  • The Colorado Trail, Segment 10 starting at the Timberline Lake Trailhead to the Mt. Massive Trailhead, through the Mt. Massive Wilderness. Starting drone footage from Turquoise Lake, just east of the segment 10 Trailhead (though no good views of it from the trail itself). We pass by the Leadville fish hatchery detour, tackle two anticlimactic climbs, and continue to see more mosquitos than we’d like. The trail follows the Continental Divide Trail through this segment as well.

    Love it with your cute little dog along on your hike , my terrier goes on every trek i make and has for 12 years now.. well filmed , very good .. Wonderful country you are trekking through .. You do look over heated , hot day , uphill climb.. Only tip i can give there all the years i have trekked the high country , find shade and take mini breaks , lots of water... I have used Therm-a-rest for 50 years now .. The early years pads were of a slick nylon, difficult to stay on during the night. .. My two year old model has quite a bit of a grippy surface .. Some sleeping bags now have a outside pocket for pads to slide in, good idea.. Big Agnes is one .. Well done thanks for sharing ..

    Spork is a straight up gansta. Eating flies, walking through flowers, pees where he wants. Love that little guy. Great drone footage.

      Spork is a star! I was wondering if Spork came from a Heaven Hi dog? I was looking at MT breeders and Heaven Hi used to be in Colorado so it would be interesting to know if he came from that breeder. He looks like an ideal smaller hiking dog.

    Nice! Thank goodness for the drone to replace the views that can't be seen from the ground. Really looking forward to your JMT hike!

    Simply Beautiful- thanks for sharing. Thinking of doing the Rockies for my 50th - lots of fab walks to choose from and all that wonderful wilderness. Have liked and subbed. 👍⛰

    Came by the Trek table at Gear & Beer last night to say what's up, but missed you guys. I didn't end up going for the entire CT at once this summer & am just doing segments as well on weekends. Enjoy JMT & maybe we'll see you back out in CO. ✌️

      Ah, sorry you missed us! I didn’t get there until nearly 8, so maybe that had something to do with it - hope you enjoyed the event anyway!

    Hi Juliana thanks for sharing this with us. I have a daughter who might be about your age or a little older, and I share your videos with her so that she might see it's possible even while young to live the kind of life you do, as long as you do what you need to do to make it happen. Hope to see you on the trail one day and thank you in person.

      Hi Brian, it’s definitely possible, but it’s by no means easy.. Hopefully your daughter is able to find time to get outdoors if that’s something she’s passionate about!

    Yeah, mosquitoes are thick this year in Idaho too. That view didn’t seem too bad at all, and I love the flying cam footage. 🤙🏻

      Good video Juliana. Are you taking Spork on the PCT when you go?

    • @JulianaChauncey
      @JulianaChauncey  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, unfortunately spork is going to stay behind for that trip since we’re crunched for time and don’t want to board him when we go through national parks
