I like what you are saying with the small tasks you can do that lead to bigger things, but the streaming and server dependence ruins it for me. Put a smaller area as a download and then I'll look at it.
We need the option to choose to not be so reliant on the cloud, my internet is spotty and I share it with family members . I want to play this game but not gonna do so until I can install it (at the least allowing a manual install with additional detail on the cloud if my connection can handle it like 2020) I absolutely agree re the need to have a sense of purpose.
I agree but not really in this particular case. The entire game simply cannot be localized. The earth they rendered is literally petabyes of data. I think they dropped the ball by making it too cloud based compared to 2020 though.
@@MrCrazyjoe259 but flight simulator 2020 was significantly larger right so clearly something has been cut? I don’t need every city in high detail either, if you could choose what to download that would be nice.
@@abnorth2276 You know that in MSFS 2020 they had Petabytes on their servers with all the terrain data and stuff? 200GB aint gonna cut it xD. You need a cloud for that
It’s about having that base 200gb to help keep things stable . Not everyone has a super fast broadband and often people with families may have to share the internet with multiple family members so it’s not feasible to rely on the internet for your entire experience. I can’t help but feel that Microsoft forced Asobo to do this. A middle way to solve this is allowing users to choose the size of their cache up to whatever number they like , if I want a terabyte sized cache then let me! this could help to increase stability.
It's great, loving career mode so far. The challenge league is amazing as well... I haven't done world photographer or any activities yet so I can't speak on those, but it's a huge improvement over 2020 in file size and quality alone. Definitely the most ambitious flight simulator ever and the cloud tech is just amazing. can't wait to see what they do with it since it's not even at 100% right now
I don't understand the apologists that this should of been expected. Pretty much the most important thing to get right was server load. You can't tell gamers to 'expect' that they will not be able to access the game they paid for for several days. Many of us still not able to access it completely down to location.
Right now? No. Maybe next year some time. Until then MSFS2020 works fine. I can even download hundreds of liveries for free, unlike 2024 which is another limitation of this streaming nonsense.
Well so far it's definitely not worth my time or money. After 3 days I still can't even load into the game world (actually I did manage to once, but my plane was invisible). What a garbage launch it has been so far.
I was really excited for this one and doing the search and rescue missions. The only way I can see you can do them is to go into career mode. Long path ahead I guess
I think the back lash was so bad because unlike 2020. People don't have infinite time to wait nor free money to toss around. 70-200 hundo is becoming a steep ask. And releasing sub par products at that price opens you up to more scrutiny.
I think you take on it is realty good, im playing on xbox and am having a good time, there is so much to do or you can load up any area and just fly by hand, its only going to get better dont forget about the updates, im excited🙏😀✈️
My typical download speed is 800 mbs. I should be good. It's going to be up to their servers. I'm looking forward to all the cry babies giving up on this game so that the servers won't be hit. So I mean the number of crybabies is phenomenal.
Yes, the launch was disappointing, but predictable. With any game, launch day is going to see an abnormally large number of people trying access it on the first day. This is especially true of a game pass title, because it is free to play for subscribers. Given the nature of the title, being streamed from the cloud, Microsoft had the option to either cater for this abnormally large load and scale its servers accordingly for launch or not. Given that there would almost certainly be a large drop off of users almost immediately after launch, I think Microsoft took a commercial decision to ride it out, rather than going to the expense of catering for a abnormally large and transitory user numbers seen on launch day. Yes, it sucks for FS enthusiasts, having the launch ruined by an influx of curious casual users, but give it time and I think MSFS2024 is going to be epic.
Dont understand how microsoft asobo get away with this. I expected better and it would be a follow on from 2020. But it looks like there starting ffrom scratch again.
No its not, I got it half price and still not worth it, I flew over my area for 2 minutes and and just a flat grey, brown, green nothingless with vehicles zooming about. Forget it, if I could refund I would

I m not concerned. It ll all be sorted out with time. I have everything ready but I m not rushing to play it now.
Good review. Glad to hear someone not continuously complaining.
I didn’t pay for it so I have no complaints and can wait until next year when they fix bugs but it I paid for this I would be pissed
The heavy use of the cloud for these types of games is not the solution.
Exactly, I would rather have the game be 200gb and be able to play it anytime.

I love it, few bugs here and there, but people are ridiculous. I really enjoy this.
I am with you 🛩
Can’t wait to play this; especially with VR ! 🔥
You will be given permanent epilepsy

Donkey Kang and The Legend of Zoldor VII: Remake
Is it worth buying, or just playing on game pass?

Soo tempting. Will check it out for sure.. maybe when things smooth out a bit.

Is it true its $300 AUD for the top spec? That's ridiculous.
Still need to upgrade my Rig before I can run this, but I might pass on this I prefer a bit of arcade in my flights
128gb? Or 192gb? Ram
This is the most Australian person I've ever heard
The bean counters got it wrong big time.

Bought the standard edition
High End settings spec PC 21.9
Gave it 2 days
Now back to ETS2,I honestly find it more enjoyable.
No its not, I got it half price and still not worth it, I flew over my area for 2 minutes and and just a flat grey, brown, green nothingless with vehicles zooming about. Forget it, if I could refund I would
Need a super computer to run this
Save your money and get it in 6 months.. right now you are basically paying for fs20 with //42 effect packs
