eagel e type Video from some time back! Restomods are the best kind of cars today period!

This is crazy but for some reason I can still see the polestar one in the design language. Super cool

Not crazy at all. The P1800 was a big inspiration for the Polestar 1 and many feature lines are “stolen” from the older car.

I’m not a Volvo guy in any sense, but this is automotive perfection ⚡️Easily up there in terms of style with the Singer vehicle design Porsche 911.
Henry once again captures the essence of automotive journalism in one easy episode 👍

Love it! The Volvo 1800 was always one of my favorites. Bring it on over.

Back in the late '90s I had it in mind to put an Oldsmobile 215/3.5 engine in a P1800. Actually bought the engine, had a P1800S in the driveway. At that time people were putting Ford 289s in them, there were books published on how they did it. Never did it but I still think it would be a good pairing, not as radical nor as expensive as the subject car, it would've been more relaxed yet quite powerful for the era.
The view from the side mirrors of a P1800 is quite nice, those fins are iconic.

I had a '67 with a 4 speed and hydraulic OD. They cut thru the air real nice, so nice no air came blasting thru when the windows were both down. Was hella hot in summer. Fun and unique tho.

Restomods are absolutely the way to go if you want pure design, style, individuality & performance! Why would anyone want a common modern day performance car is beyond me
