I like to camp there at least once a year. You need to check it out! I'm hope to redo some more of our older videos from the Leadville and Twin Lakes area this next year.
Great video. Thank you! We know Leadville pretty well and visit often as we are not too far away (Avon). However, we are yet to camp at turquoise Lake. We have a 19’ camper trailer and we have flexibility of week day stays. Which of the campgrounds would you recommend. Ideally, we would like to be close to the water but not on top of each other, if possible. Thanks again! Stay safe and healthy.
We've camped at Molly Brown site #12 three times and love it. It doesn't feel crowded there. Our last couple of pie iron cooking videos were recorded there and show glimpses of the campsite. Sites 10, 8, 6, & 4 also have a lake view and are my backups when making reservations. In 2019 when I made reservations for the week of July 4th, I did it exactly 6 months out. I had the screen up and waited for the clock to hit 9 (I think). Within 15 minutes I had site 12 and other campers had grabbed all the other sites I mentioned. One of our regular viewers had site 12 right after us. She checked a couple times a week on availability and was able to reserve it when somebody canceled their reservation about 4 weeks out. Molly Brown and Baby Doe are some of the most popular videos on my channel. Some of the oldest too, so I hope to revisit them this summer. May Queen Campground is at the far end of the lake and has some sites with views of the lake. Cell service is weaker over there.
