3:02 I believe the jade here is _Crassula ovata_ var. 'Crosby’s Compact'. Has a nice, prostrate growth habit if not pruned, and allowed to hang. Unusual for most jades. They don’t just grow straight down, either, as the longer stems will hang but then curl back up a bit, as well.. but if you do trim it, its namesake “compactness” is clearly evident, with very small, tightly arranged leaves..
Johnny, these vids with James are fantastic. I'm grower in California, and it's nice to see how master growers in other countries are doing it. One of your videos sent me on a quest to hybridize and create Echeveria Ling Snow here in the states. I've champains and lauis, and set to work obtaining more. While waiting for them to flower out this season, I then learned that we do have the Ling Snow here in the states, and here we call it Echeveria Ariel. So now I have some nice lauis and champains!! LOL!!! Keep up the fantastic vids, I also run a succulent channel, and know it can be a pain to keep pumping them out, but PLEASE KEEP PUMPING THEM OUT! Much love from California.
The naming thing with succulents is so random, differences form country to country and SO difficult to get the real names and breeding of new ones that come from from China, Korea and Japan. You never know what you may come up with from your hybridisation efforts. Hope you have a video on that one coming to your channel....
Thanks for the outstanding video! How much do you water them in winter? Do you have a watering guide video? Mine stretch too much as I’ve got no sun in winter :(
I am new to lithops. I have watched all of your videos. Obviously, you are in the love hemisphere, I am in the northern. Do I water them them in opposite seasons from you.
Same seasons, different times of the year.... I guess that is that what you mean... Once they start to spilt, very very little to no water at all until those old leaves have dried out an fall away easily ---- Hope this helps, if not ask again,, KateyA
What happened to Succulents Australia? The last post on Facebook was 2022 and the business website seems to suggest they are, or were, in the process of moving, but no updates
As far as we know they have closed for the foreseeable future. They MAY be at th3e Melbourne Flower and Garden Show. I will update you when I next see James.
@johnnyAGardening I'm sorry to hear that, I would have loved to visit and add to my collection. I was at the Melbourne flower and garden show this year and succulents (rooted cuttings in particular) were selling like hotcakes at the small stall there, so there's definitely a market for it. Thanks for the reply 🙏
I was so excited to see a new succulent video from this channel! I must have watched the other ones dozens of times, I love them all!
