Whilst the refurb on the De Deitrich sets are brilliant, might I suggest higher seating in the buffet car so you can actually see out the window? Can get quite frustrating. Especially when coming over the bay going into and leaving Dublin. Best view from a train on the whole network.
How things change. I was on holiday in Ireland with my parents in 1965 when the news came through that I passed all my GCE O-levels. As a reward I was allowed to take the enterprise from Dublin to Belfast while my parents went by car. In those days despite being an international train it was a very ordinary unsophisticated DMU. I can't answer for first class but In second class there were no catering facilities at all.
Nice job. Please refurbish the excellent Mk4 coaches on the Cork route and improve the food. My back can't cope with the hard seats on the 22k, so the Mk4 is the reason I travel IE to Cork.
I've Been on the refurbished enterprise. The enterprise journey was good and I enjoyed the ride it was a comfortable and quiet ride at times but the vibrations and squeaks in the economy class were just awful I rate the enterprise 7.3

The Enterprise and Mark 4 trains are locomotive hauled services while all the other services are made up of multiple units, which are trains that have a small engine under each carriage instead of a single big engine at the front like the Enterprise or Mark 4.
@@adammaher6601 (8)208 & (8)209 are owned by Translink (NIR). Of the 28 coaches in the "Enterprise" fleet, half nominally belong to NIR, half to Irish Rail. The locomotives are maintained by Irish Rail while the coaches are maintained by NIR. The electric generator vans (EGV) were Irish Rail, they may still be. The trains are powered by 201 class locos, which ever Push-pull fitted loco is available, not just the four originally dedicated to the Enterprise.

My father was train driver for CIE got killed in a train crash Lisbon station 1978 he use to do dublin to Belfast run trains so different now

The HS2 railway should development in Ireland
The standard/economy seating looks more comfortable and spacious that the cramped feeling in the former Virgin Pendolino trains.

No it’s a joint venture between Irish Rail and Translink. Enterprise is just the brand name for the Belfast to Dublin express
