My grandpa faught with the red 1 at the Bulge and Rhine. He has been gone now since 2003. Miss him everyday... He earned 3 bronze stars in the battle of the Bulge.
@@datdude4528 have some more respect. Even if that persons grandpa didn’t earn 3 bronze stars in battle of the bulge (which they probably did) you should still respect them. Medals don’t mean bravery.
@@datdude4528 yeah and it’s pretty realistic that almost every grandfather fought in the Second World War. So many were drafted. I mean at least believe it until proven it’s not true not the other war around.
What an incredible film! My beloved Grandpa was in the 1st on Omaha -- little did I know, this was just the start of his heroism, with Aachen and Hurtgen to follow! And even lived to tell the tale!
Some Hajees were helping out at the base camp chow-hall and they called me number 1, so I just pointed at the shoulder patch of the soldier standing next to me. He was wearing the number "1" patch. That was in 2005, in Iraq.

Im a 1st infantry reenactor and at 5:19 seeing the guy drop gives me chills, we owe so much to those who give there lives for our freedoms.
