    It's so hard in America for people to grasp that there's more to a car than just going straight. Being able to handle turns is way more fun than just going in a straight line.

      I mean sorta? America is huge. I actually think non-Americans highly underestimate how giant and diverse the US is. it depends on where you live. If you are on the west coast (California, Oregon, Washington) we have mountains so we like turns. But if you live in the south or the middle of the country, there are literally no mountains and hills. It’s just flat.

    Dude, you hit the nail straight on when you spoke about what car enthusiasts really look for. The driver experience is what it's about. Teslas really are boring and great cars. Something non-car people will never understand. I drive a modified R50 mini, I get made fun of a lot for it but it’s because I enjoy NA cars and Mini’s history. I have tuned the car so to rotate like the type r does and it’s the most fun 180hp I’ve ever felt. Car is glued to the tarmac with r comp tires and is a pure classic driving experience. I am wanting the new 11th gen or even a 10th gen if the prices come down enough at some point because the type r is the epitome of fwd driving experience.

    As an FK8 owner I LOVE the way it drives. Especially with FBO 426whp and WIDE 275 tires.... But I do think while the car is aggressive its not the prettiest car but the driving dynamics make up for any shortcomings it has in the looks department. The FK8 basically reminds me of a 1980s homologation special. It has a very 80s look to me, angular and sharp.. Not many smooth lines and curves like 90s sports cars. The interior is good in the FK8 but the FL5... the interior is INCREDIBLE. Im also an audiophile and the FL5 has a Bose stereo that I would LOVE to have. I want the FL5 to be my daily and the FK8 to be my weekend car.. I want BOTH lol.

    I totally agree with you that 10th Gen is timeless and I miss mine after going Acura TLX Type-S. But when Honda decided to mass produce a numbered vehicle the Type-R lost its uniqueness. I'd rather have one of 330 made (per year) Type-S (allegedly) without being numbered. Just my thought.

    • @reverbandchill3425
      @reverbandchill3425 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      At the end of the day, one of the main selling points of the Type R is the relative accessibility in terms of price (and obviously, the bang-for-buck value). If they limited them to say, 330 a year, they’d have to price them quite a bit higher to justify doing so, purely from the perspective of business. Moreover, dealerships would gouge them even harder than they did when they were mass-produced. The Type R was always meant to be mass produced; it just didn’t have the worldwide audience/reception that it’s now fortunate enough to have.

Almost the entire history of the Type R was about subtle styling.

    I wasn't really into the fk8, I did always enjoy driving the veloster n as I work at the dealership and that what we would work with sometimes. But after people started selling us their fk8, I a chance to drive a type r. And boy, I was in love after that, could care less about the veloster n, they're both fun cars, but the way the R rides, feel, how the interior looks I was in love with it. I just don't like the fact that previous models of the R, the climate control was controlled via the infotainment. Other than that, fun car

    • @Sleepygarage

      Haha that’s exactly how it works no one really cares about this and I didnt either, we have a Veloster N at home too and it’s fun but not even close to the same level just more gimmicky. And yeah pre 2020 type r climate control and volume slider is annoying as hell

    I’m not digging the softer look or that tacked on wing. I appreciate the interior improvements and inevitable power bump but given the limited production and US dealer markups, it’s not a car I would buy. At MSRP after the mid cycle refresh, maybe. But these things are going to get 20k markups and there’s no chance in hell I’d fanboi it up and pay 60k for a FWD Honda. Love the brand, love their cars, but I’d run an RS3 before paying that kind of cash for a Civic.

      Almost all cars are forgotten one year in. And that's not true. Honda is trying to build a fantastic car by pushing the limits of their 2L 4cylinder turbo engine as they've always been trying to do. Push the TYPE R to the limits. It's not a people pleasing because they don't mass produce enough of these. Their delivering another fantastic product in the Type R line for us as they've been doing. So relax playa, it ain't as you say.
