Thank you so much for taking the time to watch this video!
I currently work full-time in Japan as a "Salary Man" but I'm on my way to becoming a full-time creator and contribute to society through making content that I believe in and matter to me.
This is my dream and I know I won't be able to make this happen without the support from each and every one of you. So it would be great if you could support my life journey by joining "The Community".

Life might be simpler than we think it is if we knew how to remain unbothered... :)
I like your content i feel like your describing what thinking, I lived 10 years in japan i had the best time there though it was stressful because of my study, i hope to visit japan again.
Thank you for this. You are amazing.
Expectations and disappointments are exactly it! You have acquired a knowledge that many never get to comprehend, let alone master. I love your videos because they really do target societal issues but use your experiences as an example. Take care handsome 😊💖
Wow thank you for sharing this so relieved that I am not the only one have these feelings ❤️👊🏻
So nice that your video is in English so it’s very easy to follow ❤️👊🏻
That shot at 1:45 of you on the playground toy really made me laugh!

Interesting. I learned along time ago in my preteen years to stop caring. In my mind a person that deliberately go out of their way to sabotage my progress in life is a person that is threatened by my future success. "Most people will not like you because your spirit irritates their demons"-Denzel Washington. Keep pushing forward. You're doing great! Just stay humble.
Brilliantly said !!
3rd. point is a valuable lesson in life. Specially if you're working in a customer's related job. There're people hard to get along well. And it's logical. We're different. With our own troubles, past experiences, worries, good, better and bad days etc. We're not able to please everybody, every moment, everywhere. As simple as that. That was a really important lesson when I started working ("Carlos, it's not a personal issue. Be professional, polite, listen and treat others the same way you like they treat yourself").
I realized that my choice is living my life with family, friends and relationships sharing basics and common values (even our huge differences): they cheer up, care, help and share their time, love and good feelings with me. Exactly what I'm doing with them. I think is a valid path.
I should say thanks. A lot. Sometimes is hard get enough time to think in such kind of things. You're doing a great work here. A big big hug from... Spain!.
Your content has its own flavor that’s what makes it interesting for us.
Absolutely spot on, you've really hit the nail on the head!
Until I discovered minimilism about seven years ago I lived my entire life making life decisions that always considered other people and their view's first in both business and personal life, in other words I was a doormat for everyone to use . The annoying thing is I actually thought I was happy chasing money and people's approval whilst working ridiculously long hour's, then suddenly with a change of career I realized that I could live life to suit me and amazingly people's opinions of me never changed it was as if they didn't even notice that now I would say no to requests that previously I had always acquiesced to.
I cut my hours completely down to twenty hour's per week and I've never been happier, people no longer pester me with inanely unimportant requests and my life is my own again.
I’ve been getting into stoic philosophies more recently, it’s really helping me with my mental health
I see so much of myself in you that I feel safe to know that I'm not the only one who have such thoughts. Thanks for making me feel less weird about myself.
I feel so much better since I've stopped wanting to make myself better, and just accept what is, right now. I'm done with all these goals. My goal is now to exist for the day. No more expectations about the future. Future is now anyway. As long as I have the essentials to live, I am fine. And I just have more than enough even though I don't have much in society's standards. I just practice contentment for what I have, not wanting more. And if I do want more, I meditate and try to let those feelings come, and see why they are present. What's the emptiness I'm trying to fill with another goal? Another way to better myself? I'm done with the self-help message that I should constantly improve. I'm enough. No one is special. We all are ordinary beings, equals, but it seems that we all want to be " someone". Why is that? As if being itself was not enough. If frustration comes in my life ( usually if i fall into the trap of comparing myself) , i just breathe and sit through it, allowing frustration to exist and take place. Then, it goes away, as everything always ceases to exist. The impermanence of all things is what sets me free and prevents me from falling into the rat race. There's no self, we are always changing every second just like everything else that lives. I'm not the same as i was 5 minutes ago, so why should i cling to that so-called self I should improve when I could just discover who i am every day? Feeling bothered are great occasions to learn about yourself, and look for the source of your own suffering. I say be bothered if you must, and accept to be bothered. Bring it on! I don't wanna run from negative emotions anymore, or try to make them go away. It's an endless cycle that I can't stop anyway. They'll come back. I was so much into self-help that I was turning into a narcissistic person, always about me, my goals, my diet, my body, my this, and that. I'm so glad i got out before my 50th birthday, 20 years of self-help thought me one thing: There is no self. And that's a liberation....
With high expectation comes high disappointment...
With lower expectation comes a more happy and fulfilling life...
Appreciate what value the most to us. :)
I enjoyed this video so much and found so much value in it that I watched it twice. You should never doubt your ability to create good content - it seems to come naturally to you. I give every one of your videos, since I first discovered you, a thumbs up.
I loved the b-roll of you in the countryside! You riding the little children's toy was adorable. Keep up the good work! Keep being an unbothered king!! ^_^
Your videos make so much sense. Keep doing what you’re doing. We all need reminded of these important life lessons. Thank you for uploading.

2. Manage your expectations. Something that not really easy to control, especially you knew the reality at first. But Sena san really give a good explanation. 🧸👍🏻
Why am i so eager to please others? Why am i so worried about how others think of me or perceive me? Looking back it’s the environment i grew up, lacking of love and support from the family which eventually shape me as an individual with low self esteem and lacking in self confidence… many years gone by through experiences paid off to be unbothered or to come to term with myself to stay calm and carefree with inner peace!

a lot of people really need to watch this video.... very helpful...
So true. Thank you for the reminder!
@SenaHimotsuma thank you for this video! Currently, I should say I'm super stressed, my hair starts to fall off. It's hard having the thoughts that "Why am I not like my classmates?" I mean I see them achieving thing they want, their ambitions they are one step close to their goals. I'm so down right now.
Thank you for another engaging video.
I particularly liked something you said about the third lesson you feel you've learned: "I have tried and I've moved on", rather than "I have tried and I have given up", which is not just playing with words.
I'm not sure I agree with Richard Feynman saying it's another person's mistake if they are unable to appreciate your efforts to engage with them. However, you can feel you've certainly done your best and don't need to feel bad about moving on.
You speak so much sense it's encouraging seeing there are many people who enjoy to be by themselves...
Sena Senpai! You are Matt De Avela of Japan. Soon, 'the amazing Sena Shimotsuma that humanity needs' in making!
All the best!
In the game of Life I'm the main character, best line
Love the little town you staying..nice, quiet and not crowded. Wish i can visit it one day🤗❤👍
I don t know, what kind of bad experiences you might have had (as many of us have had for sure).. But, what I see is a beautiful young man, very self conscious, humble yet clear in his mind.. I like your Accent, is funny and makes you unique, your face express calmness and positivity (in fact you easily smile, and that s a very powerful weapon against everything in Life).. You said it ( and I m happy you already learnt so much at your young age... It took me decades to realize it) we cannot please anybody, so whatever.. Just do what you believe in and put in in the World... It s gonna be you at that time, and the right people will understand it....and we do, good job man
Thank you for reminding me not to care about what other people think about me. I'm in the leadership role and no matter how hard I try to please people, I always end up failing. Many people love me and some people don't which bothers me a lot.
This is why I'm looking into tips on how to improve my way of thinking and I found your video! Super helpful tips which I can apply! Thank you, Sena! :)

Sena-さん、最高^_^
This is my new fave channel. :)
Wonderful video! I appreciate it and welcome the lessons! Thanks
Most worrys is about other people. Reality is that we may have some influence over others, but we never have 100% power over events or people. That is politics of the office or the outcomes of the games, is something we have little to zero power over. leaders don`t have power over how the employes think/feel/react to the decissions they make.
Great job on the video!
Great video like always! May you create a video of the books you read or recommend?
Thank you for this!

Lao Tzu is a legend
relatable! in your next video tho, include clips of you walking back to get the camera ^_^
I find that this series is an echo chamber. All of these people who know the best way to get through it, and so many are young, single, without children. Come tell me how these techniques work for you when you have a spouse or children. Until then, this can apply to people who onlybhave themselves to worry about. At least you can look forward to future subject material when that marriage or children comes, if it ever does. You'll understand then. Good luck.
♥️🇵🇭
You’re a hot fit guy.. how’s sex life and relationship if any. Or is part of minimalism to also be celibate? Thank you.
