Still using s8 and it doesn't feel slow or laggy. Its not that fast and smooth like the newer phones but it works very well for its time. Also has better resolution and PPI , headphone jack, memory card slot, LED indicator, fingerprint task bar sliding which is missing in nowadays phones. To be honest if I switch to a new phone I will miss these little things😊

Try using the s20 plus. It’s a decent upgrade and it has most of those things.

this is my phone, and i absolutely LOVE it! its not slow, using nova launcher on it and a miui control center and notification center theme, the phone works perfectly!
I have the original S8 and I use it as an ipod. It has all of my favorite music and music videos along with a bunch of games like gta san Andreas.
I see them all the time for 30 or 40 dollars. If you have never owned one and see it directly cheap it makes a great secondary device. 1440p, micro sd, one ui, ip68, glass build, super amoled display with hdr and wireless charging. It's stuck on Android 9 pie and one ui 1 but you can customize it using good lock.
I use it for maps when cycling lol for 40 dollars it makes a powerful cycling computer compared to actual cycling computers like garmin that cost 300/400/500

@@ChemicalCorpse91 if he uses it as a secondary device you can use your main phone as a hotspot. In case it falls or something he doesnt have to compromise his 1000+ dollar main phone

I've had an s8 plus since it released and I use it as a night phone to play videos while I sleep, I'm on a s21 ultra now but the s8 is probably the best phone I've bought

@d.l.3310 the s21ultra was better in every way then the s8 and is an amazing upgrade, I recently broke my s21 ultra screen though so I upgraded to s24 ultra and it is also very good

This phone can still run modern apps. I also have the galaxy S8 plus. I don’t use it as a daily driver lol I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max as my daily driver. But I recently found my old galaxy in a box and charged it up. it did have a software update immediately upon charging. Not sure what that was about. Also, as far as the apps that were on it, they did update with no problem. So as I said, it will run modern apps. It’s good if you want to give it to a kid as a tablet. Something that a kid can mess around on you can put the parental blocks in place and let them play. If you want it just as a back up or a prepaid phone it’ll work fine for that. I still believe you could drop a Sim card into this phone today and it would still operate with not much of an issue. Now he did point out that it is running on older software. And it still runs pretty smooth all things considered. As he did say it is a 2017 phone. But as I said if you have a kid and you want to give them a cell phone this would be a good start. Teach them patients for sure. Lol, and as I said, it does run modern apps so not much you can’t do with it. It just takes some patience. Yes the cameras are not up to current day standards. But at the time the cameras in this and the iPhone of 2017 worth the top-of-the-line. But if you just wanna hook it to Wi-Fi and play games on or check your Facebook or whatever it will still do all that with no problem whatsoever. You can listen to Pandora on it or Spotify. Whatever your musical fix is. It’ll still serve the Internet.I don’t think I would use it for a daily driver as I said. But if you just want something to screw around on at home, you don’t want to use your iPhone or iPad or whatever here you go.

2023? I recommend s8,s8plus,s8note,s9,s9plus,s9note still good to use in 2023 but for gamers maybe not recommended

Plus it has features like the heart rate and iris scanner which I really love, you don't get those on the new phones.

I've used this phone for almost 5 and a half years and it was not even lagging/bugging or anything else, except the battery started to drain faster, I broke it last weekend and i don't understand how is it possible that samsung screen changes are so expensive? like this phone is almost 6 years or more old and it still costs around 150 euros to change its screen, or this is only in my country? i can buy already used one for that money
No my screen is broken too and I was quoted over $200 USD.

I used that for the longest Time but then it ran out of memory i I couldn’t get more and plus I wanted to try iPhone it was years old but still ran perfectly I loved it and miss it right now I am an iPhone user. I really liked it and miss it but im not sure I can go back

My brother is still using his one. But the battery was replaced 2 years ago but dies in 7 hours. Knowing the phone is Outdated. however its not that outdated if you consider going back to android 2.3 Gingerbread onwards to android 8.0 oreo that's older and unsecure with no knox built in security.🙂🧏🏽♂️👀
