Kept my FK8 mostly stock for the first year except wheels and tires - 265/35/18 on Titan 7 18x9.5 +45 offset made a massive difference in feel At first it takes getting used to as the wheels are 10lbs lighter per wheel....yes 40lbs lighter than stock wheels all around lol. The increased grip is amazing - car just sticks - incredible limits. Also changed the engine mounts as i hated the engine rocking back and forth on/off power. Stock power 1st year - was fun Then went bolt-on e30 417whp/434wtq Crazy torque response - light up the tires easily and mid corner which i hated compared to stock power delivery. Wanted more power so added fuel system and p600 turbo 533whp/436wtq - less wheelspin and no more mid corner wheelspin- much easier to push hard. 547whp on 33psi Switched to an RV6 R660 - 3" exhaust, 2000cc injectors 566whp/440wtq 7600rpm redline 30psi. Top end monster The car is an animal on upgraded turbo - still smooth but the pull never stops vs stock turbo falling on its face at 5k....this starts at 4k and never stops pulling to 7600 lol The car can handle ALOT of power so dont be afraid to go upgraded turbo - stock turbo on ethanol is actually harder to drive than upgraded turbo.
40lbs lighter and more grip sounds like a no brained lol! I did notice when letting off throttle it does want to kind of rock back.... A higher rpm would be great as well. Wow your build sounds great bro! Good to know that these amazing cars can handle more power/mods!
@JDM For All around 530whp is a good affordable sweet spot - making above 550whp becomes alot more costly but possible. I'm beta testing the R660 turbo for RV6 so I'm pushing it as far as it will go - next round is 8000rpm and 34+psi - I'm adding an upgraded JE pro seal headgasket and ferrea valvetrain for that plus a hellcat low pressure fuel pump kit from JSR which isn't cheap lol but necessary when your trying to make high rpm power on these direct injection motors. So far we have guys making 630whp/700hp crank on stock bottom ends so the motor itself is very stout. The titans are forged and reasonably priced. I'm moving to a custom 10.5" wide wheel upfront for a 305mm tire for more traction but most guys are fine with 265s - I believe some guys even run 275s squared which is a tight squeeze in the rear but possible with a little massaging. Get the HAsport mounts - 62a for engine and trans mount - 70a for the rear motor mount - you'll love it
Yea when I learned to drive manual a point made was to never down shift into first anyway. I only place it in first after a stop light or sign. Great looking car, man. I’ll be getting one this week in red.
I love my FK8, bought it in 2020, 3 years in and only have full exhaust system with mishimoto intake installed. Once paid off I want to start with turbos and fuel system!
There is a reason Honda made Sport the default setting. I have no issues even in Plus R on most roads. Whenever I put it in Comfort I wind up putting it back in Sport fairly soon. The ride is not so much better or softer as it is less controlled in Comfort mode. The seats are money. Best I have sat in for support in turns and yet not beating you up on long drives. Inclines and curbs require caution. My AB '18 is still stock. Three years in, still the best car I have owned. A keeper. I don't feel like the turbo 'quits' at 5,000- still pulls until closer to redline. BTW enjoyed the video. Keep up the good work.
@@Jdmforall I’m using 19” 9.5 +36 TE37 ultra track edition ii with 255/35/19. No torque steer issue for me, but my offset is a little bit too aggressive hence I have very limited option on tyres. Michelin PS4S fits perfectly without rubbing but RE71 gonna rub at rear. My suggestion is if you don’t want to sacrifice looks and performance go for 19” 9.5 +44 and 265/35/19. As for 18” you’ll probably get the best performance due to smaller wheel but u will have more torque steer.
Just found out on the market . Sonic grey , 8k miles 2021 currently marked at 39k . You guys thinks it’s a good price ? Or took to bring down the price on it
If it’s marked at 39k what I say is try to aim for 35k and usually they will try to meat u in the middle and u just go from there ya know. Also watch your apr which is your interest. I hope to get one soon or the new 25 civic si
Ive had mine for 2 months so far, anddd its so boring to drive (first month bone stock, then got a PRL Intake), ive had 36 cars total, 8 hondas and it just feels like a normal civic. Going to be ordering a exhaust soon so hopefully that makes it better if not its getting sold.
@@Coda5610I’m the same way - I’ve had 32 cars and at this point I believe I prefer old cars now but an FK8 or M4 are definitely the two cars that I’ve been looking at if I get into a newer car. I have an R33 and a 5 speed Is300 right now

Thanks for the info! Wow your CTR sounds like a beast! 8k rpms!! Sounds like our k series is very well built from factory. What tuner are you running?
Kept my 2021 all-stock because that keeps the resale value at a premium. No one trusts or wants to buy your project car. They trust Honda engineers.
@Bryan Bohlken I make enough not to care about the resale of a 39k car lol
Stay slow - probably safer that way for you
Had my 2020 FK8 2 years now, best car i have ever had. puts a smile on my face every time i jump into it.

fr bro I just got a 2019 and it pulls hard to about 6600 pretty fucking good.
Should try to change to 19" wheel 255/35/19 or 18" 265/35/18. it makes your ride so much better. I think Im going to keep my FK8/21 forever too.
I was planning on 19s in the future. I'm sure it will help to have more rubber on the wheels. Is torque steer a big issue with 18 or 19s?

Why not keep the 20 inch rims and only put tires with more sidewall like 245/35/20?
I just bought one and i come from the Evo gang xD and i need to say is a great vehicle the suspension, features etc.
Oh men. i had sometimes the same issue about first gear that you cannot put into the gear. You have always to put in the 2nd gear and rev very slowly😐
I’m so torn on which one looks better the fl5 or this I’m leaning more towards the fk8 they both beautiful but this fk8 just does it
It’s hard to buy an fk8 though bcoz most owners r not selling and the ones that r selling are selling it more than the rrp they got it for
I’ve never had an issue with the spring catching… might be something you want to check out 😂
Great looking car!
Thank you! 🙏
Thank the Focus RS for y’all’s boosted Blue color 💯😎😊
Nahh..look up the Apex Blue Pearl Honda s2000.
@@2408jmac I stand corrected. That S2k looks damn good in that color too 💯
Looks great! What kind of canards are those?
The most annoying thing I know about the fk8 is the front bumper and grill gaps. 😅

Thanks! They are the verus engineering canards.

Except for Phoenix Yellow 💯 especially on a Type R 💯
